While Nathan Drake’s story is officially over, Naughty Dog is squeezing more money out of Uncharted fans with The Lost Legacy DLC, which sees Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross (of Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 4, respectively) in their own little prequel adventure. I hope it’s a long one, though, being that it’ll cost $40.

Watch Chloe and Nadine explore the Western Ghats in this gameplay trailer for UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy—a new game from acclaimed developer Naughty Dog coming August 22 to the PlayStation 4. In order to find an ancient Indian artifact, Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross must venture deep into the Western Ghats mountains, discover the lost cities of the Hoysala Empire, and face a ruthless warmonger, Asav.

Ok, we all know PC is the master race. But how can you not be impressed by Naughty Dog's work?

Their characters and stories are great, that made me barely able to tolerate the gameplay of last of us, and uncharted is more annoying in every way than that. So I wasn't able to tolerate that one. Either one that I tried.

I can see how some people don't like it. The last of us grew on me after a while. I was underwhelmed with U4's story\gameplay but the visuals are some of the best I've ever seen. U2 is still my favorite of the series.

Definitely Screams Console from the Barren Polygonal design of the environment to the low res textures literally everywhere. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's just not next gen. Seems to be shamelessly using lara croft at the main character. I've never met a girl that acts like jamesbond, other than fucking, so what's the the new obsession of making girls the main hero all of a sudden. It was a novelty in Tomb Raider, nothing more. I honestly don't give a shit about her inner workings and/or opinions on anything. I'd rather have a frog as the main character than a boring teacher voiced lara croft knock off.

Naughty Dog does awesome work. As a kid, I remember playing countless hours of Keef The Thief on a signed Apple IIGS with no hard drive. Loved that game and the music.

Edit: My stupid brother convinced mom and dad to buy Apple instead of the Amiga. After watching the documentary, I realized how much we missed.

All you nerds should check this out.

I certainly agree Part 2 was the best in the series.

I'd personally have preferred Chloe and Elena but to each his own.

Great series and developers, they are the only console developers where I buy every release. Actually every release since Way of the Warrior for 3DO now that I think about it. Sorta want to get physical copies of everything they've done to put in my man cave at some point.

Last of Us was my game of the generation last gen (possibly Uncharted 2 too)

Two things that did me in: Bullet sponge enemies, and qtes upon qtes upon qtes.

Have you met a man who acted like James Bond?
I have no aversion for female main characters, what I hate however is when they make her look like a wimp, but give her some rough badass voice and think that's enough to sell it. Absolutely zero visible muscle tone, average to slim build, but performing actions that would make most professional athletes proud.

Anyway I think the game looks very dated, what next gen? If we say crysis 2 is last gen, then that makes this what?

I think it was just a bad feed.
YouTube was telling me that it was HD but it sure didn't look like it.

It is next gen from the sense that if you played Uncharted 3 on the PS3 and then Uncharted4 on the PS4, there is a noticeable difference. A generational improvement if you will.
But compared to PC. The Witcher 3 for example. Nah.... Don't hold a candle. But, I can tell you from playing UC4 on a PS4 Pro, that it looked pretty damn good. Definitely good enough.

So you only played the first game? Certainly the weakest in the series.
I played the demo of two of the games, but it was long ago I'm not sure which ones. 1,2 or 1,3 or maybe 2,3? I have no idea.

Really need to play 2. It was praised for fixing exactly what you had issues with. It does have a bit of a slow start until you past the museum heist but it doesn't take long.

Pandering to the widest audience that polls show might buy this product.

Were you not a fan of Stargate? She is voiced by Claudia Black, the character model even resembles her.

Looks like older Tomb Raider. Graphics are good but I wouldn't exactly say next gen. If they did it to push 4K, they should have instead used lower res and better textures/etc.

Not dated at all, probably one of the best looking games of today. The fact that they were able to pull all this off on a console is very impressive.

Only the rendered sequences look good, the gameplay doesn't look impressive at all, in this video either.

No. The opposite, in fact: pandering to the most vocal critics that don't buy video games in the hope that they finally buy their games.

Been saying this about Uncharted for ages. Notice how in the cutscenes the only thing in focus are the 1-3 characters talking. They do the same kind of focus tricks during gameplay to lead your eyes to where they want you to look.

Not saying that there is anything wrong with that, as they have to do their best with the hardware they have to work with. It does look extremely good for a PS4 game, or console game in general.

While the graphics are probably not as good as a few PC games (I haven't seen many) it's the overall polish these games have that sets them apart in my opinion.

Considering the hardware it's amazing what these guys (and gals) can accomplish.

TBH I want to see a developer create a PC game with only a set hardware target in mind like a 7400 i5 and GTX 1070. If you take out consideration for anything lower you'd get games that look incredible.

Uncharted and horizon looks better then anything on pc at the moment imo.

I agree, there hasn't been anything visually impressive on PC since Battlefield 1 which doesn't do much to showcase anything other than environments. Witcher 3 and Tomb Raider are still our best looking story games.

BF1 itself is only an incremental upgrade over BF4, itself only incremental over BF3. None of the BF games or even Battlefront were amazing like BF3 was back in 2011. Same can be said for Metro Last Light, a good upgrade, but nothing awe-inspiring like 2033. It has been a good number of years since a PC game has truly blown away the competition and made everything else look dated. Even Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which got a lot of praise, had ugly looking characters and other objects with a notably bad HL2 style HDR effect when moving in or out of buildings. The textures of the world and the PBR brought it to life but once you focused in you'd see a lot of ugly issues that have plagued games for years.

I don't necessarily mind this, as I prefer optimized games that run good and gradually improve graphics over ones that can't run on current hardware and will never be optimized for future hardware.

It's like PC devs are forced by Nvidia to push as many post processing techniques into their game as possible rather than sit there and fine tune each option. For the 10th time I don't need chromatic aberration and lens flare in my FPS.

Well I'm not seeing it. Certain games on consoles can look extremely good in a certain angle from a certain viewpoint. But I ain't impressed by the graphics in the video. Maybe it's the lighting but it looks crap, even when I push the video to 4k. The colors are not right, not realistic at all, the rocks looks like they have very low res textures. The whole thing looks like I'm in a duplo world. Because the objects sitting in the world are so out of place of their surroundings. I'm not seeing the big picture instead my eyes are drawn to individual objects that might look good on their own but doesn't fit in. Like all rules of compositing have been thrown out the window.

Well then it fails miserably in my case because I'm never looking where they want. I usually turn off motion blur, depth of field and other such artificial crap that seeped into gaming from cinematography. It's not real. The natural world doesn't have chromatic aberration, nor lens flare, nor depth of field, nor motion blur, nor film grain. Fuck those shitty effects, and fuck those who though it would be a good idea to put them into games.

It's OK for cutscenes, it's absolutely unacceptable during gameplay.

Weird, the transition from cutscene to gameplay is seamless. More than once I sat on my couch waiting for the cutscene to end then realize I'm supposed to be playing. I can't think of a game, even on my PC, I've ever done that in.

You sir have nailed it. They are making a politically affable product streamlined through sjw icons.

A video jacking off all over Nathan Drakes hot ass does not sway my opinions of console graphics and their plastic shiny hair.

To me it looks dated even in that video that is supposed to prove the opposite.

I mean the game is over a year old but it still rivals the likes of anything on PC today in my opinion.

So much this. It pisses me off every time I see a developer take out requirements for modern hardware due to the vocal minority on Steam who are pissy about the game not working on their 12-year old CPU. I frankly don't know what's holding back advancements in gaming anymore: the weak hardware in consoles or the ancient hardware spread out among PCs. It was only a decade ago that developers were not shy about shunning previous generations of hardware.
