I actually see nothing wrong with this, but commuters were reportedly “shocked” by a woman using an iMac on a train to London. Everyone seems to be reporting this as a full desktop, but an iMac doesn’t even have a tower, so this isn’t that impressive...

"I had to look twice, I was shocked to see such a large computer on the small table. At first I thought she was a staff member, so I actually walked past, and then thought I had to take a photo. "I work for a software company, and been traveling on the trains for about 15 years, I have never seen anything like it. The lady had a full wired keyboard and mouse. " I am still puzzled why someone would carry a desktop computer around, when a laptop would give her the same options, with more portability."

Damn, those chairs look comfy. And yes, if I could I would also bring my desktop with me.

Inyet regardless, I bet she was doing the exact same thing that everyone with an apple laptop was doing.... browsing Facebook ;)

I see a user who is most likely fed up with high dpi tiny screens, and probably actually uses their computer for content generation. They found that a large screen enables them to get more done . instead of squinting and fidgeting around for tiny tools on a tiny screen at super fine resolution.

while they may be a mac user i applaud this person for bucking the trends and working comfortably.

I've seen people using these at Starbucks so it's not that surprising if there's power, space and wifi available some one will do it.

How is this news? Same as a laptop only a little more cumbersome :(. Most newish trains and buses have outlets you can use.

So those iMacs have all the guts in the monitor? In which case this is just like using a laptop that has a keyboard that separates?

Not really a deal, kind of seems like reaching for new. But that article reminds me of the silly news articles that pop up in Sim City 2000, and has made me interested in playing that game again.

Fake news!

Now maybe if it was a real desktop, at least a mini tower...

I actually know a guy at work who carried around a real desktop and used it for presentations and stuff. It was a sff one made by alienware. Not an all in one.

Is this a first class commuter train? Why would anyone be shocked by the privilege and entitlement for the special people that transport themselves on this form of transportation?

dear telegraph.
No, i will not unblock ads. I can get the information from a bazillion other places.

Not sure I would qualify any all in one as a desktop, much less an iMac. Honestly that thing is only slightly less portable than most larger laptops.

It's the UK news. People aren't surprised any more. They're SHOCKED. You don't criticise opponents any more, you BLAST THEM. The pound doesn't have normal falls and rises, it COLLAPSES and SURGES.

Hyperbole is the standard in the UK in the media these days. Getting bored of it... sorry, IM ENTERING HAVING A MENTAL BREAKDOWN DUE TO EXTREME REPETITIVE MENTAL STRAIN INJURY.

Goddamn, thought that was a joke

I suppose it's nice she's using a membrane keyboard, I would've enjoyed seeing a Model M.

Lol, that looks like the 27" model too. I think the woman on the train was using the smaller one.

What's the difference between this "news" article and slut shaming?!?

Maybe after buying the iMac she had no money remaining for a laptop!
