World of Warships Enters Open Beta!

I haven't done carriers. If one were to learn, where should I start and what's a good training video on Youtubz?
 
To be brutally honest, I would not suggest playing carriers until the rework. The UI is pretty dam shitty, making it half of the battle and the players the other half.

yeah i just feel the changes they made a while back with the different mouse clicks and shit turned CV's into a confusing mess but didn't feel like spending the credits rebuying a cv to see just how bad it was.

but you got a lucky game was a T7 cv in a T5 game, pretty much an automatic win for the hiryu if you have a basic understanding of how the games played.. but with it being you i kinda feel bad for that enemy team, lol.

I have seen a lot of afk people in the last couple of days . Wonder if something's up
 
I haven't noticed many afkers.

I'm still on my hard core Atlanta stretch. It doesn't get old.

I did play a few games with kid and mango in my Neptune. Shooting down 50 planes doesn't get old either. :)

there is nothing quite like rolling up on a DD or cruiser that is unaware at short range with an atlanta

Something is up. Since the last patch, I've had NUMEROUS games never leave the welcome screen. It just sits there forever, and WoWs is basically locked up.

You have to quit to alt-tab out and kill WoWs with the task manager.

When you re-load WoW's, it takes you directly to the battle you were supposed to be in. You could be sunk already, pissed on in Chat for being AFK, or a multitude of different outcomes. If you're lucky, you can just throttle up and go fight and no one ever noticed :)

It's happening at least once a night to me lately.

WG needs to grow some fucking skin. It will be interesting to see how they survive this mess. They actually threatened a DMCA hit on him because he would not take it down. Really? You dumb fucks. I guess you have too many customers and supporters and need to thin things out, huh?

I mean, even JINGLES has quit. Damn...

Yea, what a shitstorm that has been this weekend.

I am a subscriber of jingles, and continue to be so. It dont matter to me very much what content he is doing, I just like his way of doing the videos.

would like to add, after he posted the video stating he quit the community contributor program (NOTE, NOT quitting WoT or WoWS) he GAINED subscribers.. The way I understand it, he will continue to produce content with them, just wont be as much of it, and not as soon in the case's of reviews, since he will now get them at same time as joe schmoo
 
I see a whole lotta ass-kissing coming from WG over the next week.
 
3rd day in a row of sub 10% win rate, really having fun trying to do this event. Today I've won 1 battle out of 17 played.

Not point really, all you'll see is most of the team hiding as far from the enemy as they can. Its not really a surprise they're losses, its just annoying as hell to do this day after day.
 
haha, what a dumb dumb. That people portray any type of surprise in these scenarios is a clear indicator that they have no fucking clue what they're doing. Case in point...

I just enabled replays right now and I'll try and get some screens, I'm sure I'll lose a bunch more tonight. So much fun getting 1500+XP losses.

lol!! nice shot :).

On that note, the guy then said that the citadel fix for Iowa/Montana would have prevented that, and that would only happen against a montana anyway. I assured him a yamato would have met the same fate in his position :p

Thanks! I've never cit a Montana with the Zao as you have to get closer to do that. The Montana is a considerably tougher nut for cruisers to crack in that regard. I really hope the Zao and other Tier 10 cruisers can still beat the shit out of an Iowa when it goes broadside like that, however. It'll be the first thing I test in the new patch.

BTW, I have gotten a 5/6 Citadell salvo from a Moskva on a Montana, also with Des Moines (super close though) , but over all you're right, it's not as easy to Citadell with a cruiser.
 
Yeah, Moskvas are just able to do that. If I can catch a Montana showing his underbelly in a turn there's no question it'll be citadel city with any Tier 10 cruiser. But range is a huge factor due to that shell pen drop off

I just gotta say it. What you manage to accomplish in this game is... is... is God-Damn amazing.
 
I'm really enjoying his holiday weekend 200% Xp event. 3 wins for 18 games, really makes me wonder why I play this turd still.

OMG.... You know what I just discovered is SO much fun?

Sitting back at about 20k with a Tirpitz firing HE (yes, HE) and basically setting the whole GD enemy force on fire. LOL Talk about annoying the hell out of the enemy!

I got way more damage credits doing that than I normally do.

You can't beat AP for those close in, broadside touches of love though :)

Call me Spam King. I don't care LOL

When I'm fighting a bow on yamato or kurfurst , I will switch to HE too in a Monty, and even Kurfurst, however usually I'm close enough for the secondaries to start setting fires and getting to an angle where i can get good AP pen

I am considering using the Anshan for ranked... was sold on it in the latest warships podcast. Good chance Anshan/Cleveland. I need DE on the Anshan, only a 16pt captain, guns have a nice crackle. I'd end up having AR/BFT/DE/IFHE/CE/turret rotation for the Anshan. Tempting to switch BFT with SE.

Took her for a spin, not bad!
