A producer at Respawn Entertainment claims that the Xbox One X is capable of rendering Titanfall 2 at 3200p when the console’s GPU is pushed to its limit: occasionally, the system may render at 6K resolution and downsample those images to whatever resolution the Xbox is outputting to. The result is “truly glorious on a 4K display.”

…although the Xbox One X outputs at 4K, there are times when Titanfall 2 can actually render higher. Naturally, this isn't a scenario that is a constant occurrence, but it is still impressive to hear that the upcoming Xbox console can render the title at 3200p, which is a little above 6K resolution. Of course, every game will be different depending on how much load is being put on the GPU.

In glorious 30fps.

Titanfall runs at 60FPS on all platforms. I am guessing how they got to 6K is that they are using the base 1080p assets and haven't changed any of the shader detail or anything, so it is like the game is running on medium/low settings. Still with that kind of super sampling I am sure the game look much better.

Hardly surprising really, its not like the engine it uses (a version of source iirc) is taxing on many gpu's these days.

Well woop-tee-fuckin' doo!!

So many shithead master pc race guys on here, its sad lmao.

If you still think the XBOX ONE X @ $499 is not worth it, you need to step up your reading.

( This coming from someone with all the current consoles and pc in my sig )

Also, Blizzmeister..... This is the [H], not a particularly console focused site. How does this escape you?

I don't think many are shitting on the consoles, I think they're making fun of the absurd claim.

It's important to note that rendering at 6k means nothing without the details behind the render. If you're rendering low quality assets in a blank area, yeah, you'll hit that.

6k Loading screens perhaps.
That one always got me back in the c64 and Amiga days, awesome loading screen, pixels galore after!

But wont deny it, those games were fun.

ill be honest. I played rocket league on a 2012 acer tablet with intel graphics last night cause I really needed to get a game in..

it was at 640x480...

it was a low point. I know.

I bet this is at the same visual settings as the regular XBO though. 6k at near max PC settings with those extra LOD distances at 60FPS with 16xAF and the better Temporal SuperSampling the PC version has and then i'd be impressed.

XBOX One X for $499 is still not worth the closed platform that it is. As a XBOX One Owner, I didnt buy it for the hardware, I personally bought mine for Gears of War 4..

It's GAMES not HARDWARE that sell consoles. Not the other way around.

then ps4 wins if you listen to the internets....

sorry you own a PC.

This reminds me that I haven't jumped into a game of Titanfall 2 for some time.

i really do not give a flying, fliputy, frick about the push to make games in the most absolutely ridiculous resolution possible. Give me a shitty looking game with a well developed Story and ever evolving plot that is engaging and translates into 20-40+ hours of play time.

I'm going to be that one guy lol, you know it's cross play on PC right? I got my One for Halo collection and Halo 5 (what a joke...) but I got Gears 4 on my PC and haven't looked back. Looks pretty decent in 4k too :)

Only if you buy it on the Windows Store. My copy of Gears 4 didnt come with CD code for windows.

That would still be equivelant to 4k at 60 fps. And still 8+ people liked your comment.
Maybe because the trend to aim for higher resolutions and more eye candy when many games still can't even hit 60fps is getting fucking old. Something tells me this is not a consistent 60fps running at 6k.

It's 2017 and it's no by no means a guarantee a AAA title can hit 60fps at 1080, even on the console refreshes. What's wrong with this picture?

rofl - a console doing 6K hahahaha. they make such great sacrifices to get to 60FPS why bother?

Ahh, screw it, here it goes:

well duh. multi-core multi-ghz setups with ram measured in the tens of gigs and storage with speeds in the GB/s range and 1 or more GPUs that cost about as much as a console it'd had better be a better gaming experience and it so is.
