Steam Summer Sale is live

Not sure if it's because the Canadian dollar sucks right now but the sales don't seem as great as previous years.

I might pick up Shadow of Mordor though.

The newish UI makes it hard to find things. The curators is not a bad idea, but it should be a secondary way of browsing.

Dark Souls 3 is pretty good. Depends on what type of game you like though.

I've been playing with the idea of picking up Civ VI... kinda want to wait for a GOTY edition, though.

Gauntlet though...! :D

Meh, I don't think I've bought anything during a Steam Sale since they dropped flash sales. The discounts just don't seem nearly as good.

Anyone know what these stickers actually do? It is just badges?

Was not expecting it, but I bought 3 games from my wish list that were on sale: Rebel Galaxy, Wolcen Lords of Mayhem and Galactic Civilizations III+Crusade Expansion.

Started playing Rebel Galaxy last night and enjoyed it so far. It is somewhat simplistic in play design (not true 3D movement in space) but I understand why. Build up your crappy ship with better stuff and buy better ships, do missions, trade between stations to make money, battle pirates for bounties type of game plus a main story line.
Have not tried the others yet. More for the queue. :)

Steam is becoming clutterred with useless shit like that, I wish there was a way to opt out of it or turn it off completely and never see cards, badges, stickers. I just want a clean client with games!

Millennials man. Gotta get those achievements because they got nothing else going for them. It's not really all their fault but that's who Steam is targeted at now.

Normally there was some kind of benefit to collecting these.

I just wish there was a way to bulk list at last sale price for my cards, haha.

Ugh, I hate achievements, cards, etc. The first couple games with them were fun but now that I don't have time to play games really they're so meaningless and kind of irritating. It's way overdone.

If you're on their mailing list they sent out a 40% discount code on the loot boxes... I don't know if they're recipient unique though.

Is Tomb raider for $24 worth it? Think they'll run a flash sale for even cheaper? I have a $25 gift card for steam & have wanted to play TR for awhile.

One thing that I don't like is the inability to purchase extra copies and store them in your inventory. Now, the "gift" option only allows you to immediately gift the game to someone already on steam; there is no longer an option to "store in my inventory" for later distribution.

Plus, if your gift is not accepted by the recipient, it will not return the game to your inventory. Instead it said it would refund the game.

Thumbs down on that change.

Yeah, they made this change not too long ago because I guess the gift system was being abused, somehow. It is pretty stupid though, I agree.

Funny that CS:GO is $10.04 if purchased separately. If I buy the Valve Complete Pack, the pack is $6.09 and includes CS:GO, HL:Source and CS: Condition Zero.

The Counter-strike complete includes CS:GO and CS: Condition Zero, the cost is $8.15.

Thanks for making this an easy decision Valve, I'll get 3 games for even less.

It's the opposite with some of the rocksmith songs. The individual songs come out to less then the complete artist packs

For pinball fans, season 4 of Pinball Arcade (includes Adam's Family) is 75% off
Also Pro Pinball Ultra: Timeshock is 50% off (I've never seen it on sale before) for 8 bucks

Yep, same, enjoyed checking the flash deals several times a day. Boring weak ass shit now.

I really don't see much difference. Before they might or might end up being 75% off at some point, but now you know from day 1. I guess someone who was inclined to check could just look at http://isthereanydeal.com/ and check the history on games that were around before they ended flash sales, but I suspect it'll largely be the same.

The discounts have been drastically worse since they got rid of Flash Sales. There were way more 75%+ off items before on Flash deals than there are now on the general everyday deals.

so is GTA 5 ever going to drop below $30? You think it's ever going to be $15 or $20?

I don't really like oblivion or elder scrolls because there it too much traveling and the pace of the game is too slow. However I really enjoy games like AC or god of war. In your humble opinion do you think it's worth it for me?

I doubt it any time soon. They probably still sell a decent amount. When 6 comes out it will drop to $10. Still game is worth every damn cent at $60.

Picked up Hollow Knight for $10ish and it's really really good.

Also grabbed the Talisman six pack for $7ish and gave some copies to friends.

Holy $#^%&%#&^#%&^!!!!!

FULL THROTTLE is on sale! It's actually been remastered! One of the best games of all time.

Steam keeping it classy, still showcasing Early Access bullshit games as "featured items" for their sale.

No

Pick up Tomb Raider Legends if you haven't played it. It's the best of the series by far IMO.
