I put my GTX980 in ebay and it sold to someone with 0 feedback. Also his user name is basically his name with "-4" at the end. I took that to mean he had four accounts but I tried searching for "-3, -2, just the name" etc and nothing came up. Also google searching his name brought up a record report showing the correct address and what not.

Would you think its ok to ship to them? I used to have my ebay setup to not allow 0 feedback buyers, but they have made a ton of changes since I last used it, and didnt see that option anymore. The money is already in my Paypal, but if he files a claim they can just take it back right? Would there be any chance of them siding with a user that has about 150 all positive deals against a 0 feedback user in the case of an issue?

I type right in the auctions that I won't accept winning bids from zero feedback buyers and then refund their money if they do win. I don't even know if you can prevent bids from zeroes now.

I just had this happen the other day. I cancelled it and refunded the money and relisted.

Yes they can give you negative feedback for it.

I would sell to them, eBay has good buyer and seller protection now.

Im thinking wait a day to ship (I put that I ship in 2 days) to let the money transfer to my bank and let other pending stuff clear my bank, then not use Paypal for a little while. If he files a claim Ill just pull my account off there until it gets resolved.

We were all 0 feedback buyers at one point. But I do find it a little bit more sketchy that their first purchase would be for something this expensive...

i put in each listing that anyone with 0 feedback needs to contact me before bidding. I cancel all bids from zeros that dont, because they didnt read the fucking description.

I would go ahead and sell to him. I recently had someone with 0 feedback purchase something from me. Not only were they one of the only people who paid immediately, but they were also the only ones to leave me back positive feedback once they received the item.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

There is a ridiculous abundance of 0 feedback buyers looking for graphics cards right now. It's absolutely incredible now many I've seen bidding on my radeons. It was so ridiculous that I just decided to stop listing them. And this is the reason I'm going to move back to either Craiglist/OfferUo or [H]ardforum to sell future items.

Ebay no longer allows the blockage of zero-feedback buyers.

For every 1 EBay seller-story with a happy ending, there are 10 with shitty stories. I have no idea why anyone would try selling graphics cards on EBay nowadays, sellers are getting scammed left and right.

I must be one of the lucky ones. Pretty much every GPU I've owned I sold on eBay and didn't get scammed. There was this one guy though last year who tried to scam me but thank god he was an idiot. I sold him my perfectly working GTX 960 that he immediately claimed was not working. That's all he put in the note section: "not working". I tried sending him messages asking him what the problem was with no response. So I sent him the return label and waited. Ebay gives buyers 5 business days to return the item. He never did. So I called eBay and got the case closed and my funds released. Three days later the empty box shows up to my house. He shipped it out the day I got my funds released. I think he got butthurt over his ignorance of the 5 day rule and tried sticking me with the return shipping. Well, I called eBay back again and got that reversed as well.

You can't. Ebay is a buyers market 100%. It's fucking ripe with corruption. Then assuming your item does sell you get falcon-punched with fees. Not sure how they are still in business.

Everyone starts with 0 feedback. Sadly there will be some scammers out there; even on Amazon Marketplace. eBay is a buyer's market and usually favors the buyer. I think we all know someone that stopped listing on eBay.

You can't stop the purchase, but the ability to cancel a transaction is much easier. If they have not paid 72 hrs from purchase, requesting to cancel the transaction immediately goes your way and you get all funds back.

I'd make sure you document every part of that card before you send it out.

you can't

but as others have said, refund and cancel the item saying it was broken or lost. Respond to the user saying something like you misplaced it and don't know where it is now.

Worst thing that could happen is buyer sees you relist it.

if you really want to send it. Photo everything, make sure the photos of the item you put on the listing show serial numbers and what not. package it well, take photos of the packaging, make it need to be signed for, add enough insurance.

I've been selling on ebay for over 10 years, been scammed once by someone using a stolen CC.

It is someone who checked out as a "guest". eBay now allows you to buy things without an actual account. The username is your real name with a random number after it.

I have had a number of buyers like this, and so far I have not had any real issues with them.
