So what are the rules for credits during Sprints? Only WU's DL'd and UL'd during the challenge period? Or does DL not matter and only UL?

Any credit received during the event period. Only a one day bunker since they announce the day before. Only one I've heard of is PG that does the DL part. Could be more.

I switched over too, not going to have much of a chance to bunker so I'm just gonna let them ride it out.

Oh btw, we have the top all time producer in Rosetta in our league. It is not going to be easy, unless we produce 740K+ points per day. They have 131 active crunchers in a month.:(

Switching over to Rosetta now, have done about 100k on both Universe and Asteroids so far to try and gain us a couple points in each.

Looking like 5.5 hours per task on my work 3770s, I'll fire up rosetta on my home PCs when I get off work

Just switched over; just too much going on. Looks like this is a project that wants HT turned off, or at least cc_config set to 50% of total HT threads. Remind me, does just telling BOINC in the config settings to use 50% of the CPUs 100% of the time the same thing?

No, 50% of the time will run all out half the time and 0% half the time. Its useless.

He means run 100% of the time. On 50% of the CPUs. So if he had a 32 core system with HT then BOINC sees 64 cores. If he selects 50% of the CPUs will it run 32 processes on each core?

Ah I read it has the same thing as 50% CPU time, which is junk. No matter what it would still prob be better to turn it off in BIOS.

Well his problem is he probably doesn't have physical access to the rigs right now and probably wont before the sprint is over.

So will he be okay running them with HT on anyway or is their a cc_config he can use to prevent it? Basically what can he do remotely to prevent this.

Pretty sure that's the issue here.

50% of the CPUs will limit it to 1 per core, like HT disabled. Then it's up to the OS to keep it there.

Cool, hope that helps you fastgeek

mmonnin has the sprint officially started counting points yet? I see that it's already 22:00 UTC.

Well we are in 1st By a little for our league

Dumped mine only to get 4 tasks. 1 each for my 4, 4P boxen.

This is a shitty project.

Oh I see why now. All of their servers, except 2, are down. They need to get their crap together already.

I wasn't pulling in anything either on one of my boxes till I unchecked the default check box of limiting hard drive use to 10gb. I just left the one at 50‰ and it started sucking down wu even when the servers were showing red.

I saw the down servers too right when the event started. The processes are all up now. But the WU count available to send is 1/3 of what it was when Rosetta was announced.

In the computing preferences somewhere disk usage area on the client. I'm away from any computer right now taking my new first grader out since she graduated kindergarten

On the BOINC client? It's not limiting any disk space on the BOINC client. The web site shows 100GB on the disk usage page, but no way to "uncheck" it.

But sounds like it's probably server issues now

I have access to all of these boxes; but that's just it... it's 14 boxes. Connecting to all of these, be it through IPMI or directly, is a PITFA; so if there's a short cut that's "close enough" I'd take it. :)

Got 1 of the machines at work switched, will get the other tomorrow, and have Rosetta fired up on both my personal rigs. Got a bunch of WU on the work PC earlier, tonight not even getting enough to saturate my sig rig.

Holy crap, just looked...

Ready to send 8,610
In progress 560,700

There will not be anywhere near enough WU for this sprint.

At least we're beating EVGA right? lol

1o57 Wanna suspend the World Community Grid work and sign up for Rosetta@Home for the weekend to help us get 1st? Then you can go back to WCG.

Was at a wake/viewing all day today- and funeral tomorrow- so if you can detail EXACTLY what you need (ie, what do I need to D/L, how to join the team quickly) I'll set it up tonight- I've got two machines I can throw at it right now, but don't have my GPU rig back up yet (blew one of the power supplies, probably an issue from when we moved offices with it)-

If you can get me pointed in the right direction tonight I'll be more than happy to throw in...

Use the same email, password and username you use for World Community Grid. It will make things easier down the road.

Is there a quick way to bypass the Communications Deferred status I'm seeing? Or is it just because I just joined that project?

I'm not sure what you're referring to. Where are you seeing that?
