Looking to pick up a new display for 70% gaming, 20% movies, 10% command line use. Don't want to spend more than $500, but I'd prefer something with IPS, although if there is a TN panel with very good color reproduction and response for gaming I'd consider. Minimum size I'm looking for is 24", max 27". I'd prefer to stay clear of 4k.
I've looked at too many to count but looking for some feedback and suggestions. If I have a brand pref it's with Asus and Acer, but not limited to them. R6 Siege see's the most play, but not on a competitive scale, I play 90% solo classic t-hunt. I play a bit of everything, Crysis 3, Obduction, The Witness, Wildlands, but mostly R6. Currently I'm using a 5yr old 20" Dell 1080p and so I see a TON of tearing in R6 Siege. And g-sync or free-sync I don't care because I swap video cards every 6 months and I'm not loyal to the red or green team.

If there is a Costco near you with the Acer Predator XB271HU still, that is by far the best monitor for $499. Yes, thats the price at Costco if you can find one. The XB271HU is a 27" IPS 2560x1440 144hz or 165hz GSync monitor.

That is a good deal. It usually goes for around $700.

Yea, I was lucky enough to grab one before they all sold out here and won the panel lottery. No problems at all, loving it.

another vote for the Acer XB271HU.

I bought one at my local costco about 2 weeks ago. They had about 8 in stock just sitting there.
There isn't another LCD with better specs for $500. No doubt about it.
