WoW; 6h expansion Legion

Even me, when my Guild is off for the night, with no one one, I'll look up PUG groups and it's so hard. My DK is i893, and my Warrior i875, and those are still to low level for people to pick to run NH Normal, or even Mythic +5's and below. They all whisper me saying they want i900 and above DPS. WTF? For NH N ? I could see if I was trying to get into Mythic, but for Normal needing i900 is crazy.

With the expansion 8 months old now, it's all the elitist players left mainly.

Thank you Zorachus. I will switch out my spec today and see how it goes. I'm doing about 350k dps single mobs. If I'm surrounded by 3+ I'll do insane dps. Unfortunately that isnt always the case.

As great as my Guild is, and super group of players, they won't allow me on their Heroic runs yet, until I get my DPS up. They are pretty hardcore, all of their DPS guys doing 800k or higher damage. For the Heroic runs they want a bare minimum of 500k dps nothing lower.

But we run Normal Raids together and up to Mythic +10 with me. On NH Normal we breeze right through it with ease, zero wipes, and just mow down the bosses in quick fashion.

Out of frustration I think I may unsub soon. I ran a PUG last night EN Heroic. I went in with my Warrior, he's i875, with one Legendary. So not super geared, but pretty decent gear.

I am pulling like 450k to 475k dps on average, and after two bosses, the Leader kicks me for having " shit damage " He said I want players pulling at least 600k dps MINIMUM here. He ended up kicking several players, who were doing like 500k dps on average, those players were like i880 geared.

For Emerald Nightmare Heroic, you do not need to be i880 doing 500k DPS.

Yeah being kicked from a Raid in a MMO is the worst happened to me cause I'm casual along time ago I knew a guy who was kicked from a guild in WOW cause he didn't play everyday.

With a new generation of players I feel all they want is to be carried and get gear as easily as possible. They get super upset if the group wipes. Almost as if their time is being wasted. I think this kind of behavior is going to be the new norm for MMO's. It will only get worse.

I tried out fury yesterday but it doesn't feel right. My Arms weapon has 39 levels and fury was 25. My item level drops to 877 so thats not too bad. I just need to get some higher level relics. I have a set of legendary pants specifically for arms as it helps apply colossus smash to any enemies it hits upon landing. Since fury warriors don't have colossus smash its kind of a waste. I'm just not sure what to do. I could barely get over 250k dps against jobs both large and small.

350k DPS was perfectly fine for H EN progression 6 months ago, but my guess is that you've joined one of the speed-run raids for that people run for AP and legendaries. Yeah, when my guild does that it is 800k+ on average and we finish the whole raid in ~30 minutes or less.

What is a i875 Fury Warrior supposed to be doing damage wise ? It seems on average I do like 475k, and can do burst dps of 650k with Enrage.

I kind of ran into a similar dps issue with my Frost DK. He is i887, and I wasn't doing the best dps on him, because I couldn't figure out the BoS spec that well, plus I did not like it, so I stcuk with the MG build, and was doing like 450k dps, but everyone was telling me a Frost Knight should easily be pulling 700k dps at i890 or so. But I had only one Legendary.

I guess my point is, why does it seem a little difficult to get high damage going on a Fury Warrior and Frost Death Knight for me ? Everyone saying I should be doing 600k to 700k dps easily. Not sure how that's possible at i875 and one Legendary ? But maybe it is, and I'm not playing right ?

Yeah doing World Quests and Broken Shore stuff solo, is very fun, I easily kill anything in a few seconds, even lower Mythic's like +5's are easy and I blast right through them. But in the Raids I just can't seem to keep that consistent 650k dps going non stop, and Mythic +10's I can't do a ton of damage like i think I should.

That just frustrates the heck out of me, and makes me almost want to stop playing. Why should it be so difficult to play a Fantasy themed RPG, where I just want to have fun, whack and slash away and kill bad guys. But it seems to master that dps of over 500k is some trick I haven't learned ?

I am new to the Warrior DPS spec. Haven't touched my Warrior since early MoP days, was Prot Tank back then. Dusted him off, got to 110 last week in Fury spec, and now at i876. Only been Level 110 for like 9 days now, but my dps seems pretty low and crappy. I even got kicked from a EN H run last night, for being 8th out of 10 DPS players in that run, for low damage per the leader.

My rotation is as follows;

Single target / boss = Charge + Battle Cry + Rampage + Odyn's Fury + Raging Blow + Bloodthirst + Furious Slash, and during a long boss fight I then mainly do Raging Blow + Bloodthirst + Furious Slash, and wait for Enrage to proc to start that mini rotation, or Rampage to activate.

When boss is low on health = Execute + Raging Blow + Bloodthirst

Multiple targets / trash = Raging Blow + Whirlwind + Bloodthirst

Any advice ?

My Guild mates crack me up :) These guys are pros

One of the guys said he wanted to try out a Death Knight, after hearing my poor dps damage I was doing, he said would level one up to get a good feel for them, and then guide me directly on what to do.

He created a fresh DK, and by Sunday morning was level 106, with i815 gear level already. Don't know how he had such high iLvl before 110 ? And at Level 107 was doing 300k DPS already as Unholy. Sunday night he DING'd 110, later that night was at i864 iLvl.

Over the weekend I went from iLVL 877 to 890. In that time I think I mastered the fury spec, however my single target rotation is a tad different from yours.

Charge > Raging Blow > Rampage > Battle Cry > Rampage > Odyns Fury > Raging Blow > Bloodthirst > Furious Slash > Raging Blow > Rampage

Then if I'm feeling fancy I'll heroic leap away and charge in for more rage and Rampage again. I've got a good 90% up time of Furious Rage? Rage? whatever the 2 second proc is I forget.

Throw in a whirlwind before Rampage or Bloodthirst for multi targets. I'm hitting 600kdps or about there now.

Cool thanks for the details, excite to try this out tonight. My Warrior Fury is currently i879 gear.

Curious which server do you all play on ? I recently switched to Zul'Jin and really like it.

I'm on Fizzcrank. We were on Sargeras but moved a few years ago since the girlfriend didn't like open world PVP.

I'm on Aggramar. Think Fizzcrank is part of that group. I never realized how outnumbered the horde is until the color changes. Sometimes it feels like 10 to 1. Glad it is PvE.

Ha, most of the time its Horde outnumber Alliance. Even at Blizzcon we're outnumbered, when we do faction yells the Alliance sounds "Glory to the alliance!" and Horde sounds "FOR THE HORDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111"

There is definitely a different mindset for Alliance vs Horde players. Hordies tend to like the PVP servers.

Funny I've been playing WoW on and off since launch Nov 2004, that's almost 13 years now. I can't recall any other game I have come back to so often like this. yeah there are stretches of expansions I did not like where I unsub, like WoD most recently, I hated Garrisons, made the game feel like a single player, I played Dreanor for like 3 months and never went back until Legion.

But a bigger thing to me is the right Guild. If you can get into a good and friendly Guild, that's supportive and willing to help lesser geared players, that goes a long way to making the game more enjoyable. I recently just joined my Guild this year, but knew one of the players in game for the last several years just running old Raids and dungeons together for fun. He invited me to his Guild and man oh man, what a breath of fresh air, and they help people gear up, and with advice and tips. They are on Discord when playing, so is nice to talk to them while Raiding and doing M+.

If I wasn't in this Guild, and just my old Guild, which was quiet, and only a few Raided with elitist attitudes, and never in vent or disocrd. I would probably have unsubbed by now.

Went back to Tanking on my DK, and man does it feel so comfortable again. I am i891 with 5200k health unbuffed, with just 1 Blood Legendary, and still a mix of Unholy and Blood gear.

I was running some Mythic's last night, and up until +8 I couldn't die. Ran +2, +5, and +7 with ease, laughable how smooth and stress free it was. But then ran Court of Stars +8 and that got tough, with that purple shit on ground after you kill mobs.

Gear mog's for Death Knight's, t19 in my opinion is one of the better sets in a long time. Especially on a Blood Tank it looks very tough and like something you'd wear in battle. The Mythic colored set, as well as the Greenish / brown heroic sets both looks great.

Actually the best T19 is the deep red Elite PvP set, that isn't available anymore, but that one on a Blood Tank is hands down #1.

This set just rocks, too bad I missed it;

And I hope to get this Mythic set one day, might not be until next expansion;

on thrall myself, putz#1218 if anyone wants to do M+

I think I may be done with Legion. It is Monday, and I haven't really touched the game since Wednesday. yeah I have logged in a couple days since for maybe 5 minutes, then left.

And I have been playing Legion since launch, for like 6 nights a week nonstop, this would be the longest break I took so far, which typically means I am fading out from this expansion.

A lot of it stems from the Guild progression in Raids. I have become the off Tank for the Guild now, and they are super cool guys, really fun, but when it's Raid night, they are [H]ardcore, and we Raid heroic NH, every Tuesday night and sometimes bleeds into Thursday nights, or we run other raids like ToV or EN H, etc... But last Tuesday I made a few mistakes on the adds, and not taunting them quick enough, we wiped a few times overall in the NH Raid, but completed the entire Heroic run.

I got a whisper from the Guild leader right away at the end, he said, man, you really need to brush up on the adds stuff for Tanking NH, he said here's a some links and homework for you, watch these three 45 minute videos, and here's a few Google Docs to review, and a website guide to read.

Since then I have not played.

I think I got turned off by that, I play WoW as an escape to have fun, and not super serious. Actually this is my first time ever running hard content like current Heroic Raids, all my life in WoW I have always been a bit more casual, doing Normal Raids at the most.

All the Guild members are 25yrs old to 30, they are single with no families, most live in aprtments. I am 43 with kids, and a house, etc...

I had the same thing happen to me last week. I hadn't raided for a good few months, so I was rusty and this was my second class because I changed form what I was playing previously, and I did crap. From when I was raiding in EN I was always top 3, but after I took a long break I hadn't cared much.

Anyways, after the riad I already knew I played like shit, but I had my guild officers in discord being me down to the private channel and just let me know I needed to improve and what not, which TBH is correct and I should have been prepared, but it's just like you feel like shit because you know you could have done better, but you were just not into it that night.

Man this thread brings back memories... good times; WOTLK was my favorite MMO experience ever.

Legion has been out, what, 8 months now ? I seemed to have hit a brick wall, and quit cold turkey. I haven't even logged on this weekend, that's a first since it Launched back in August. My Guild does ' Mythic Mondays ' as we call them, we all get together and run everyone through several M+'s to get the good gear in Tuesdays chest. I didn't do it last night, which is a big no no.

I think I got burned out by getting serious with the Guild this Winter, and being the Tank for their Heroic progressions stuff, and it got way too stressful lately, if we wipe more than one time in NH it's a big deal. They drop me down in Discord to tell me to learn how to run better, and do all this stuff, etc...

I thought, why ? It's the same old stuff, run NH H weekly, do the M+ stuff, rinse and repeat the same Raid the same dungeons week after week.

Plus it's Summertime, I like to be out do stuff with my kids, and other things besides WoW this time of year. And with no new content since January, I just feel bored, and lose interest.

Can anyone here run WoW at graphic settings 10 with everything max fine ? I am talking about with at least decent fps too!

Yep, I run at Ultra maxed out every setting, with 4x AA, at 3840 x 2160 4k res. And a lot fo times' I am in the 65 to 90 fps range, only sometimes dropping to 30 or 40 in intense spell fights

It's funny how I seemed to have quit cold turkey almost. I haven't logged on for like 9 days now. I just logged on now this morning, stood around for a few minutes, with zero interest to do anything. It's like I mentally checked out of the game already, just can't get into it right now.

I seem to do this a lot in WoW, when a new expansion comes out, I am hot and heavy playing it all the time 5 to 6 nights a week for 3 to 6 months, and then the same thing happens, I get sick of the game almost instantly, like a flip of a switch, one day I am still loving the game, the next day I am done, and want nothing to do with the game. Strange how that happens to me. Right now, I am not looking forward to Raid night Tuesday with the guild, it's become too stressful, can't wipe on any boss, and I have been running the Nighthold Heroic Raid now for a few months, and just not into it now.

How is wow these days? The official forums seem pessimistic, but most games do on theirs. I'm an eso player thinking of wow or ff14. I love Pvp, and like raiding in top guilds for pve.

Eso is a good game for me but I have done everything in there too much practically, and am starting to find myself not wanting to login. The last time I played WoW was in burning crusade, and a couple of weeks in wotlk, before returning to daoc. I always prefer dps or dps healer roles in games that allow for it.

Maybe I am burning out on mmo's, but I am starting to hate grinding which is part of why I am considering changing games.

Logged in twice this weekend, stayed on for five minutes each time and couldn't get excited to find anything I wanted to do.

It's ten days now since I've actually played. My Guild is emailing asking what's up. They want me in for the weekly Raid runs.

Running it at 10 without any problems other than starting to get bored with the lack of interesting content. 2560x1440 at 100hz.

Well, I got traits 52/48/48 on my main, don't see any point of grinding AP.. just logging to do emissary and PvP WQs, and submit gold missions on als. Played Prey last week, did not bother with any dungeons or M+.
Waiting for ToS to open.

Just cancel you sub at this point. Idk what you want people to say. Everyone reaches this point in a MMO eventually. It was that way with ffxi a few years back. I log on with a plan to do something and just end up standing around town for 10 mins then log off.

WoW got better graphically, no more empty spaces without anything, like hellfire peninsula. There's a lot of stuff to do in Legion with all the world quests, but on the other hand, it is all more of the same.
Raids have super complicated mechanics both dps, mellee, and tanks. No more tank and spank boss fights.
Classes got simplified to the point of 3-5 button rotations, but each spec has unique flavor, not a mish-mash of this and that.

Umm, if I'm not grouped I can decent FPS with my setup in my sig, but when there's like 15 plus people in my group it slogs like a mofo. I usually have it set at 5 when I raid or in large groups.

So it's been over one month since I've ran with my Guild, which is my longest time off in WoW in over a year.

I've logged on a couple times a week still, but don't last 5 minutes before logging off again. Not sure what happened to me ? I seemed to have completely lost interest in the game. Zero ambition to do WQ's or anything.

I also think summertime doesn't help either. I rather be out doing stuff now.
