Hey,

Does anyone know if this is actually a "NAS" drive?

I currently have 14X Hitachi 7K3000 2TB in 2X ZFS RAIDZ2 pools and some disks have started to fail (6 years old now!).

This is the closest match to the Hitachi's I could find.

Thanks.

The P300s are basically 7K3000s (I use them as local storage / scratch drives on most systems).
Shame that they've started to fail. Are you getting SMART reallocs / pending reallocs or some such?

Thanks. I just wanted as close a match as I could get. Bit weird they don't advertise them as 24x7 though. The 7K3000's are (or were when I bought them).

I use ZFS and am getting some transport errors on a few drives. I've tried connecting them to a Windows PC and using Hitachi DFT but that fails.

Uh oh, I think I should qualify my statement.
Not sure whether you meant the Ultrastar 7K3000 or the Deskstar 7K3000.
The P300 = Deskstar 7K3000.

*shrug* I run my P300s 24/7/365 anyway :p
(actually pretty much darned near any 3.5" HDD I have)

Thanks. I replied before seeing the pictures. They are literally exactly the same drive! Good to know as the Hitachi's aren't readily available anymore, in UK at least.

P.S. As I mentioned my Hitachi drives are 6 years old, so old firmware. Anyone know if there's new versions available?
