does anybody know of a network cable that has the flexibility and durability of like an extension cord?

i'm thinking just like having 100ft 200ft 300ft lengths for temporary construction site data cable installations

something UV stable and able to be walked on, etc...

usually just run bulk wire and if it gets ruined it gets ruined... at the end of the job it just gets thrown away...

seems wasteful...

Rather then trying to idiot proof the cable, invest in a cable tester that will tell you where the problem is. After a job, test the temp cable, cut out any damaged parts, keep the good parts for reuse on next job. Construction apprentices make excellent "Will it break?" checkers and will likely overcome any level of idiot proofing.

wat?

i just want a durable reusable network cable that's constructed like a high quality electrical extension cord...

i'm not trying to make anything idiot proof, just more durable and re-usable... the kind of cable trucks can drive over and you can have strewn across a concrete floor with foot traffic

yea, i was thinking preterminated kind of like.... audio equipment, constructed like PA system NL4 cables or microphone XLR cables...

You should get a cable like that with ethercon connectors. When you need to use the normal RJ45 connector, you either unscrew the shell or put an ethercon barrel on the cable and use a short patch cable. If you're worried about durability, the later is the best option as the ethercon connectors are not likely to get yanked off the cable.
