Can anyone provide input around this keyboard? Is it any good? Pros, cons?

Pretty awful and overpriced. Their warranty is awesome, but that's about it. REALLY poor switches, really mediocre to bad construction quality. For the $130 it's going for on Amazon, you can get a much, MUCH better quality board.

I have the 10 keyless version, 410 or w/e they call it. I like it. The switches are more "spongy" than my other mechanical switches, but better than a membrane keyboard. I think they did it on purpose to decrease noise. I don't think they are "Really poor switches" per above poster, but some may not like the feel. I agree it's overpriced though. Lighting is cool. For that $ I'd be looking at an RGB corsair or something.

Thanks.

Corsair is having issues with their RGB as per #rgbGate or whatever they're calling it.

I'm looking for something more hybrid, not a gaming only keyboard. I can live without the loud clicking sounds, so actually quieter is better for me. Spongy might be nicer for me, if it is what I think it is.

entropism, what would you suggest at that price point?

I put Corsair and Logitech on the same field, really. Not really well liked in the community, overpriced, and the keycaps have an odd layout, so good luck customizing in the future.

If you want quieter, I suggest Cherry MX or Gateron Brown switches. At that price point, on a full sized board, with RGB (I'm assuming you want all those features) I would look into one of these:

For the price? These would be my bet. I just got one for myself, and the other was what I was debating on. In the end I got the PCGR because it was on a temp sale and I got it for a steal.

https://www.pcgamingrace.com/produc...ll-size-104-key-gateron-cherry-kailh-switches - I liked this one so much, I have one on the way, only with Gateron Blues (clickier). Gateron browns are debatably more well liked than Cherry browns, but they're basically neck & neck. The best part is you can literally order new switches and plug & play with them. Get tired of Gateron Browns? Spend $30 and get Gateron Greens or Blues. Or $40 and get Cherry. Or try out the new Kailh switches which are supposed to be amazing. Whatever. It's all a matter of pulling the caps off, using the included puller, and 30 minutes later you basically have a brand new board.

https://www.amazon.com/Double-Shot-Mechanical-Keyboard-Switches-K6D75S411003/dp/B01LYUZJI2/ - PBT keycaps are top of the line, Cherry switches, excellent company with a great history behind them.

The rest - Great boards, can't go wrong with any of them

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2095 - White LEDs with RGB on the side, but this is one seriously solid board.

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2344 If you upped the budget a bit more, this is one damn nice board. Ducky is one of the best mainstream brands out there. If the budget fits you, I'd buy this one, hands down. I personally couldn't justify the extra $60 over what I bought.

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1662 Cheaper than the rest, and uses LOUD blue switches (louder than anything I've dealt with before), but I got my wife this and it's really solid, especially for the price.

https://www.amazon.com/Tesoro-Mechanical-Individual-Illuminated-TS-G11SFL/dp/B01EISADWE/ - Great board, good brand, great switches. But they're blues, so they'll be louder and more tactile than browns.

https://www.amazon.com/MasterKeys-Mechanical-Keyboard-Intelligent-Switches/dp/B01D3BDNF6/ - Coolermaster is pretty damn solid, and $120 for MX blues and RGB is awesome. $135 for browns is a bit much, but you can keep an eye on the price and see if it varies. This is a very close call, but I'd go with one of the others at this price, personally. If it drops to $100? Snag it.

Now, if you want different features, prices can adjust accordingly. No LEDs or single color? You can save yourself $20-30 and get a damn fine board. Tenkeyless? Same thing.

well I'll defer to entropism as they are obviously more studied in mechanical keyboards. I guess ignorance is bliss, b/c I like my Logitech G410 keyboard lol. I better not try a better one or I'll probably want it lol.

As a G810 owner, I'd recommend it over the G910. I can safely say the G810 is a solid keyboard. The G810 is a less blingy version of the G910 (nobody likes angled key tops, Logitech). They both use Logitech's Romer-G switches, which are nothing like Cherry's. The RGB stuff I could care less about, but the Romer-G switches are pretty damned good. Spongy? Yes. I'm cool with that. I hate clicky. In general, I'm not a fan of mechanical keyboards. That said, I can at least say I gave a modern mechanical a try.

You'll occasionally find the G810 for under $100.

That said, if you like tactile feedback, don't bother with Romer-G. Romer-G are appealing to the membrane-feel crowd. If you're looking for overpriced, loud, and clicky, check out Razer's Blackwidow line.

I've used pretty much every type of cherry switch and tried out a ton of different keyboards.
In my opinion the Orion Spark is the best keyboard available.

The key-caps are better than any other keyboard has, they have a convex shape that guides your finger tips to the center of the key so you're less likely to accidentally hit multiple keys with one finger.

The key switches are better than cherry mx keys. They have a 1.5mm actuation point instead of 2mm so when you press the key with your finger it registers faster. 45g of force required to press the key, the force same as the lightest cherry mx switch, reds. The less force the faster you can press it.

Those reasons alone make it the best keyboard in my opinion, for both gaming and typing.

But I'm someone that strictly cares about gaming and typing performance. Some people hate the keyboard for those exact same features, because they don't like the feel of them.
If you care more about feel than performance you might like a keyboard with cherry switches more.
I actually prefer the feel of typing on fully linear non dampened cherry mx-red switches over everything else, but I'm not willing to sacrifice performance. Most people's opinions on keyboards and reasons they hate or love them are based strictly on personal preference and have nothing to do with performance.

The Orion Spark also has some other nice features:

It has dedicated media keys and a nice volume scroll wheel.

113 key anti-ghosting

The macro keys are well placed and at the same height as the rest of the keys.

It has RGB and all of the fancy RGB features.

It has a nice phone stand on the front.

The only feature I miss is USB pass-through.

The G910 comes in 2 models, the Spark and Spectrum. The Spectrum is the newer model with normal keycaps and normal shaped wrist rest.

I bought the G910 Spectrum for my garage setup last year, and the G810 Spectrum for my bedroom since it was on sale for $75 a few months ago.

Logitech warranty is great, they may be a few extra $'s but you make up for it in customer service.

I chose to not consider any mechanical keyboard with cherry switches, because 1) I would just buy actual Cherry keyboards for that, and 2) they are not advancing the tech by using someone else's switches

So Strix, Corsairs, etc all immediately went out the window, which left me with only G910 and Blackwidow. I went with G910 because of the horror stories regarding the Synapse software, and I already use LGS anyway.

Proprietary keycaps never bothered me, as I generally replace keyboards before the keycaps break anyway. Apart from the keycaps getting used to, I use G910 mainly for its support of per game lighting and macro button profiles. The switches themselves feel similar to the brown switches, Razer's green are similar to blue switches. The G910 spark's keycap shape takes a while getting used to, the issues I have with the keyboard is bigger than the keycap shape and doesn't apply to anyone else, and I knew this when I purchased it.

Thanks for that, I am not entirely surprised by Razer or Logi having their stuff made in China (it's pretty hard to find stuff that isn't made in China), but I am under the impression that Logi developed the Romer-G switches themselves, at the very least, unless I fell for their markets trap lol.

I haven't really encountered too many other brands, so I never really looked deep into them. I know logitech since my teenager days so I tend to prefer to stick to them, even if at a premium. It's usually easier for me to find what the Logi's line can or cannot do.

I am not a big fan of the romer-g switches, they are a little spongy. The keyboard is a little oversize. The way the palm rest is not a fan of. No pass-thru USB, and overall it seamed kind of cheapish is some ways, like they cut some corners, I wish they stayed with the 710+ and just refind and defied it.

Romers are made by Omron.

They've supposedly been developed under collaboration with Omron (haven't dug very deep into it), but they seem to be manufactured in their Chinese factory. So tolerances and materials are on par with most mice using Omron micro switches (I can't think of any mice that use the Japanese manufactured Omron micro switches though).

I have the Orion Spark...I like it a lot. The keycaps were a bit weird to get used to at first, but they're totally fine now, possibly a bit better as someone above said, because you seem to hit the wrong/double keys less often.

If I had to improve something, it'd be that the wristrest kind of sucks, and the Romer-G switches do feel a bit squishy compared to Cherry MXs.

All that said, the idea of this thing:

https://www.pcgamingrace.com/produc...ll-size-104-key-gateron-cherry-kailh-switches - I liked this one so much, I have one on the way, only with Gateron Blues (clickier). Gateron browns are debatably more well liked than Cherry browns, but they're basically neck & neck. The best part is you can literally order new switches and plug & play with them. It's all a matter of pulling the caps off, using the included puller, and 30 minutes later you basically have a brand new board.

Is pretty awesome, with the modular switches. However, one thing I've really come to love about gaming keyboards are the media controls (volume wheel especially) and macro keys to a lesser extent. Not sure I would want to go back to a basic keyboard at this point.

Eh, I thought I would miss it too. I never use macro keys, but you can create them in the software, and I remapped print/scroll/pause to mute/vol-/vol+, and swapped the key caps. So I'm good there.

That being said, I like this board a lot. Just not sure if I should spring the extra few bucks and just get a Ducky Shine 6. Guess I have 30 days to decide.

I got the keyboard today. Works really well.

So far, I'm only wishing it had a higher position so that it is more upright, but I guess I'll get used to it.

I took out the Orion again after being boxed for almost a year or more. The main thing that turned me off was the wrist rest you have a bigger one and a smaller one. They both felt awkard to me at first when I first purchased the keyboard two years ago. What helped with that situation I use the smaller wrist rest now is having a ((Rubber 36" keyboard mouse mat)) on the bottom that helps from the plastic feel of the wrist rest the biggger one is just to big but I figure it's the design of the keyboard really. I suppose they didn't want to have a wrist rest that broke off from the bottom so they placed it on top. People on the Overclock.net forums really like the Romer G keys I like them myself. I plugged the keyboard in for the first time in a year and the firmware updated if you have the Logitech Gaming software installed. Would really like to try a regular key version for the Romer G switches. They feel membrane almost and don't wiggle around as much a a Cherry switch would.

WOW! you can get the regular keycaps

I've had it for about 4 months. No complaints here with stock form.

Would buy it again if I had to.

Ok long story short I ordered a set of these on the logitech website last year but the order never went though.
So they updated their site since since then ordered another set and got them in the mail yesterday they are alot nicer then the angled ones.
I was just sick of the lack of resistance on my Corsair K70 keyboard.

The new Key Caps make it nicer to type on but the elevation is kinda off with the wrist rest but then again I'm using it flat.
Adjust my arms on my chair and feels better to type on. I have a used Logitech spectrum in the mail today going to see if the wrist rest is any better and maybe replace the wrist rest of the original if possible.

Also have X3 Razer ornata keyboards in the mail today Best Buy special at 39.00 each.

Just looking for perfection with keyboard during gameplay.

Nice! I did not know they came out with these. Always wanted a combo the angled ones for the WASD keys, and of normal ones for most everything else. Could make it easy to find the WASD keys fast. May pick them up if mine start to wear out.

It doesn't include all the keys like the macro keys ect....

As a person who is used to (and prefers) Cherry brown switches, IMO the 910 only excels in the novelty aspects - the app, the extra macro keys, the lights - but fails in the most important and basic thing for a keyboard: the typing. Every other box I have, at home and the office, is running Das Keyboards (no frills, just some side mounted USB) and the touch typing on them is excellent. I bought 5 of them a few years ago on a deal and still have 3 NIB ready to go if my two current ones kick the bucket.

If I wasn't such a stubborn / OCD SOB I would have stopped using the Logitech on my main home rig by now, but it's a matching set with the keyboard, mouse and headphones and my OCD is making it hella difficult to break the set.

I do have the new Das 5Q (IIRC - I preoredered from Kickstarter a year / 2 years ago) that should be coming in soon and when it does, I will finally switch everything out.

NEW SETUP: Das Q keyboard, Swiftpoint 700 mouse and headphones TBD

Are the spectrum and spark wrist supports interchangeable?

The G910 comes in 2 models, the Spark and Spectrum. The Spectrum is the newer model with normal keycaps and normal shaped wrist rest.

I bought the G910 Spectrum for my garage setup last year, and the G810 Spectrum for my bedroom since it was on sale for $75 a few months ago.

BTW: Thanks to the poster who mentioned the new upgraded keycaps. My main peeve with the stocker was with the weird stock cap tops so maybe the more traditional caps will provide a better typing experience. For $30 bucks, I'll give it a shot. If not, I can always move it to my backup rig.

Yeah I have both a Orion Spark and a Spectrum Now the wrist rests work on both keyboards they are interchangeable.
So I'm going to look for one on ebay if they are around 10.00-15.00 I just found out the left prong on my new used Spectrum is nearly broke off probably due to shipping I can't win.....I suppose I could just Gorilla tape the bottom of it and not have to worry about it falling or breaking off. I think I'll do just that.....

The spectrum wrist rest if probably the best and most comfortable of the lot been using it for the past few days real comfortable with the regular shaped keys.
