Need new phone...Replace HTC M8

Thanks for reminding me too Sknight. Like Chang3D I too had forgotten about that phone. The Axon 7 packaged two components I was looking for at the time: a relatively large sized Quad-HD AMOLED screen with nice sounding dual speakers. However, I passed on it because it has non-illuminated, navigational buttons that you can't see in the dark (3:10) .

You get used to not having to see the buttons very quickly. Honestly, I can use the phone flawlessly in complete darkness. I'm not sure what peeps have heard about the camera, but I find it pretty darned awesome! My wife and I recently took a tour of the Cloisters Medieval museum in NYC, she was taking pictures of Medieval manuscripts, and illuminations with her iPhone 5s. I suggested she try my brandy new Axon 7 with it's 20MP camera. Long story short, she went nuts with it taking a bunch and we compared them side by side. Between it being better than her iPhone at low light, the image quality was pretty dramatically stellar. I don't mind the camera at all. YMMV.

Most of the reviews for the camera says it's great for day and bad for low light, with a score that is up there with all the other flagships with Samsung being number 1. So saying that camera is terrible might be the ridiculous bias.

This thread does a good job describing the Axon 7's camera in terms of strengths and weaknesses. The users over there rated it 3.5/5.0. Its camera is not as good as the heavyweights like the S7 or the PIxel mostly due to low light performance. Elsewhere, I have seen camera comparisons of the Axon 7 vs the OnePlus 3 and the Axon 7 loses in that matchup as well. Still, given the price and other features of the Axon 7 it is a solid choice.

Sknight,
I spoke to ZTE Technical Support, they told me that their B19 update to Android 7.1.1 fixed the Do Not Disturb issue.
[ Do Not Disturb is missing from Android Quick Settings and you cannot turn it on for a set length of time. ]

I am not finding any mention of the fix on the ZTE Community forum.

Can you please look on your Axon 7 and tell me if they fixed the Do Not Disturb issue?

Thanks

Could you grab a screenshot from your phone? On my Nexus 5x (pure android - 7.1.1) i've got a little edit button on the top next to the settings gear icon on the top where I can edit the "quick settings" dropdown.

Here is a full sized screenshot of my Moto X (2015) Android 6.1 Quick Settings window.
It contains no edit button or quick settings edit function.

The reason why you have one and I don't could be because you are running on Android 7 and I am on Android 6. Until Motorola gets around to update this phone to Android 7 I have to rely on the Android 6 System UI tuner.

Here are the Motorola instructions for accessing a quick settings edit window in Android 6:

Quick Settings - Moto X Pure Edition

Your device has a quick settings option that allows you to quickly view and adjust some of your most commonly used settings.

To access the quick settings menu simply use two fingers and flick down on the notification bar or flick down once while in the notification menu.

ADVANCED
On Android 6.0, you are able to edit what options appear in the quick settings menu. To do so, you must first turn on your System UI tuner.
To do this, first access your quick settings using the above steps. Then, touch and HOLD the gear icon in the upper right for about seven seconds and then lift your finger. You will see a message pop up at the bottom advising that System UI tuner has been enabled. (The gear will also spin, may need to try a few times)
This will take you to your settings where you will now see System UI tuner in the available options under about phone.
If you enter Quick Settings in this menu, you can modify which settings appear by dragging icons to the trash can at the bottom or by selecting Add Tile and choosing from available settings to be added.

I replaced my One M8 with an Axon 7 and it's been pretty awesome since I got LineageOS loaded onto it.
Warranty is really good too

Am glad you like it. What about Do Not Disturb? For whatever reason, ZTE removed access to it in quick settings and also altered it so that you can't turn it on for any designated length of time. Has it been fixed? See post 44 above.
Thanks.

Another nice thing about the Axon 7 is 2 year warranty, twice as long as most other devices.

I'm not sure about stock, but it works like it's supposed to in Lineage
