I have a client who keeps complaining to me about employees wasting time on social media and games on their desktops.

The company has no windows server and just a cheap nas box for their file sharing.

What is a good / cheapish web filtering program I could put on their computers?

Tell client to fire employees.

Turn on Windows Firewall and block everything but necessary work related sites.

Make them sign a form telling them any attempt to bypass the firewall will be grounds for immediate termination.

I don't think this is the OPs business to provide business consultations to the owner. He's asking about a piece of technology that can help the business owner with time wasting on company computers. Additionally, I can't recommend blocking everything except for business related sites. That's a sure fire way to make sure your phone is always ringing because they can't access site after site.

IceDigger - Check out OpenDNS (now w/ Cisco). This might be a good fit for the setup.

Put in a Meraki MX64 with advanced security. Works pretty well for small offices.

Or open DNS, whichever

Cheap ass customers are not worth anyone's time. Pay for what you want, or go away lol

My mistake - I had this one mixed up with the charity thread!

I stand by what I said - I would go Meraki or Fortigate with the security suite.
