More details have been released on the upcoming title Call of Duty: WWII with a livestream containing not only the previously mentioned reveal trailer, but hosting an interview session from London. Highlighted with development information from Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg, and Sledgehammer Games Co-Founders Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, the stream contained plenty of insight to the process of revisiting this historic era for the vastly popular series.

When we greenlit this game three years ago now, we knew it was time for us to go back to our roots.
… It also strives to capture the intense bonds of brotherhood that came from common, everyday people, who rose above the most epic and horrible conflict in human history.

Set in the European Theatre primarily between 1944-1945, development of the game seemed to maintain an emphasis on staying true and “respectful” to one of the most trying eras in human history, as Glen Schofield would elaborate:

We spent two and a half years researching, studying, taking thousands of photos, watching documentaries, and meeting with World War II veterans. We visited museums, driven vehicles, fired weapons, and used photogrammetry techniques to capture even the tiniest details.

A few new multiplayer modes were announced though not expanded on in-depth, as those will be covered more intently at E3. Those new modes will be available as part of a private beta later this year, with access coming to those who pre-order Call of Duty: WWII. The title has an expected release date of November 3, 2017.

I am excited for this one... especially the next-gen D-Day landing which I have always dreamed of. However, I could have done without Josh Duhamel being in this... makes it less relate-able.

I'm sure he'll do a fine job, he's a pretty down to earth guy.

Hey, what happened to your Razer setup (noticing the sig)?

When I bought the Razer Blade and Core I wanted to part out and sell my desktop. But, I couldn't get the money I wanted so I just went back to using the desktop I had before the Razer setup which is in my sig. I put my 1080 back into my tower, and am now trying to sell the Razer Blade and the Core.

I bought it initially because I needed a laptop for school, but when that comes around in the fall then I will buy a much cheaper laptop. It's an amazing setup but I just wasn't utilizing it and with my desktop just sitting there collecting dust I couldn't let is waste away like that... lol.

Battlefield 1 was very good. The only problem was that the story missions were really short. This looks good also. I look forward to watching the walkthrough.

I still clearly remember the glut of WW2 shooters years ago; I'm not feeling a strong desire to go back to it unless you do something uncommon (Russian campaign) or rare (Axis campaign), and treat it with dignity.

Rentable servers with CONTROL OF THE GAME????

Hahahahahahahhahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Dream on.

A return to a next gen COD2 with mods? Oh fuck yes. I would eat my tires in joy.

Might be cool as long as they get rid of all this kill streak, attachment and other skin non-sense that ruins the immersion.

This is what worries me (at least about the MP). They have to rework the way they do unlocks. Hopefully there is no rapid fire, or super mags, or silencers, red dots, stupid camo, whatever. Keep it authentic. BF1 handled this well, hopefully they paid attention.

I will play this but not all full price. I will likely wait till a summer sale where it's 8 bucks.

Probably be $90. 5 hour SP campaign. Then a bunch of extra DLC MP maps for another $30 a piece within a few months of launch. No thanks.
Activision can go eat a bag of dicks. I'll never forgive them for killing Quake Wars.

I'm in. /and that's coming from someone who won't touch a cod game with a 10 ft pole.

Please don't suck. Please work on the first day. Please have retail CDs available. Please have a good length single player mode.

Do this and I might come back.

I won't be buying unless they bring back true dedicated, rentable servers. None of this match-making bullshit.

There's your roots. Get back to what the players want.

Excuse my ignorance but what's the big deal about rentable servers? Isn't multiplayer multiplayer? I mean, you get online and shoot some people and repeat.

when the hackers kick in and activision does absolutely nothing about them, tell me, what do you do? With your own server you can moderate appropriately.

Plus, with your own server they don't make DLC irrelevant. Have you looked at any of the recent COD's? DLC is a baron wasteland of nothingness. Why even spend the money? Rentable server you can put your own map rotation in place.

clearly, son, you haven't been around long enough to know how valuable rentable, self moderated servers actually are.

I've been around a long time (actually joined these forums in 2004) and used to run my own CS:S server in highschool, but I haven't been one of those who've played multiplayer consistently since CS:S and UT2K4 so I have no idea what the MP landscape is nowadays.

Pretty much one of the reasons I barely play MP. Loved the days of just looking through a list of servers and connecting to it. I'd have like 3-4 servers I'd go to, as I know they were good about banning cheaters. Also stats tracking.

Today...I pretty much only play Overwatch. The others, I play the singleplayer campaign, then never touch them again.

I'm guessing they still use the same gun reloading animations from 2007?

Um no. This peer to peer shit they have been using the last few years is complete BS.

I want an option to purchase the single player only, The MP will be awesome at first then the cheats wil flood the pool and it will be lame very quiclky.

Matchmaking is the worst thing to ever happen to online shooters.

But seriously though, while I wish every game had a dedicated list (and surprisingly, Battlefield 1 has one!), the one's that don't (like modern warfare 2) weren't that bad.

CoD games don't drop in prices. Older games are still $60 and for the most part have rarely ever dropped below $30.

Why you use sites like G2A, Humble Bundle, Bundle Stars, etc. I don't pay MSRP for games. I don't even pay that on release day.

Except on consoles, cause most games don't show up on sites like that to purchase or aren't even on the respective online stores for the consoles.

The game's not for me, personally. But that M1 Garand *PING* sound of a clip being ejected is fun to hear again :)
