I'll take my "cheap" Corsair M65 Pro over any of that crap.

Just have to watch for sales to get the good ones.

Absolutely 0 reason to buy crap, unless you want to continually have to repurchase said crap because it is crap.

Because they primary target audience is 13-23 year old males. Same reason Cold Cathode lighting was all the rage a decade ago. All this RGB shit is because us old folks (anyone over the age of 30) are no longer the target audience.
 
sounds aboot right! I purged all my lighting when I was 24. last light setup was cc black lights with custom painted glow-in-the-dark everything. top of caps, edges of the cards, fan blades etc etc. since rgb mice weren't invented yet I had one of the ms intelimice with the glowing red base.
 
Eh. I like RGB (for JUST my keyboard), and I was ok with CCFL when tastefully (ha!) done, and I'm old. But the robotic, garrish, cheap feeling bullshit is ridiculous.

Us old folks have *never* been the target audience. Funny, because we have way more disposable income than those under 30.

The last "gamer-styled" peripheral I liked was Microsoft's Sidewinder stuff, and that was 10+ years ago.
