i dont think its possible with so many players in one game and the map size. have you ever played squad? that game is on the same engine with 80 man servers and I've NEVER been in a server that didn't lag and rubber band me with ping spiking up almost to 200. meanwhile I can play in any east coast bf1 server and my ping stays at 50 and never the slightest bit of lag and way more action going on.I like the features but would rather they clean up the net code for all the latency and hit registration issues first.

What gets me with it and why I think they can even it out a bit is that its not all the time. I've played a few rounds even being around lot of players without any issue. Other games I'm all alone and it takes 15 seconds to pick up a gun. Some rounds only the first 5 or 10 minutes of a map is laggy then everything smooths out into stability. It also does not seem to impact everyone.
Earlier tonight I landed with about 10 others at the military base. Landed, ran 20 feet into the door of a warehouse and bent down to pick up an AR. As I stood up with it I teleported back to my landing site and someone else was picking up the same AR who turned around and shot me. My teammate (lives about 10 miles from me) had no issues and was able to kill that guy. Few rounds later he was in the same boat and things were okay for me
I have not played Squad. I dont expect perfection, just even it out a little bit since it seems so random and all over the place. I think they try to reduce some of it by offloading things to the client side which is fine but my PC and my internet are not even close to bottlenecks for the game so something is chopping it up as players communicate data back and forth. Maybe split things into more of a P2P setup. I dunno.
at the beginning of the match the lags mostly due to people with slow ass computers still loading assets which will cause others to rubber band. basically you get penalized for having to good of a computer, lol. the p2p idea wouldn't work in a game like this because it's far to easy to exploit similar to the desync glitch that tons of people were using by manipulating how the anti-lag was setup.
i'm sure it'll be worked on but they'll probably have to find a team in the US to do it given the location of the development company. NA servers are a pain in the ass to deal with just due to the massive difference in pings across the region compared to other regions. so what might work in asia or europe may not fix the problem on a NA server and vice versa. i also don't think they expected the game to sell as well as it did and weren't prepared for it.

Still playing the hell out of this game. Been a while since a MP shooter has just had me straight hooked. Also helps when you have a couple buddies who always want to play too.
Yeah, being able to get on discord with ppl u know is great. I typically avoid random squad games and just play solo when I dont have my friends on. I've had way too many of the "WORST".ive been very lucky with random squad games. People are always helpful... but when you get a bad group , its the WORST.

has anyone been having their ump go into a burst like mode while in auto. I think its a lag issue. started noticing it the past week.
how do you see your latency?Have not seen that one yet.
For giggles I played on the EU servers through VPN tonight and found it to be a huge improvement over local US servers :| Never once had issues with hit registration and overall server latency was way down lol.

I wish we could know our latency. I'm guessing its 90-130. just my estimate based how are far shots have to be lead at distance to hit. I havn't had issues picking up items but if you move too quicky while picking up it doesn't grab the item sometimes. like if you try and pick up items without stopping. I get that door bug rarely.I don't believe that you can see your specific ping yet. I was referencing the stability and smoothness of the responses to the server. Such as opening doors, picking up items etc. I never once had issues getting items I wanted to pick up actually picked up. There are times on US servers where I have to try 3 times to get an item to actually pick up. Had an issue a few days ago where I opened a door, could see through the opening but the server blocked my entry as it thought the door was still shut. Try again and now the door shuts lol.
its just clothes. you're the only one on that fence I think, lol. now is a good time to start playing cause the game is running pretty smooth although theres still some hickups sometimes. and first person only mode is coming next week so if you dont like 3rd person theres that.On the fence about getting this. What does the micro transaction situation look like? Did they say there will be game changing rewards? If it becomes P2W then that's a deal breaker.

I'm running it at 1920 x 1200 on Ultra at about 70 to 75 in the least optimized situations and about 90 to 95 in the best on a 1080 Ti. 980 Ti shouldnt be more than 10 to 20 FPS behind at stock.
