Ryse Son of Rome Free

In fact I aborted this.
It would have taken until next Friday to download at the rate it was going.

And, I had to use Task Manager to get the program to stop. Fishy....

I'm going to do a complete clean on my system.

Do not click the link.

Is this actually free? It says you play it for five minutes to activate it, and you can keep it on Gamesessions forever, Want it on Steam too? Buy a Steam key in game. Why have it in two folders? Consfusing.

You must have small library of games and miss out on some great titles if third person puts you off.

Actually I've got quite an extensive library of games. By small you mean 100 titles? Because that's what I have. I can't for the life of me get into 3rd person games. I tried, but it's just not the same as 1st person so i don't enjoy them.

I've been playing the game for about an hour, and I'm liking it. Thanks OP. The download was a little slow (not as fast as Steam). Good game though, and Steam is selling it for $20 right now. I think it will be available for about another week.

You're literally missing out on some of the best games ever made (Witcher, Deus Ex, Mass Effect).

I know. When I first saw The Division I thought I was in heaven. Gave the free weekend a try with it and when I found out it was 3rd person I cursed up a storm. I just can't get into 3rd person.

I would almost classify that as a disability worth seeing a therapist over. Lol

I love FPS games as much as the next guy, but most of my favorite games if all time are third person. That sucks man... sorry.

100 titles is nothing, I think I have like 500 games on Steam alone. :p

Well the 100 games I have are my favorites, not including the other 300 which are crap/old/3rd person I uninstalled on Steam, Origin & Uplay :D

Lmao!

I used to hate the older third person games as the movement felt janky and the camera would drive me crazy in some games. With newer games I actually prefer third person as first person feels so claustrophobic and I hate having a my weapon take up so much of the screen. Heck on larger screens many first person games such as Crysis 3 and Doom look ridiculous IMO as the hands and weapons are freaking gigantic.

As someone who put over a hundred hours in the game, I can tell you its far more in depth and less repetitive then it seems. Maybe hours 4-10 might be, but after that it opens up more techniques. Especially when you get to Legendary difficulty with all abilities unlocked.

for $5 I'm tempted but I'm not sure it's even worth that...sounds more like a tech demo then an actual game

No way... not a tech demo at all... it's a great game & tells a solid story...

It's a very linear path, intending to hit all the story points / triggers & keep moving forward vs. wandering an open world wondering WTF do I do next?

My "yardstick" for games RE: value = $1 for each hour of game play.
~ ie: for $20, I expect a good 20 hours of gameplay // $60 = 60 hours of gameplay, etc.

Yeah, I win some & lose some w/ that value system, but this game delivers 10 hours on easy (but I was also exploring a lot - the environments are beautiful) for $5 is basically $.50 cents per hour of game play!

Totally worth it to me.

I also hate third person, even tried multiple times to play some allegedly good third person games, but it just does not work :) . I am OK with top down, isometric, not third person - it just annoys me to no end.

I won't get another gamesessions "free" game. I recently got Worms and when it finaly finished installing (and looooong advertising clips) it asked to create a gamesessions account or facebook, no big deal. I played 5 minutes and the game is now mine, but every now and then the game pauses for ads/promotions. I was playing with my kid and he eventyally went to play with the xbox since the games paused a lot for ads.

Yup.. never again for me as i have experienced the same from the last time they gave this same game away free.

No thanks!

I enjoyed it and would recommend it for free or $5 for sure. It has some memorable levels that are above and beyond the normal fodder out there.
