Microsoft still hasn’t explained why these security patches were delayed last month, but Patch Tuesday is back on schedule and you may hit Windows Update to clear up the lengthy list of vulnerabilities. I am seeing a number of patches related to Edge and GDI, so I assume those exploits that Google Zero let loose earlier are now fixed, along with the memory corruption bug related to SMB file-sharing.

Patch Tuesday is back -- albeit after an inadvertent and undisclosed glitch led to a month-long delay in releasing security patches. Microsoft said Tuesday that it patched dozens of vulnerabilities across 18 bulletins. Among the patches include one "critical"-rated flaw, which had publicly disclosed exploit code since early February. The vulnerability relates to a Windows SMB bug, of which its proof-of-concept code was released just days prior to this month's scheduled Patch Tuesday. The memory corruption bug could allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to crash an affected machine, according to an advisory posted by Carnegie Mellon University's public vulnerability database posted in February.

Thank you for providing this information

And now we wait...to hear what sort of advertising/bloatware/tracking/etc Microsoft tried to slip into the updates.

It's time to update, FOREVER.

im sure i will be in the middle of something important here in the next couple days when windows 10 decides its time to restart my computer for me and then spends 20 minutes or so doing updates

THANKS !!!!

You get a big RESTART NOW button that pops up. You can do that or delay it. You can also stop the Windows update service and disable it if you have something that requires your machine to not reboot at all for a couple of days.

Oh wait, nevermind, you did not want a solution, my bad. :)

This one did seem to take longer than usual at the preparing screen. Could be a bigger update, perhaps. Oh well, Microsoft is damned if they do and damned if they do not.

Mine popped up and said it had updates it needed to restart for, and if I didn't do anything (i.e. was not using the machine and it was idle) it would restart at X time. No big deal, I could choose to delay it or restart immediately.
