I'm only talking about the PS4 and Xbox one, Nintendo consoles are kind of in a class of their own. I'm actually considering selling my PS4 and making my PS3/360 the last consoles I own. I just don't think I can stomach buying anymore consoles in the future no matter what exclusives they have, Or maybe make the PS4 my last console.

I got a PS3 when it came out, kept it for 2 years, then sold it..Same with the Xbox 360. Just never really used them, and always ended up gaming on the PC instead.

Now I just have a Wii for the kids. Might get them a Switch when the game library gets a bit bigger in a few years. Other than that, no consoles for me.

I am just the opposite. Have a pretty good gaming PC, but don't use it much. I understand it runs games better, has a better game selection as far as volume and all the rest. But I just prefer console gaming. My son uses the gaming PC. I am fine with the PS4, the titles that are on it, my uber padded swivel recliner chair, and the controller.

Now that Microsoft seems half serious about releasing Xbox games on PC, I may only have need for a Nintendo Handheld.

I'm still a sucker for the Nintendo and Sony exclusives, so I have both a Switch and PS4. I'm going to grab a 3DS for Samus Returns. I got an Xbox a few months after it came out, and I even bought an S, but it has been relegated to movie duty. My time right now is spent equally between PC and PS4 for gaming. But this will probably be the last generation of consoles I buy into.

My most recent console is a Wii, only because it was a gift. No PS3 or XBOX360. Consoles just don't appeal to me that much, but I may get a PS4 sometime in the future as there are now enough interesting console-exclusive games on it, unless PS5 is backwards compatible (and I may wait to see if that is the case as I don't mind waiting)

For consoles that are relatively new, I have a PS4 (regular) and a Nintendo switch. The PS4 is just to watch Blurays and the Switch is for roadtrips / travel. I was about to pull the trigger on an XBOX One S for the 4K bluray play capability but with the One X coming out so soon, I figure I can wait.

If more news on the PS5 comes out before the release of the One X I may opt to wait for that IF it will be able to play 4k HDR Blurays. For the consoles actually plugged into the TV I usually only buy one game - and that's some version of Gran Turismo, the other 99.9% of the time the box is used for watching movies.

It is tempting to buy a PS4 for Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding. I just don't know if I would actually play it after those. Can't really justify a current gen console other than that. I haven't bought a console since PS2 and that was like Y2k.

The most fun recently I had with a console was the PS3 and Borderlands 1 and the DLC.

Destiny was pretty good but Destiny 2 is right around the corner plus it's on PC.

I own a PS4 but it's boxed away

My wife is a Playstation fanatic and has a PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4. Sometimes I'll play a game on there that she recommends or that we can play together.

If it wasn't for that I'd only stick to my gaming PC.

Last console I had was a modded Xbox in 2003. My daughter was playing Minecraft on her ipad, but was frustrated with the limitations. So I bought her a gaming laptop with Minecraft and now we're a console-free household.

Came here expecting a poll.

Anyway I held out thus far. Actually the only thing holding me back is the controller. I've had my fair share of frustration with trying to play games with a controller. The end result was always dualshocks smashed to pieces. So yes, that's why I'm not even bothering to get a current gen console.
Well, actually two things, the other being that there is no Gran Turismo for the current gen yet. And not sure if the one they're planning will even be of interest to me.

Got a ps4 to play some exclusives (mainly bloodborne). Will hang onto it, but probably won't use much.

I think the biggest plus for gaming PCs for me is just building and tinkering with it. Once everything is up and running, I get the itch to do more upgrades again - even if I don't really need it ... that's the big difference between gaming on a console and on a PC - even if consoles eventually catch up to or pass PCs spec-wise (like the One X and PS5 are rumored to be).

Well considering my Xbox 360 Elite was barely ever played was it first released in 2007(?), I really have no interest in the current generation of consoles. Sure some of the exclusives look enticing but I have a huge(yuuuge) Steam backlog as it is and I need to start playing those games. Also, I bought a nice new monitor too.

You can do Poll's here, I didn't know that.

Cost of games isnt as high though, especially if you wait a bit.

For sure, I love buying games on GoG. Although, I don't buy many newer titles anymore. Witcher 3 was the last game I bought at full price. I would have gladly paid double.

I have consoles for exclusives more than anything else (Horizon, Until Dawn, Heavy Rain, Uncharted, etc). Usually I buy used or wait for a deal, though. If I can get it on PC, I'll always play on PC.

strickly pc gamer here, i have a wii u at the house for my nephews to play but other then that i havent had a console since the gamecube haha

PS3 is my last console but that means no NHL on PC. EA only publishes FIFA to PC because football is more popular so more sales.

I have every generation of Playstation, because I love me some exclusives. Not like they're expensive for all the hours of fun you get out of them (well, relative to what your career is I suppose). (y)

I'm one of the few on here that doesn't even use their desktop PC anymore. All on the go (Vita), or console now. Inb4 haters.

I'll always buy them, for the exclusives. I also have a higher end PC for the PC only type games and FPS titles i won't play on a console. I just like good games, don't care what platform they are on.

My daughter has an XB1, my son has a PS4, but otherwise we are a PC+Nintendo household. Everyone has a PC (some more than one). Everyone has a 3DS, and we have a Wii U. Plan to get a Switch as soon as they're around enough to be an impulse buy when I walk in somewhere and see some. (probably later this fall) My son only uses his PS4 to watch TV, and play a couple of games that most of his friends have. Otherwise he uses the PC more. My daughter uses the XB1 to watch Netflix. She plays PC and Nintendo games with me. My younger daughters play Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and play Nintendo games.

I do have a Shield TV, that I use for media in my bedroom, and streaming games from my main gaming PC when I feel like playing from bed. :D Gb wired connection, and it works flawlessly. We are a fairly PC oriented household. Quite happy with that.

Mostly PC gaming with random gaming on PS3, Vita, & 3DS. I used to own a PS4 but I lost interest in playing on it.

I think also more people overseas in Asia and Europe play on PC than console.

As long as they keep making NBA 2K for PC, it'll be my primary gaming method. I do own a PS3, PS4, Wii, and an Xbox 360, but a majority of the gaming in our house is done on PC.

I purchased a PS4 sometime last winter. I literally have not powered it up and it's been sitting there. What a waste.

Past year has been the worst for pc gaming i can recall, almost purchased no pc games at all. I dropped a video card purchase in the last year to get a pro instead for uc4, yakuza 0, nioh, last guardian and horizon

I bought current gen console but have recently made a move back to PC gaming. It just doesn't compare. Sadly I cannot avoid the exclusives on console I wanted (Yakuza 0, Persona 5, etc), but everything else plays in 144 fps on my PC. Console goes back to TV and stays there.

I haven't owned a console since SNES, and the consoles I have played on since then were Wii, PS1 and Sega Saturn only, and I use "play" loosely, I probably totaled no more than 1h on Sega Saturn for example.

PS4 was the first console I had considered in recent times, but it was mainly wanting to play FFX-HD, not to own and play on the PS4. Once SE released that game on PC, the consideration completely disappeared for a while.

Horizon Zero Dawn, FF15 and Persona 5 are the only games right now I'd consider buying PS4 for, but PS4 pro is like fairy dust over this side of the pacific, and the will to buy it is not strong as FF15 and P5 do not have English version here, if it did, I would have gave it serious thought, but P5 & FF15 really put a damper on it.

I could in theory import the games from US or UK, but Japanese games always has a quirk: their English VAs are simply not as good as Japanese VAs. This is not a dig at English VAs in general (I like them in western developed games), but for some reason, all Japanese made games have English dubs that sound completely off. All of the 3 games I have mentioned are Japanese games, so I would much prefer Japanese voice acting with English Subtitles, a combination that is seldomly realised.

Plus, the convoluted nature of their Region free policy in general (games are not region locked, DLC are, and DLC Region lock is as tough as they come) makes me really weary to get games imported.
