I paid for ColorEyes Display Pro from Integrated-Color. I bought this back in 2010 and paid for an upgrade in 2012.

The company is now out of business. I bought a new laptop in May and I can not install and use CEDP since it has to be activated over the internet. Since the company is out of business this is not possible.

I am also probably going to build a new HEDT in the fall and I really would like to be able to install CEDP rather than buy a new color calibration program.

Is there anything that I can do to be able to install and active the software that I paid for and legally own?

I would think that there should be some way for me to be able to use what I paid for and legally own.

If the software was activated online to work, you never owned it. You merely purchased a license to use it.

But that's the case with almost all software: you're paying to license it for use, not own it and do whatever you want with it.

Anyway, if the company is no longer in business and you cannot get it activated for use because of them being offline and gone forever, that software is pretty much dead in the water to you. Unless you can find some info at some support forum someplace that might provide a way to potentially transfer or copy/clone the activation that's already in effect to another installation/machine then it's dead, Jim, and it's not coming back. :(

Well, you could always try a 3rd party calibration tool that can use the device like https://displaycal.net/... but if they nuked the activation server then unless you can crack the phone home/key or auth method you are probably up a creek.

When I searched Duckduckgo for "CEDP crack", I found some. Virus scan the shit out of one of them and hope for the best, or find a different software solution.

The software is dead otherwise.
