Just wondering what people thought about the BIOSTAR X370GT7 motherboard. I have yet to see any reviews or anyone mention they're using one in their Ryzen build. I haven't touched Biostar in, well, in a long time. I've been trying to wait for an Asrock Taichi or Gigabyte Gaming 5 but it's killing me. The Biostar has been in stock at Newegg for a couple days now...

Should I jump or do I need to step slowly away and keep waiting?

Unless the BioStar is free, or money is no object, I would get something else.

My Tforce6100 939 was really good back in the day. My oldest son has had a Biostar Z87 and 4670k overclocked since the Christmas after Haswell came out, still solid. Their higher end stuff is not bad. Their low end stuff is a step up from ECS.

Biostar's mid to high end stuff has been good for me.
Here's what I have in 24/7/365 service : TA870+ (OC'ed X6 1045T), TA880GB+ (stock X6 1045T), TZ77XE4 (OC'ed 3770K)

Typing this comment from the TZ77XE4 rig (tinkering with the main Z87 tonight).

Doesn't sound like that much has changed. Not sure I want to count on their first AM4 attempt as being a higher end part that works well.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Biostar is just as good as the other board manufacturers. But i would avoid their low end offerings.

Umm, I suggest going on OCN to see how others are doing with their Biostar board. Its doing on par or better than all the other brands right now in the BIOS department.

I love how people automatically dismiss a brand upon past history. Everyone can make a bad product and many of the Asus boards to this day are rubbish at best.

I got one. It was a deal with the free ssd and the better then average sound chip. No issues so far.

If you're irritated at the lack of stock, don't buy Biostar. Just refresh Newegg throughout the day. I picked up my Asus board this way. The Asus and ASRock X370 boards periodically come back into stock. Get one of those. In fact, the ASRock Killer SLI is a helluva bargain. Cheaper than the Biostar, and better.

I can sell you my Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 for cheap and gladly buy the Biostar to replace it :) I swear this is like buying designer clothes for some. It can be a steaming turd that bricks itself.. but its ASUS, it has to be good.

I think the Biostar will work fine. It hasn't had too much of a presence as a brand for years, and there's less documentation on their newer boards in the forums compared to other brands.

They made cheap boards a long time ago and got a bad rep, ASRock used to make crappy board in their low end back in the day, they make decent-good stuff now.

A few days ago there was no review on Newegg on their boards, looks like some people bit the bullet and there's 3 reviews. What makes it more appealing is that it's the only motherboard that is not constantly sold out. If I wanted to I could pick one up at anytime.

Looking at my processor without a motherboard is getting really depressing. I would prefer the hero or the taichi and I can't decide.

I've been using mine a little over a week now. Bios for me was a little hard to get through because I was not used to the layout. Utilities are crap. Otherwise the board has been solid with no issues. It runs my gskill 3200 ram at its correct timings (14-14-14-34). Temps are good but its underwater so to be expected. I wish it had a temp header like the Asus board it replaced but ces't la vie

I decided to be patient. I've got enough boring but necessary projects to do as we moved in to a new house last fall and spring means it's time to work on the garage and landscaping. Yesterday the ASRock x370 Taichi showed up at the local Microcenter and the wife was nice enough to get get one while I was at work. My reward for spending a week beating up on the garage and all the crap therein after work. She's the best!

Thanks for everyone's thoughts on the Biostar.

Post up your thoughts about your experience with it. I would like someone's opinions on that brand.

I definitely will. It will be at least a week though as I got started tearing apart the garage before I got the board. Now I have to paint and organize everything before the bench is available again to put everything together. :(

Bah. Must have rig built so you can listen to Sepultura for motivation to do garage painting and shit storing.

i am running biostar on one of my rigs at the moment..never a problem....i have 3 in my life time...i have allways thought they were a huge bargin, , low prices, and just stable...i would buy biostar before asrock...i use to buy gigabyte boards but lately some issues with them......but never buy biostar over asus..that is just nuts

Don't know how good it will be, but I have wanted a good uATX board, and e-mailed them about the listed but unavailable X370GT3 board. They say it will be available at NewEgg on Friday. First X370 uATX AM4board on the market.
