I ordered one at $29 ($32 total after taxes)

Its still on its way. Hopefully its not a complete piece of shit.
 
I assume you did these too.

Execute hardware reset
To reset the Linksys WRT1200AC to its default settings, you have to do the following steps:



  1. Turn on router
  2. Press RESET button for at least 10 seconds
  3. Restart of the device is automatically executed
  4. Router has been reset to factory settings
Execute software reset
With the Linksys WRT1200AC, you can restore the factory settings with the installed software. Log in to the user interface of the router with your access data and execute the steps that are described in the user handbook.

After you have successfully executed the steps mentioned above, the configuration of the router will be reset to factory settings. If you want to log in to the user interface, you have to use the preset login data.

Mine arrived yesterday too. Guess I should test it and let it burn in when I get a chance.
 
I kinda wish I bought two of these for the hell of it... great price @ $32 shipped assuming if the unit works and doesn't crap out on me. I hope it lasts for at least 3 years, but 10+ would be fantastic!
 
I see linksys went the Apple route of "so simple you won't be able to figure it out!" with the firmware...

Just spent a while getting DDWRT on it and setting it up as an AP (have to use the stock Fios router for the cable boxes and such)

Finally seems to be doing what I want it to
 
This is an awesome conversation piece for $30, if nothing else. Everyone and their mother had the oldschool ones. Think mine is new as well. New garage AP.
