Motherboard with best fan controls? (re: Z270 motherboards?)

I'm currently using an Intel 6700K with an ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming. It supports ASUS Fan Xpert3 which is OK but it doesn't support fan hysterisis or delayed fan spin-up/spin-down. The other Z170 motherboards support it but not this one.

I know I can install ASUS AI Suite but I'd rather not.

So... what's the best Z170/Z270 motherboard with the best fan control? The ASUS Maximus IV Hero looks good and supports delay fan spin-up/spin-down via BIOS settings. The EVGA boards also sound nice but a bit expensive and only support fan hysterisis but not delayed spin-up/spin-down settings.

Can anybody give me some recommendations? I do like ASUS but I'm open to anything.

Buy a Aqua Computer Aquero. Then you can plug everything in, have very fine-grained control over your fans, and move it from computer to computer when you upgrade.

Aside from that, they all kinda suck IMO. The fine control is all based on installing the somewhat unreliable software they pump out. The other option is to use a 3rd party software like Speedfan.

I've heard of that but doesn't that just involve installing another piece of software? It seems like BIOS control would be the most accurate/stable? (ie. the external controller needs to poll the motherboard for CPU temperature, etc, instead of the BIOS directly reading the CPU and then controlling the headers?)

Not a fan of Asus AI Suite. It would be just fine if it actually allowed adjustment of fan speed on GPU temp. No idea why GPU temp was left out.
