I have a desktop with wired mouse and keyboard. Soon I will work from home and have been issued an HP laptop with a docking station. I dont like the laptop keyboard or mouse that they gave me and am hoping to figure out a way to use full size ones while at home on the desk.

So is there any gadget/method to switch the current fullsize mouse/keyboard between the laptop and home desktop?

I thought about getting a small USB hub and plug the mouse and keyboard into it, then plug the hub alternately into the laptop or desktop as I use one or the other. Is that the most reasonable quick switch solution?

I guess I could get a wireless Logitech set with a unified receiver and plug that into laptop or desktop as needed. Effectively same as the solution above.

Any other suggestions?

You could use remote desktop connection and use all of your desktop monitors keyboard and mouse.

just plug mouse/keyboard into docking station.

If you can install programs on the laptop look into something like Synergy. Its an over the network KVM. At one time I was using it to control 4 PCs with one mouse and keyboard,
