DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

galletabah: Maybe but I can't give any guarantee for it.

Update: Here are some shots directly from the CoolJag factory the samples are ready to ship:

They inluded a 100m fan for testing I can select if I want it or not.

THX for Pitchures :)

Really like the look on the all Copper Version

I was not expecting prototypes this quickly, even if they are just photos taken from the factory. I can't wait to see some results!

Out of curiosity, did you also go forward with Lian Li's suggestion, or no?

dondan did they include the x99 ILM mounting kit? OMG, my 5820k is ready for cooler temps and a slight overclock!

Edit: AAAAAAH! The second bag says 2011 so yes!

Copper hands down looks the nicest. I hope they both perform well.

Copper base and zipped fins are awesome. 100mm Fan is good option too (similar fan cost less than 10US).
Cutouts for mounting screws imo better be smaller - 4-5 fins total, but not big deal.

I think black anodizing give premium look on cheaper version.

I know there have been several revisions.

Is the height 48mm with no fan mounted on the top? Sorry if this has already been said. It's a long thread.

Out of curiosity did they just CNC the bits and throw these samples together for you hand-made, or did you need to pay to get a set of tooling done to obtain samples?

You can mount a full size 120mm fan on top or a low profile 120mm fan (max. 15mm) under the heatsink.

Can we do both if we put this in a bigger case? Says "or," in the description, but I'm wondering if there is another hole for the fan brackets for a fan on top at the same time, like the Noctua NH L12?

I'm sure that you could jury-rig something, but... Why would you?

If you have more room for a cooler, get a cheaper, larger cooler.

Well sure, we can always zip-tie something. Two brackets would be nice and clean and easy though, if that is possible, which is what I am wondering.

And to answer your question: at 48mm and full copper it is a more intriguing and still slim option for cases where you have a little more height, but not much, assuming the testing holds-up to our collective hypothesis on the copper performing well. E.g. in addition to being a great option in the Dan case with one fan, this could be an option in the Ghost S1 case, or other cases with 65-70mm of clearance, with two slim fans, with room to spare for turbulence issues.

The heatsink have holes for buttom and top mounting.

Awesome, thanks. Will there be an option to purchase 2 brackets? If your reviews turn out to be good I might get two of these, one for my other Dan case and one for that other case, if it happens.

Just saw that you're making a great heatsink - any chance this will be available to order alongside the v2 case in the kickstarter on Sunday? :)

Of course I'm not expecting delivery of the heatsink at the same time as the v2 case, safe to bet the heatsink will come later this year I'm assuming?
