Seems like people will post about a bad RMA experience more often than posting about a good one, so here is my positive RMA experience with EVGA:

My dad had a EVGA GTX 550 Ti Superclocked 1 GB in his home machine. He had some cold boot issues the last month or so. I told him that card had a lifetime warranty and I put in another [spare] GTX 550 Ti temporarily. I RMA'd the card to EVGA, the approval took maybe 2 days? Within 2 days of them getting the card they emailed and said they were shipping out a GTX 950 SSC Gaming ACX 2.0 2 GB card. Just got it back the other day, working great!

Not a bad little upgrade for him either.

+1..I just had a GTX 570 doing the checkerboard artifacts in the BIOS 2 weeks ago, so I RMA'ed it back to EVGA (3rd time having to RMA since 2011) and they sent me back a GTX 960 4GB SC Gaming and I got it back 2 days ago, hell of an upgrade imho. I love me some lifetime warranty from my buds @ EVGA!

one heck of huge upgrade from 550ti to 960... that's pretty great and exceed any expectation even to me as I tend to buy only Nvidia cards from EVGA unless it have a nasty issue, but is mainly the superb customer support that I buy EVGA.

They got rid of their lifetime warranty, but still seem solid overall. I bought my 980Ti b-stock from them and it’s been great.

Their excellent CS is why people tolerate their middle of the road coolers :p

If they can eventually match MSI's Gaming X solution, I'd go right back to eVGA.

EVGA has always been one of my favorite companies. Their step up and b stock programs are second to none. They had to move away from lifetime warranties the same as everyone else In the industry.

e.g.

XFX is very candid about how bad some of their RMA returns are. I find their RMA Hall of Shame funny and terrible at the same time.

All of these manufacturers would have similar stories.

not so much, try calling Gigabyte or ASUS or MSI, I never seem to be able to reach a human on the phone there and their warranty is NOT transferable (used to be) and way too many "received same broken card back" comments online to trust them anymore. Trust is earned and the big three lost that trust and it wont come back except if it's earned and over time. I always buy EVGA and will continue to do so because I can get a tech on the phone in minutes 24/7 and they back their warrant and they allow warranty transfer

I meant in regards to bad RMAs

The one time I had to RMA a video card with MSI it was great experience. My 780 caught fire and I filled out the online RMA and sent the card in the day before Thanks giving and got back a replacement by the next Thursday. As nice as a life time warrenty is it is a bad buisness practice. You will lose a great deal of money down the road. BFG was a prime example.

I just had a very positive experience too. I'd installed a water block wrong (wasn't flush) and when I redid it, got purple artefacts, then it died and I could smell burnt plastic. There was a small brown patch which is apparently can be a sign of water damage (no idea how that would have been the case as it had been fully leak tested)

Anyway I cleaned the card and sent it back. Replaced with no questions, pretty much means I'll be buying EVGA for ever (though initially I did go with them because they're not assholes about aftermarket coolers)

Might have to switch to their motherboards too, asus do suck for warranty service.

I buy EVGA video cards exclusively just for the RMA process. Straightforward and honest, I enjoy "dealing" with them.

I've never had to rma an EVGA card. I've had six cards over the last decade or so and all were great.

same here.. I'd've expected a 750/945/1030 (depending on availability) since they're all in the same performance bucket as the 560 (using single precision tflops as a lazy proxy for cross generational performance).

Isn't that why we buy EVGA?

I've only dealt with their RMA process once; it was painless. I called, had a brief chat about what I'd done to troubleshoot, and had a replacement card and a return shipping label on their way.

They were never very helpful in my experience. They wouldn't even exchange for a similar card in the past. My GTX 1070 was getting occasional artifacts and after many back and fourths (and mentioning how they refused to replace with similar in the past) they eventually did swap it out for a new replacement. New in box and it has worked flawless since I got it. So maybe they're getting better. It might have had to do with the thermal issues the original GTX 1070s had. Luckily, the replacement I got is cool, essentially quiet, and has been perfect.

So props to EVGA for coming around this time.
