Holy crap. Sick deal.

Wasn't planning on upgrading yet but that's a lot of CPU for $250. Thanks!

The only reason I am resisting this is I am waiting for a better motherboard choice. I want ECC + a single legacy PCI slot + 8 SATA ports. IPMI would be great also.

most of us gotta spend an extra $100 on a new windows 10 copy too - since it's tied to your motherboard --- right?

I'm tempted by this --- even so.

from reviews I've read there isn't much reason to get the 1800x over the 1700 or 1700x - if you plan to overclock.

I agree, which is why I ordered the 1700. But thought I would pass it along in case someone was looking for an 1800X deal because they don't feel like OCing.

I have talked to MS on that subject and you can move your OEM copy of windows to another MOBD and CPU, you just need to install windows 10 like usual and use you product key on the new system, if it rejects you product key when you try to activate you need to reach MS on live help and they will activate you windows manually, I have not tried this yet but I will be when I upgrade my brothers computer.

I scored one very late in the timeframe. It was over a few mins after my confirmation came in. A buddy sent me the slickdeals link. I Was waiting on the 1600x but the 1700 for 250!? Had to. Like many others I was also waiting on some more board choices and bios revisions.. I'm looking at the B350m Gaming 3 now since there are no Itx options yet. Aaand it's mostly out of stock. ☹

Code does not work, as you can only shop from certain sellers.

BUMMER!

Same seller has the i7 7700 (non-k) for $219 and the R7 1800X for $409.99.

Does the Asus "Turbo mode" work on the non K processers? The "Turbo Mode" I am referring to makes all cores run at max turbo-boost, not just "1 core". If so thats a sick deal for a 4 core 4.2GHZ.

I'm not sure about Kaby but my Haswell xeon runs at 3.9 all cores with "all core turbo" enabled in my Asus z97i mobo. So maybe?!

PS. My 1700 shipped today! So the 249.00 deal worked out. I was waiting for that shipping email to believe it.
