Agents of Mayhem (Saints Row spinoff)

No comments on this game at all - coming out on August 15th - could be fun for those of us that grew up on 80s cartoons?

It will probably be a fun romp.

I'm a fan of Saints Row and all so chances are I'll be picking this up.

Those glitches are unfortunate.

Just got it on GMG. The whole kit and kaboodle (DLCS, everything) for $45 thanks to their current discount plus AUGUST10 code. No brainer for me.

This game has no politics looks like an 80s Disney Cartoon spinoff.
Major upgrade in Art design from the Saint Row series which I never played
it looked really kooky this doesn't look bad looks like a Sandbox
Overwatch game toss in some Just Cause. Looks good it's a 3rd person game can never get enough of those.

I say the game has no politics no set of lines given because it says Zero Fucks which is out of the bounds saying hey we don't care about rails which either can be fun or mundane.

This game is broken on Nvidia hardware.




This game is completely unplayable on AMD hardware and runs like crap on Nvidia hardware. Look at the GTX 1070 1440p numbers for example.

With that said I will be tracking this game as I LOVED the Saint's Row series. Hopefully they can patch the performance issues. I will NOT purchase it before it is fixed though.
 
No audio on cutscenes... the story is supposed to be a kick so that's going to be a bummer.

Controller prompts are default even with KBM without a controller plugged in...that tells me something right there. Not seeing egregious performance issues yet but haven't played long.

Menus looks good. All the PC graphics bells and whistles options are there.

Probably needs 1 decent patch to have it ready in the shape it should have been. Not sure why they released it now if it was in this kind of shape.
 
WoW didn't know the game was out today might look into it I like how every barrier for the M Rating is broken.AMD always runs bad I seen at least a dozen games since I've been on Steam with either the processor or the card was not up to par. Nvidia will fix it in a week or a few days because Manual rocks.
 
I don't understand why this isn't Saints Row 5. Volition doesn't have the rep to make new IPs, especially ones that are already so similar to Saints Row.

It's Overwatch + Crackdown + Saints Row. Open world, blow shit up game.
It takes place in the SR universe, several characters from the SR series appear.

 
Didn't realize this released... No do I play 1.3 NMS and wait till they fix it, or just buy and live the dream? Saints Row IV as much as purest hated, I found it to be the most fun I had in an open world game.
 
I've beaten SR4 three times already, great game. Seeing Agents of Mayhem just makes me want to replay it again. -_-
Gat Out of Hell was fun too, but mostly just for flying.
 
Pretty sure the VR masturbation is supposed to be a joke, not a bug... Is this going to be one of those "desperate to make fun of a game so we'll nitpick everything" situations?
 
Definitely looks like something I would pick up for $15 someday, and enjoy the fuck out of.

Hope not.

All it needs is even one good patch to put it over the top. I'm a Volition fan. I'm going to eat this thing up.
 
How is performance? I heard it's bad but disabling the Nvidia stuff helps a lot.
I want to play it but not sub-60fps.

Still gauging it. There is a setting in display->advanced options called "sun shadow" with three settings: Normal and then the two Nvidia higher end options. Just setting that to normal gave me at least 15 fps back if not more. I couldn't believe it.

I'm at a modest 1920x1200 resolution pending the eventual monitor upgrade on a 980ti. I'm maxed on every other setting and at least in interior situations like the HQ I am jumping and flying all over the place and I'm right around 60fps. Sometimes it hits maybe the high 50s and then it hits 62 ish. I have v-sync off and the in game frame rate cap at 60.

I'll see what happens outdoors...


I did have my first CTD. When getting the first "new" agent and starting her quest, I was going full speed with boost in her car to get to the destination and the game froze/crashed on me. I know these kinds of issues are already getting well known.





EDIT ADD: On the streets the performance is fairly consistent.

I did watch it drop to about 50 briefly when I was hauling ass in a really fast car and doing all kinds of craziness with a lot of action on the screen. Same settings as stated above. Shy of doing insanity I was close to 60 at all times but it's going to fluctuate per activity.

This game has nice graphics options so I think people could dial this in where they want it to be and it will get better with patches and drivers.

Subbing

Love how over the top SR is/was. I'd love to see the second one be remastered at some point because the PC port had its share of issues that held it back a little, but I really like the game itself. With some polish and modernization it could be much more enjoyable!
 
Quite possibly the biggest pile of garbage I have bought in the last 5 years... I mean shit, SR4 was a masterpiece compared to this.

No save games
Sometimes great FPS, other times I loaded into 20FPS wtf?
Hitboxes are the size of a Mack truck, just point the giant crosshairs near the bad guy and shoot
Everything you do is the same thing over and over

Man, I understand why this thing tanked.
 
It's definitely a letdown coming off the SR series. Utterly forgettable. Can't recommend it unless you see it for $20 or some such.
