WSUS OS upgrades being pushed to downstream replica servers

I have a WSUS server that I'm going to be pushing Windows 1703 upgrades probably within the next few weeks.

We have hundreds of computers to upgrade, and 20 locations (downstream servers). However, when I go look at the downstream servers, it shows that upgrades aren't being downloaded, and it's grayed out due to being a replica server.

Is there any way for me to make the downstream servers proper replicas, and allow the upgrades and other things I approve to be pushed by the downstream servers? Doing drivers would be nice as well should we look at enabling that feature.

What Version of Windows Server are you running? I had WSUS running on Server 2008 R2 and it was working.....for the most part. Well, someone installed some software and tanked the WIDS database. I spun up a new 12 R2 server and installed WSUS. It seems to be running a lot better than the older version. I actually have computers that are completely upt to date now vs getting some updates, but not others. I also figured out a way to changed the amount of RAM that WIDS can use to help with performance too.
