Vega performance compared to the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti and the Titan Xp looks really nice!

He can also post on AT instead where even mods got bought by AMD (XS all over). Then he will be all safe from any reality. Only a world where Red Team and Red Team Plus rules.

Then you can talk with the others on how much better Vega is than the 1080TI and Titan Xp while only sipping power and how cheap it is. Because that never backfires!

Oh, and here is Vega Firestrike:

AT is a cesspool of AMDrones. They even get to vote for what is a troll post to the mods over there. Post anything true about AMD that they don't like and they all send the mods a PM saying it's a troll post. Mod warns or infracts because the "community" said so. I rarely post there because it is nothing but an AMD echo chamber. You even have idiots saying things like AMD only wants to sell you a good value and they aren't interested in profit like NV. LOL

There's no doubt in my mind that the unnamed individual that stated the profit crap is a poster here under a different name.

Yep, it is not at all difficult to spot the trolls around there parts. PS: It is not you.

There are plenty of trolls around here and over there, but they are every flavor. It' s not limited to any single company. I also fully believe we have paid trolls from every company running around these parts.

I've used it once. The boards are much nicer to browse. Potentially could use it again. It's one thing to have a different opinion, but something else entirely to be so persistently abrasive that someone sucks the life out of every thread.

You should not get discouraged from participating on the forums , in the CPU section they are already gone, The level of interaction can only improve by the likes of you showing up and doing something rather then being "scared" to post , just don't go overboard if you are being trolled :) .
It is rather pleasant in that CPU section now. Now if those that still tread here would just go...

I don't mind negative opinions but the constant berating from users that will never buy an AMD product, camping AMD threads, well that requires some moderating.

I am not expecting much from Vega, maybe 1080(non-Ti) competitor. Not sure why so much hate if it doesn't beat Nvidia. Hell, if you need performance now buy what gets you there, even if it means buying Nvidia.

Having no expectations is the best :) . I tend to go with is it worth the money performance wise . If that box is ticked I'm happy with almost anything ;)

You do realize you are going off one bench right. Ran off an early engineering sample. There are new revisions of the chip out. There is also C3 revision that no one has seen benches from. You say that like you have a product in hand and know the true outcome.

Yeah yeah people said the same thing about Polaris. This is AMD we're talking about here, Always Manages to Disappoint.

Polaris engineering samples were reportedly running at 800mhz for first revision. By the time it launched it was at 1266. So You are are right only in the sense that AMD has disappointed in Video cards for since polaris launch and with bad marketing with Fury. But there was a significant difference between polaris ES samples and launch cards. If we go by the same math Vega should be over 1500 for the final silicon to what AMD has already reported for the MI25 card for deep learning.

Lets say Vega rocks it, will anyone here eat a hat?

Only if you promise to buy my ocean front property in Arizona.

Any who, with all the "crap leaks" coming out in favor of a GTX 1080 equivalent, whoop dee freakin doo. June time frame for Vega=Julyish for AMD. Then September rolls around to a 2070/80 release with GDDR5x 11Gbps memory and available, with GDDR6 models 5 months later. Want to replace my 980Ti that I went with because FuryX was a let down when it launched.( I know it got better with drivers, but that was too late as usual with AMD) I need a card that can push 4K on a projector was hoping Vega could do it at a nicer price point then Nvidia's 1080Ti.

There isn't one Vega Firestrike, I'm guessing that's most likely the smallest one, there's C1-3, C1 being the smallest. That's really not too bad for an engineering sample. I doubt it will sip power, they'll probably come close on performance and use more power.

That was only reported in Sisoft, and searching Sisoft now it does not exist.
The lowest speed I see is 1000MHz.
However this is Sisoft and it does not necessarily read such ratings correctly, case in point that 1000MHz 67DF:C4 states it has 3GB 5GHz memory.
Compounding potential for the misread is that a Vega is in there with 344MHz clocks...
Yeah I really do not think it is running at 344MHz.
But even if the 800MHz was correct, remember there was talk at the time that AMD had issues with clocks specifically with the Polaris design (although that rumour may had started because of the 800MHz 'leaked' test result) and we have heard nothing like that this time for Vega.

The other tests have more accurate data on GPUs.
Cheers

These are steppings, not SKUs.

Also, no C3 bench was sighted from all i know.

Nah, that rumor was independent of it, i know the history of that debacle well. And yeah, there is nothing like that on the rumor mill for Vega so far. Making it all the worse, considering that Vega should be entering production at this point to land in time for Q2.

RyZen was rather tight lipped until the last month. Vega is even more so which in a way makes you wonder if no one even have these to test yet. Maybe only certain AIB's get the first batch, hard for me to believe ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and other top brands do not have the chips now to put into cards making leaks more likely. Samples out may well be underclock until finalized just like RyZen samples were. If 1200mhz samples are out for engineering testing and certification for AIB boards with locked down clock speeds then no real performance or final performance would be known - like RyZen samples. I would expect top Vega chips will be hitting 1500+, at least that was AMD's stated goal or rating would indicate.

There have been some hints that Kyle and crew already have been testing.

Still nothing, huh?

At this point I'm starting to believe that the Nvidia insurgents are talking Vega up in the hopes that people will be let down...

If all the bases are covered, one of them will be true.
Best to find strong evidence before going down a rabbit hole.

Just let RTG release then we will see. Not much more to be done. If it fits what some folks want and will buy great.

I did not get that hint but that would be good if AMD is reaching out for some quality feedback and different viewpoints. Either Vega is 100% reference designs or AIBs are just as quiet as AMD dealing with Vega that is if they even have any available for them to work with. Nvidia was pretty much reference designs for the first two months of Pascal even though they would called F___Editions, took awhile for the AIB one's to hit, wonder if AMD will follow suit like Nvidia.

It'd be nice but it will never happen. Can't even go into the AMD section and post anything good without the same tired trolls shitting on it. I'm on this site all the damn time, I go all over in it, but I rarely venture into the video card forum because of it.
Ironic, considering I see you in Soapbox all the time.
I don't have a hat-eating confidence in Vega sucking.

Btw Microsoft has yet to release a fully featured Forza Motorsport on PC...
It's coming this year, so I hope your colon is prepared.

Perhaps because in the SB deliberate trolls and such that seem to infest the video card forum are dealt with swiftly, so actual discussions can be had :)

I hope it's not just AMD ref design, as their previous designs have been super bare bones in the aesthetics department. At least Nvidia FE cards looked respectable.

Hmmm, to me the FE design looks stupid. I care more about the performance aspects, combined with cooling and noise

What, you want an econobox driving your PC instead of a Lamborghini?

Problem is, we're in the "Who Cares" zone. I was a decade-long AMD customer who simply got tired of waiting and bought a 1080ti. That means it will be 3-5 years before AMD has any chance of a shot at me.

Well your not the only one and that is the price AMD pays for being late to the party. Still Vega can be very nice for future buyers, waiting just plain sucks.
