I can barely comment on Shadow of Mordor’s story since I spent all my time leveling my character instead of completing the main story quests, but I am going to assume it was at least serviceable based on the game’s reception. This new peek at the sequel’s story suggests it is pretty epic, but I might be missing out again if they are letting you power up just like the original game.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, winner of more than 50 industry awards including the 2015 Game Developers Choice Awards’ Game of the Year, Outstanding Innovation in Gaming at the 2015 D.I.C.E. Awards and the BAFTA for Game Design. Developed by Monolith Productions, Middle-earth: Shadow of War features an original story with the return of Talion and Celebrimbor, who must go behind enemy lines to forge an army and turn all of Mordor against the Dark Lord, Sauron.
 
I enjoyed Shadow of Mordor until one of the captains kept "appearing" in the middle of a brawl and killed me. Then that captain became so overpowered that he was impossible to kill. Kind of took the joy out after that.
 
I played this first to total completion.....This game looks like its going to be just as good as the first. Lets hope it lives up to that. I for one cannot wait.....
 
I think EVERYONE was blown away at what WB studios was able to do both graphically and story wise with the first game. I'll definitely be picking up this bad boy (a few months after launch) at a reasonable price.
 
I'm looking forward to this. Shadow of Mordor is a lot of fun. I'm a bit behind on my gaming, but plan on finishing it and picking this up.
