Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands

Nice to see such a patch coming out seeing as how I'll be getting the game next week via the current Nvidia promotion. Hopefully I'll be able to find some good coop players as the AI looks pretty damned horrible.

I notice my FOV is out more now as a default when my weapon is holstered. It's not bad although it might be out a tad too far for my personal taste. I see no way to change it. Other than that, everything seems fine.

There is an option in the settings to increase the distance, never tried to see if it will go below zero though.

Yeah, they've made improvements performance wise. I'm running it on a 1080 at 1080P with mostly Ultra. I had to turn some stuff down as I wanted to keep my minimum above 60fps (60hz monitor). If I go full Ultra, I get 35min, 70max, and 53fps avg.

Got a bit more buggy for me, was testing out NV Surround vs Eyefinity and it wont play, just keeps crashing :( Went back to a single monitor on ultra and when I first start playing there is a bit of a hang up every now and then but after 5 min things are smooth again. Wasnt seeing that previously, however my FPS jumped a bit which is nice. Wont complain about that improvement.

I'm saying they pulled the default FOV back even with that slider at zero and you can't go any lower. It's only standing/gun holstered FOV. Other than that everything is fine. It's not any big deal and doesn't bother me but it's a slight change.

Should I get this game or for honor with my video card I'm leaning towards for honor.

Yeah, I just had not tried to take the FOV out any, I have increased it a bit even with the new patch. Wonder why they dont want it being moved in any beyond their "default".

I've heard good things about For Honor, last person who posted in here was saying a lot of skilled players are in it now so it is harder for new comers unless they plan to stick with it.

Ghost Recon is not "deep" but has a lot to offer if you are not sick of open world games. Disabling most of the aids and playing on hard difficulty solo with the bots or with some friends is a lot of fun though.

My friends and I typically attack the same areas multiple ways before we move on to the next area. Lots to go back and play by disabling everything after we beat the story and collect everything.

Really depends on what you think will give you and your play style the most fun.

No one will probably want to play with me. I go in gunz blazin, for the most part.

I've been known to do that. Just charge in, but still use tactics. More of a rapid target acquisition style. Heck, I rarely use the recon tagging, I like to be surprised.

Haven't done any sniping.

I pretty much do this but I do sniping sometimes.

This looks pretty fun they block the doors with trucks at 14:45

That is a fun base to attack, gone after it 3 times so far. Only once with friends. I usually drop some mines or c4 in those entrances and use the burning remains to block all but the one I want to leave out of. The trucks worked well.

I just got a new GTX1080, and I chose this game for my free game from Nvidia. Played for a couple of hours yesterday. First thoughts were yes indeed this plays like GTA. But the visuals are great (running on Ultra), and I'm actually liking it a lot. The character creation is really top notch.

I'm glad I picked this instead of For Honor, I don't like it when everybody is experts already and easily kill noobs.

Is anyone else running this game @ 4k with a 1080ti? I'm getting around 30-40 fps. Practically unplayable @4k. :(

I wish, I did flip it into Surround for my three screens (5760 X 1200) and it was not too bad, I was getting about 40 to 50 FPS. Sadly the Surround mode was very unstable and the game kept crashing every few minutes, I hope they fix it as Eyefinity was something I thoroughly enjoyed and used. I tried that I believe at stock settings. I'm now at about 1936 on the core which added 10 to 15 FPS to the regular 1980 x 1200 viewing pushing me close to 80 FPS in dense jungles and such so I hope that would translate to 5 or 6 at full surround settings.

I also found that killing bloom helped a lot, pretty sure I did that after the surround test as well. It was overblown anyway and not quite 'right' for how things would really look. Killing that gave me another 10 to 20 FPS back.

I'll need to check out the bloom option.

Rather not play at 1440p or 4k medium settings.

Just picked this up the other day, so far I'm liking it.

Does [H] have a group like The Division ?

My friend gifted me the game today from his Nvidia promo, will probably dive into it in a few days. The android app is over 300MB. O_O

Curious, did you see an FPS drop after the driver update?

I lost 20-30fps when I switched from 378 to the current set of drivers.

Scratch this. The game had switched my resolution to 4k somehow. So with the new drivers I was getting 45-60fps with a mixture of very high/ultra settings in the desert.

With 1080p, I'm able to run full ultra now and get around 90fps in the desert areas of the map.

My FPS seems a little more stable with the game update, but the game overall seems to hiccup more and I've had several crashes :(

If you haven't already done so:

Make sure you have latest GPU drivers.

Also try the Uplay equivalent of "verify file integrity."

For anyone here who has a copy of the standard edition game on PC (preferably one granted by Nvidia code), is there any way to buy/upgrade to the Deluxe edition content? I know you can buy the Season Pass which grants a whole host of new stuff, but I am not sure if the "Deluxe Edition" content is considered part of this or not. If not, can it be purchased a la carte and if so, how much is it?

My current choice of kit:

Assault rifles: G2 FAMAS or TAR-21 (right how I'm favoring the TAR)

Sniper rifle: The MSR. http://www.pcgamer.com/ghost-recon-wildlands-best-sniper-rifle/ <- They are right. It's worth it. Do what this says.

Handgun: M9 or P12 (favoring P12) Going to try and track down the D-50 next. Only downside is that pistol has no suppressor. I prefer to stick with weapons that give me that option.

Needless to say: Try and get good mods and accessories for all above weapons. I'm really happy with this combo. I don't think I'm going to be able to find much better for those respective weapons.

Yeah on the latest drivers, seemed better tonight without any change on my end. uPlay still sucks lol. I think most of the crashes are with that but its been better last night and tonight.
If it happens again I think I'll try the uPlay file thing. Dont really open uPlay other than when Steam triggers it to launch the game so I forgot about it lol.

What's going on here?

I fired up Uplay just now and went to play some GR:W and I had to "relocate the installed game folder" and once it did that I scanned and said there was a bunch of corrupt files and inititate repairs.

I played this game for several hours yesterday with ne'er a problem in the world.

Seeing this on all installed Uplay based games. What the hell...

Yesterday I did a repair through steam (bought it there) and it found about 30 corrupted files. Once fixed it played fine without issue yesterday so I deleted the intro movies again and played tonight creating a crash looking at the sun through the thermal camera. Oh well, hopefully the next round of drivers will be better suited.

Also there's a video out for the first DLC thing pre order's got. Looks interesting but they are marketing it as anything but "Ghost" Recon lol. Long as I can play stealthy and tactical it should be fun.

I really have gotten into a groove of sorts with this game and am really enjoying it for what it is.

Put it to you like this: I loved Metal Gear Phantom Pain's gameplay and I thought it set some new standards in some ways. The story didn't do anything for me.

If I view that game as a "Coke" then this is a "Diet Coke." Broadly speaking. ;)

The first dlc feels like they are going for a just cause 3 thing. At least the first hour or so of it anyway. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet.

From what I've read, it's getting panned left and right. Doesn't fit the theme and focuses on vehicles - funny, considering vehicular play is one of the major complaints (no yaw/rudder controls? The fuck ..). It's also standalone and progression doesn't change the main game (no weapons/vehicles carry over).

My main complaint with this game is the sheer amount of lazy design. It could have been lazy because of a time crunch, or a non-moveable schedule, but it doesn't do anything particularly well. Vehicles feel like ass. The AI seems incomplete. They use teleport / squadmate-invisibility (in code) to make squadmates competent and trick the player into thinking they're smart. Mission design is even lazier, as enemies spawn right in front of you - when your map is so huge, there's no valid reason for having enemy spawns be visible outside of pure "it's easier/quicker to implement." They have a defense mission mechanic, but spawn enemies immediately - no setup phase, and certainly no squad order to "defend this position/objective."

Lots of stuff lacks polish (default helicopter spawn locations within a power tower, floating objects, sound looping). This game needed another 6months of QC work.
