Oneplus 3T

If my Honor 6 would go boom I'd pick either OnePlus 3T or Honor 8. But since I don't really have any real reason to upgrade these current phones aren't quite large enough upgrade for me. Next year should be interesting assuming that OnePlus phone price doesn't go any higher. Nokia's comeback should be interesting too.

Why be worried about updates from OnePlus ? This is a ROM'ers phone, the 3T should be unboxed and immediately Rooted with TWRP Recovery installed, and the best CM14.1 ROM flashed right away.

CM14.1 is surprisingly very good and stable this early on, and gets better each night.

The OnePlus 3T with the latest CM14.1 Nightly is an awesome setup, giving you a very near Pixel / Nexus phone feel and operation, all for only $439, compared to $800+ for the Pixel XL, and for almost double the price, your only getting a better display and camera with the Pixel, which IMO is not worth a 75% price difference.

The Pixel XL compared to the 3T @ $439, makes me think the Pixel shouid be more in that $599 price range or so for the 128GB XL, that would be more realistic, now when seeing how good this new 3T is.

I have the OP2, and i have not had any issues with it, at all. I even bought it from the Sale section.

I see what OP did with the OP3T, but IMHO, i'm waiting for the OP4 and a SD835-powered phone.

I should be getting mine on the 1st. I'll rock "stock" OxygenOS for a bit and see how it is, and wait for Nougat. I've never experienced OxygenOS, so I want to give it it's time to shine. But, more than likely I'll be putting a new ROM on it in the future.

I'm so ready. I've been using my old HTC One m7 for a few weeks now, and I've probably flased 3 ROMs on it now to get it the way I want.... But, this phone is definitely showing it's age.

Whelp. Mine came 4 days early. Can't be mad at that.

I've been using the phone for about 4 hours now, pretty much all setup. And, I gotta say, it's amazing. It's crazy fast and everything I want in a phone. Posting from it right now.

Also, I didn't know it would do Voice over WIFI. That's awesome. Pleasantly surprised at that.

I got mine Friday (128 Gb)...still haven't switched over to it since I've been waiting on some sim-cutting tool to trim my micro-sim to nano-sim but I've been tinkering with it and installing my apps. Compared to my LG G4, the phone is so fast and snappy.

Heh, just be a man and use a knife. :)

That's how my GFs sim card is in her Moto X Pure. I just cut it myself. Works fine.

You do realize you can stop into your carrier's retail outlets - assuming you have one locally, of course - and they'll move your account data over from the microSIM to the nanoSIM right there in the store, right? Takes like 2-3 minutes at most if the employee actually knows what they're doing, a bit longer if they're fumbling about to get it done.

But I agree in some respects with the post below yours about just cutting it yourself - if you want to spend money on a tool to do it that's fine too but it's typically just a little clamp thing with razor blades inside and it - go figure - just cuts the plastic the same way you could if you chose to do it yourself.

i got two OnePlus 3T today :)

64gb and 128gb, one for me and other for my wife

CM14.1 is out already?

Been running it on my old OnePlus One for a couple weeks now, and it's rock solid. Not sure if the 3T has custom ROM's yet, I know they needed OPO to release some firmware stuff, but I haven't checked lately.

A few developers at XDA have said they will not support the 3T as they did not appreciate OnePlus releasing the T version so soon after the 3.

As much as I don't want to upgrade right now, my current phone is on the fritz. I'm debating between this and the just released (in the US) Huawai Mate 9. Mate 9 is $599, but it comes with a much better camera, massive 4000mah battery, and SD card slot. Apparently Huawai's UI is much better this time around (actually has an app drawer), and the Kirin 960 SoC is apparently a monster. I just can't decide if that stuff is worth the extra $160 over the OP3T. I also don't know how Huawei is with updates to their phones, but at least it has Nougat out of the box.

I am rocking the OP3. One of the best phones IMO. I am running stock and its very stable no issues. This phone's build quality is top notch, I would say better than the Pixel.

Finally pulled the trigger on a 3T. Only had it a day and still setting it to my liking, but this is the fastest Android phone I've ever used. Sure, I would have preferred a 1440p screen. The 3T's 1080p is awfully nice, though. I absolutely love the Home button/sensor. Just tap and *snap*, the screen pops open in brilliant color. Noticeably lighter than my 7 Plus, too. I'll root and install CM this weekend.

I wouldnt even bother with a third party rom. They all claim stability, they all claim better battery life, but they all make compromises at the cost of stability and reliability. IMHO, if the devs that created the rom for the phone didnt implement something in the stock rom, there is a reason. This is why I stopped using third party roms and just rooted the stock rom. Thats the best way to go.

The battery life claims are bullshit, but the major releases don't sacrifice reliability at all, especially the larger ones like Lineage.

I didn't know CM was done. Too bad. That was my go to ROM whenever I had an Android phone in years past.

Battery life is pretty good, so far. Very comparable to my 7 Plus.

I still can't get over the speed of this phone. Much faster than my S7E, HTC 10 and 7 Plus. :)

I'm keeping an eye on this phone to replace my Nexus 5X when/if it dies..

What I don't understand is why people are selling this on Swappa and eBay for $50-100 MORE than the direct purchase price from OnePlus?

Interesting. Maybe they frequently run out of stock at OnePlus? I kinda want to return mine for a 128GB, but it's always backordered.

I am experiencing a Chrome scrolling lag on this device. Only a restart helps temporarily.

It's weird because the 6p and even N6 are fluid.

Is the lag happening on all web sites, and on all types of pages?
See if the lag happens when scrolling on a web page that contains only text versus scrolling on a web page that has to load many images.

I haven't seen any such lag on mine. I use Firefox, however. Never cared for Chrome. Where else have you seen lag on the 3T?

Not on all pages, but on some with lots of contents, ads, images. The Nexus 6 is smooth on those pages, though. I've googled this issue, and seems like I am not alone. I have tried the other browser and it didn't have lag. I think its the damn Chrome.

After several days with my 3T I can say it's easily the best, fastest Android phone I've ever owned, and I've owned or used them all. The only drawback is its lack of an SD card. My 7 Plus has 256GB and I've filled only about 40GB, so storage isn't a big concern for it or my 3T. I think I've got the best of both worlds with the 7 Plus and 3T. :)

I've got my 3T running Nova Launcher Pro. I'm fine with the Nougat/Oxygen OS. I rooted it only to get Titanium Backup and a couple other apps. It's also really nice to be able to use MightyText on my PC and laptop, again.

Just got a notification the Nougat 7.1.1/Oxygen 4.1.3 OTA update is available. Anyone have any problems with it?

Well, a little late to the party but just bought a Midnight Black OnePlus 3T. Jumping ship from a Huwaei P9 so I expect quite a noticeable difference.

That's a nice looking phone, and I would be getting one if I hadn't just got the Galaxy s7 when T-Mobile had it on sale for $360. I loved my Oneplus One.

Wow, while it doesn't have near the battery life that the P9 had it is blazing fast. It updated to 7.1.1 as soon as it powered up. Love the feel and design. Great camera. Fingerprint reader is fantastic.

Only downside so far is scheduled do not disturb... I think it has to do with the slider but it should still be an option.

Anyone using the dual SIM? I have 2 AT&T SIMs installed. SIM 1 for talk/text and SIM 2 for data. When I turn on the hotspot, using SIM 2, it works as it should but if I get a call the data drops on the connected device. Is that normal?

Yes. One sim is always in standby. If you are using data with 2 and get a text on 1 it will kill the data on 2, connect to data on 1, get the txt and revert back to data on 2.

I have the same exactly scenario on my Axon 7. One sim TMO the other ATT.
