Whenever I install a RAID controller or HBA in my PC, I get this weird message at boot and am unable to start my PC unless I remove it. I have tried installing an AMCC 9650SE-4/8LPML and a Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 with the same results. My motherboard is an ASSuck Z97 Extreme 6/3.1.

Is there anyway to make it work?

Below is the message I get and the controller cards.

Did you plug in the 4 pin power connector on the motherboard?

Maybe your power supply is flaky if it is plugged in.

Post a pic of your board all connected and we will tell you if confused.

That message seems pretty damn straight forward. Plug in the connectors, your motherboard can only supply a certain amount of power to the PCIE slots, and you are now trying to use more.

All of the power connectors on my motherboard are plugged in.

Except for the extra PCIE power connector on the bottom left of the motherboard under the last PCIE slot. Page 8 in the manual, item number 30. Did you even look?

Ok, I didn't know there was a third power connector. It is pointing down not out and so there is no room to plug in a cable anyways.
