AMD Vega Frontier Edition Available for Pre-Order at Newegg

No gaming optimizations or radeon relive control panel I take it with this one?

Lot of power!

They're still sandbagging the specs on the water cooled model..

75W more and same flops?

Reference Radeon RX Vega is the same except for less VRAM and different color scheme (grey and red).

Perfect. I was going to say the cost is ok for workstation I suppose... for a gaming card it's a bit high.

Is running a single 8 pin into 2 a good idea?

All about the amps. How many wires are + and negavtive in an 8 pin pcie connector? I think it's 3+ 5- . If they use 18awg wires, each one can carry 120w safely.(10a @ 12v) so 3 will move 360w safely . So I'd say a single 18awg 8 pin cable could handle a 300w card. As long as the connectors and PSU can handle it as well.

Same "up to" flops. How real numbers stack up, i'll leave it to you to figure out.

I can't get to the egg page anymore, they pulled it as it's OOS already... weird behaviour.
Are you sure it said 'up to' for both cards in the specifications tab?

So 51% faster than a Fury X? (8.6 Tflops). I don't see any reason not to directly compare the Tflops? If true that puts it right in the middle of a 1080 and 1080ti. If they squeeze a little bit out of the gaming version extra it'll match a 1080ti. I'd normally say I hope they are ready to sell this thing for $500, but the mining crazy will probably save them.

Its going to be difficult to keep them as efficient as the rx5xx or the gtx 1070's. And per rig most miners try not to go over 2000 watts unless they have a separate building for their mining and wiring to compensate for that. So @ 300 watts a card (if that is true), not many miners will be picking up this card cause lets say it can be down clocked and underclocked it will still probably be at 200 watts, x6 cards, that is 1200 watts just for the GPU, add in the rest of the card and other pieces, its going to end up around 1500 watts for a full 6 card rig at a price that is more than double Polaris, so its going to need to hash at more than double.

lmao ffs I see it.
Was looking for specs panel. Saturday night, maybe time for an early one.

That doesn't bode well. Makes sense why the discrepancy with the spec on newegg then.

Welp, I hope they hit 1080ti specs at $499 then!
