If any of you missed last nights press briefing by Microsoft or just didn't want to sit through the 90 minute presentation, there were quite a few gems. One being the sequel to the Wolfenstein reboot, entitled Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Returning hero B.J. Blazkowicz will be back to kill some Nazi scum or a Nazi hippie as the game takes place 20 years in the alternate future timeline in the decade of love. I enjoyed the "shoot" of the New Order as did most, hopefully they will be new entry to Enemy Territory soon.

Check out the reveal.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a fictional story set in an alternate universe in the 1960's. Names, characters, organisations, locations and events are either imaginary or depicted in a fictionalised manner. The story and contents of this game are not intended to and should not be construed in any way to condone, glorify or endorse the beliefs, ideologies, events, actions, persons or behaviour of the Nazi regime or to trivialise its war crimes, genocide, and other crimes against humanity.

That looks sweet. I was disappointed in the end of the first game but honestly how did I think it would end? This looks like what would need to happen next anyways if the story was to continue.

I can definitely get on board with this one. I'm liking what I'm seeing. Haven't played a Wolfenstein since RTCW either so it's about time for another run at one.

Damn never even got around to finishing the first one, man sometimes it sucks being old and having to do other things in life!

I enjoyed the intro with the TV shows. I really want to know how "German or Else" turns out!

Strong Man in the High Castle and Bioshock vibe from that.
Wolfenstein New Order was the same vibe and EXCELLENT. Perhaps the best single player FPS I ever played. Very interesting storyline. As if the Nazis had won WWII

HELL YES!

The game looks amazing and killing Nazi's?: sign me the F Up. pre-ordering for sure.

"You can't take away freedom from Amercians!!!" - now where have I heard that before? Wait I have to think: EVERYWHERE

I mean c'mon I know originality is overrated, but this again?

At least the gameplay looks much better than anthem.

PS: That's probably the worst cgi cat I can never unsee.

I hope that cat monkey is a bit of foreshadowing into genetic and surgical experiments.

So what? The game is supposed to be a heavily nationalistic throwback, it's AMERICA vs the NAZI's. BJ is supposed to be the epitome of the macho, American, male soldier. Have you ever even played Wolfenstein? Also, you misquoted that and also quoted it out of context.

Oh, that wasn't a cat, go watch it again. Seems like you just wanted to find stuff to complain about.

C'mon. 'Murica. You don't like monkey cat? Everyone loves puppy monkey baby, why can't you love monkey cat?

I-KNOW-NOSINK.jpg I see nothing; I know nothing!

Bingo! I'd buy that for a dollar.

But that's exactly what I'm complaining about. We had so many of those that it gets tiresome. Especially if you're not american. Murica this murica that! Murica the great! Murica the free!

It still looks like a seriously fucked up cat.

New Order was amazing... right up until the end. Some definite what the fuck moments (crippled lady is suddenly a full on Tony Stark Ironman more advanced than any of the German gear?) and the last boss battle was a bit of a disappointment. Other than those small issues, I would still give it a 9/10.

I'm not sure you're aware, but the Wolfenstein series of games have ALWAYS been this way. It's the very core of this game's story. FFS, in the original back in 1992 you fought a Mecha Hitler. What you're complaining about is akin to bitching about a Duke Nukem game being too mysoginistic. If you feel there are too many of these games, just don't buy it. Market demand will dictate whether or not they make another one. Apparently the last few made plenty of money, so they are going to keep releasing them.

It still looks like a seriously fucked up cat.
Look again. That's a cat's head surgically attached to a monkey's body. You can see a metal ring around it's neck where the two attach to each other.

You're NEVER too old to kill Nazi's!

And, I have to agree with M76, that's a seriously fubar cat. I'd get the game just for more of the cat-things. Cat-thing + reactor control room = hilarity!

After watching the trailer I jumped on the hype train. I wonder if they'll still have the choose your path options that slightly changes the way the story plays out like The New order.

The concept isn't really new, but I definitely liked how they implemented it. Different set of abilities, different story, etc. That was one hell of a mind fuck making you choose who lives and dies. Not only that, you HAD to choose or else the game ends.

Also I have had this as my lock screen background for quite some time.

For openings, I wasn't expecting the mechanical pet appearing from the treeline. That grabbed me and didn't let go throghout the remainder of the trailer. I am definitely getting Wolfenstein II.

That is the point of the theme. It is over the top, silly and stupid. The main character looks like an action hero from cheesy 80s action flicks. The last game played exactly like one. You hold two guns for fucks sake. I really liked the last game (didn't care for the Old Blood much) because it was a well paced shooter without grinding, open world, and repetitive shit. The maps were fairly diverse and you went from realistic looking WWII Europe to retro looking sci fi space stations. The length was perfect (14 hours if I recall).

When there are dozens of open world time wasters, it is refreshing to see a good FPS come out. I would prefer a game with a better story, but this is the best we can get in 2017 it seems.

Hopefully its Vulkin this go round lol.....cause open gl runs like shit on AMD:(

I will remain hopeful with this one, Old Blood was great until I upgraded my computer and it ran worse... Still, nothing has come close to the clammy-handed, white-knuckle fun of the original back on the Apple II. Miss those days, I recon.

That's why I'm asking do we need more of the same? Seems boring to me.
Maybe it's just me but I can't seem to be able to occupy myself with simple mindless shooters anymore. They'd need to come up with something revolutionary. If I recall correctly the last shooter I enjoyed was Singularity. Even Doom failed to get my attention enough to finish it.

Yeah, I think it is time for me to buy into this series, that trailor was awesome. I feel the need to reskin the nazies with antifa mods though..lol

I agree looks just like the last two games.....

Ah good, looks like it picks up from where TNO left off, and the trailer already answers some questions I had from the story/ending of the previous game. Well cool then, sign me the fuck up for this one. Aiight MachineGames, you got my attention again. The last one ran in id Tech 5, too much to hope for id Tech 6 and Vulkan support for this one? In the meantime, I need to finish The Old Blood. Really enjoyed TNO so yeah I'm down for TNC.

I can't think of any shooter outside of CoD these past few years with a campaign. Essentially every shooter and action game has moved on to "open world". I thought Wolfenstien had excellent map design, fun mechanics, and no fluff. You never had to fight the same outpost over and over again (ME:A we're looking at you). Doom I thought was a 6/10 at best. Maybe a 7 simply because it ran so well and was bug free essentially.
