As of last night, I notice there is no system sound on my PC. But there is intenret sound. Then tonight, I realize my Microsoft security essential has been disabled, so clearly there is a virus. I downloaded TDSSkiller and it found about 10 threats. After I quranantine them, I notice windows 7 start up by saying

'{B172d411-c09E.....exe}' cannot be ...

Since there is no program by that name, I assume TDSSkiller found a virus.

But II still can't run any anti virus, such as Malware bytes, or Kaspersky or MSE

And system restore to prev. date was disabled.

What can I do at this point?

Take it to someone that actually knows how to manually remove viruses.

You are already out of your league and will probably only make matters worse.

Do you live in San Antonio?

Or restore from an existing third party backup? I dont rely on Windows restore just for this reason right here.

Hope you kept off-site backups. Only way to be sure you've removed the virus entirely is to format and reinstall Windows.

OP posted this a week ago and hasn't come back, but I'll still post what I need to say.....

I agree with DrLobotomy, that the virus can be removed without a format and OS install.

For you guys who are suggesting that, what do you do when you rebuild the box and it gets
infected again the next day? Re-build it again?

There may be times a rebuild is necessary on a totally trashed box, but that should be rare.

To the OP if you still need help.... try downloading and running Combofix.

Download on a clean system and put it on a thumb drive if you need to.
(Note: The download site may play a video, it's just an ad revenue thing.)

After Combofix, see if you can get Malwarebytes running, you may need to re-install it.

You may need to use other automated tools or manual cleanup, but that's how you learn to
clean up an infected system.

Dig in and do it.
