For Honor

The betas were fun and the core game is solid. I like the ongoing world battles, etc. Just can't force myself to shell out $60+ for it. Also, steam controller support was all jacked up and did not work at all for this game. I feel like you need a controller to maximize it.
Yeah having physical control sticks is a necessity - I can't imagine holding a block sliding my thumbs around that weirdo pad.

The KBM controls for the game were "okay" but it is incredibly jarring to anyone who's ever played a third-person game on a PC with KBM.

I see "For Honor" being like "Evolve". It's why i've played the Beta, but refuse to buy the game.

What's worse is that currently the game will kick you for inactivity if you're using anything but an Xbox controller.

Have yet to have that happen , using wired PS4 controller on W10 , no extra software , natively recognizes it etc. Not running it through Steam , directly UPlay.

(couldnt get used to the blocking with mouse so moved to PS4 controller , loving the game overall )

why is Amazon (USA) no longer participating in the Nvidia promotions?...is it because of the Gears of War 4 issue?...Nvidia dropped them after that?

Anti-cheat banning Xpadder users?

http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/...rying-to-remap-their-controller-xpadder-39499

If you're on Steam you should be using the built-in remapper, anyway, but a heads-up for those who are not or those who purchased the game on UPlay.
I've used titles on UPlay through Steam and it would launch externally - i.e. not through Steam's launcher (or Big Picture) - has that changed?

Is it a launcher within a launcher? We must go deeper!

It looked fun at the start. But as with all MP games I got quickly bored. The 1-1 duels are fun, but there are too few maps, so it's same crap all the time. The large battles could be fun if not for the 90% of players I met who instead of taking objectives and playing strategically or actually using their brains, just fight in the centre of the map.

If only it had decent single player. But campaign is crap, and I won't be fighting with bots. If someone loves MP titles then it is a game for them, I think. But those who prefer good single player experience and were bored by games like battlefield and other online shooters and such, should stay away.

is it those stupid k/d kiddies?! I f'n hate that in SW:B. I love this:
"you guys suck, I got 132/2 k/d"
"yeah but you lost"
"yeah but k/d! too ez"
"you lost you didn't play the obj"
"but but k/d!"
"YOU FUCKING LOST!!!"

It launches via UPlay through Steam, but you can still use all the features of Steam like the FPS overlay and controller profiles. Of course, you wouldn't get that if you bought the game through UPlay.

I haven't noticed the issue above. I mean, I do notice noobs who have no idea what they're doing yet, but not the congregation of everyone in the center of the map.

I still think it's fun. I've discovered a Dark Souls-like sense of satisfaction as I continue to learn the nuances of the fighting mechanics.

because of last weekend's server issues all For Honor plyers are receiving 3 day Champion status from March 3-5...in addition to the above, Ubisoft say that this weekend will see a special Community Order in the game which gives twice the amount of Steel than usual as a reward

I was trying to explain this game to a guy at work saying it's just like a guy hitting a brick wall every time he swings his sword. Not much fun at least Dark Souls was slicker in Nature more cunning it feels more like a game that doesn't rely on actual sword sound effects for every swing of the Sword.

Ubisoft rebalances For Honor’s unlockables amid outcry

Ubisoft has made it easier to unlock content without paying money in For Honor, rolling out an update that heavily increases the drop rate for the in-game "Steel" used to access new items and abilities

the update, which launched on Friday, increases the amount of Steel generated by in-game matches, Daily Orders, Side Orders, and Community Orders by anywhere from 25 to 200 percent...all told, Ubisoft estimates the changes will "raise your daily first two hours income by as much as 45 percent."...

I'm glad I ended up not getting this game...it's a nice change of pace from Ubisoft but the game has issues

Ubisoft has released a big patch for For Honor that goes some way to addressing many of the concerns of the community...Patch v1.05, out now on PC and soon on console, makes a huge number of balance changes to the game, but the headline tweak is a nerf to the controversial Peacekeeper, a hero considered so overpowered she was recently banned from tournament play...

Is there a way to change your region from like EU to Asia or something like that?
Reason for asking is, im in SA (South Africa) and find it damn near impossible to find any games, no matter the activity rating (High, VERY High), but recently join a "friend" and he said something about not being able to play with EU players, only Asian, but he has yet to replay to my same question.

No, the game's matchmaking system is locked to your continent. If your "friend" is in the Middle East then he is part of the Asian continent according to Ubisoft. The only way to get around this would be a VPN, unfortunately, or to hook up with people from other continents in your friends list.

Game is Free today later on Epic I got the Free version on Steam like a year ago.

I think there are still some hardcores that play it. Mostly fighting game fans as that's kinda/sorta what the game ended up being. I see highlights and funny moments of it interspliced among fighting game highlights.

Is this game even a thing still? It was dead a couple months after release.
They just released a big "Year 3" update earlier this year. Year 3 Season 3 just started yesterday with the release of a new hero. It was relaunched last year with a new monetization model that boosted its popularity. You can still easily find games on the PC version.
