Ryzen Shipping Thread

Still no word on my Crosshair from Amazon. I also read the email from Corsair that the adapter to make my H105 work on the 1700X is backordered. I'm going to have a processor, case, and memory but they will just collect dust. The only blessing in disguise is that by the time I build my system perhaps mobo updates will lead to a more positive experience overall.

Ordered an MSI Titanium from gigaparts becuase they said they had it in stock. Two hours later they email me and said it was a mistake on their inventory that they didn't have one. So, I'm back to waiting on the egg or amazon to ship me a board. Meanwhile, I'm waiting on Cryorig to supply the AM4 brackets to make my A40 Ultimate work. They aren't going to have them available until the end of March. So, even if I do get a motherboard before then I'm still screwed until Cryorig ships me a bracket. Until then I'll keep staring at my empty case and Ryzen 1700X wishing I could play something. I had also preordered a motherboard from Amazon, and like most everyone else, they dropped the ball for me as well.

you know i thought it would be the CPU's in short supply not the MOBD's lol

In the mean time if you don't want to wait a month or so for your MOBD you can always grab a cheap B350 Board and get it as a place holder while your X370 arrives if you can affored the extra cost, there are still some B350's out there i just saw one on NCIX

I have a working 2500K. I've used it for 5 years. What's another month or two? :p I wonder if my wife would kill me if I bought a 1080 or 1080 Ti... hmmm

In the past 7 days ive bought a 7700k, z270 gigabyte gaming 5, 24gigs of ddr4, a 1700X, X370 msi gaming pro carbon, an AX 750 psu, air cooler, some other crap. My wife hasn't really talked to me after last nights microcenter visit. I'm going to assume im in the dog house lol. From one pc builder to another... GO FOR ITTTTTTT. haha

Amazon split my order so the CPU shipped which I got yesterday
Not sure what amazon was doing w/ the motherboards. I was a able to snag a Asus Prime x370 pro from newegg the other day
Should be here Friday can't wait to build it out

My newegg.ca ASUS B350 will come Monday. I'm going to refuse delivery on that and buy the same mobo from the local brick n mortar store instead because I can get it tomorrow.

I didn't preorder just to get it 2 weeks after release.

Not looking promising for my Asus Crosshair VI board. Amazon is saying delivery could be as late as April 24th. That would be a insane delay. I think I will be keeping a eye out for stock elsewhere.

Asus pulled back all their Crosshair VI boards from the channel. More than half are being returned by customers. They can't boot combination of bios issues and some duds in manufacture. They are getting a huge black eye over this.

2 months is crazy. However now after building my rig, I can understand that the mobo makers weren't ready.

I got the MSI X370 Titanium. It sure looks nice, but the RAM speeds are not as advertised. Got 3200 speed RAM and only could get it to 2400 on standard settings. Finally got to 2667 after tweaking, but I really want the full speed.

However, the RAM speed issues were mentioned in all the reviews, so I was prepared for that. What I wasn't prepared for was the abysmal boot speed. It literally can take upwards of 30 to 45 seconds to get into Windows (and this is on a 960 Evo M.2 drive, no less). This is unacceptable performance for a $300 motherboard. I've used $100 mobos that could boot in 10 seconds from a low-end SSD. Sure, MSI could possibly release a BIOS fix, but it's clear they weren't ready for launch.

Well I have my whole system built... Now I am just waiting on CoolerMaster to make the brackets available for the MasterLiquid Pro 240...

Damn. I thought my Gigabyte sitting on a pre-post check for ~5 seconds was obnoxious.
Anyone waiting on a board might consider getting a midrange now and waiting for the second generation of high boards before sinking too much into them.

Funny you should mention that. I was just thinking about how the 80 boards on the way might show up with a bunch of goodies that make me regret so much into the Crosshair. What's the best value board in the early release segment?

I bought the MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon and uh no issues at all to report from what i can see to be honest. When i launch hardware monitor looking at the motherboard sensors i can see real temps and all that from what i can tell.

So +1 for the MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon

I should hopefully have everything by march 16th, I'm sry to hear about all the ppl having a bunch of BS happen when ordering or per ordering MOBD from certain vendors, I my self Almost pre orderd a ASUS ROG Hero VI for my Ryzen build but i had to hold off and missed the pre order witch I ended up Pre ordering a Gigabyte Gaming 5 and it is currently on its way, If I was in a pinch I would try to get my hands on a B350 board to get your self off the ground and then you won't feel completely burned by the wait and when you ASUS ROG MOBD shows up it should be in much better shape then it's current state of affairs.

This is very unfortunate and unlikely for ASUS as I have purchased many of their products especially MOBD's and never had any issues, I personally think after all the issues are ironed out they will have one of the best Ryzen MOBD's out there as i really do trust ASUS and they are working hard to get the problems solved other wise they would still be shipping defective boards and letting the customer sort it out. anyway be strong fellow Ryzen adopters the first gen issues are always the hardest to over come and like i said if you must have it now (I know I would) they get a cheap-o B350 board before there all out of stock

Newegg has the Crosshair VI Hero in stock if you want to go with them. I cancelled my Amazon order.

Wooooo bought it afterwork, just in time for the weekend.

The stability is not that good. I'm running at 3.7Ghz 1.22V 2933Mhz RAM right now, and I have some problems with DX9 games.

NFS MW randomly pauses every once a while, and Killing Floor 1 crashes every few minutes. I ran a memory test and the memory seems to be stable at 2933. I'm going to run it at 3.6Ghz with the same voltage to see if it helps.

Update: I ran Intel burn test on very high 20 times and it didn't crash. Maybe the instability is caused by Win10 scheduler randomly re-assigning threads?

Update 2: Dropped memory to 2666 and the crashes went away. ASUS please fix your memory support.

Finally got shipment notification on my motherboard, supposed to arrive tomorrow but I have a feeling it will get delayed due to the weather. It's coming from DE, so hopefully it makes it far enough south before the snow hits that it won't be affected.

My Crosshair VI will be here on Tuesday, not sure when I will put it together tho. I will make sure it has the latest bios tho since the older bios can brick the board. I also expect my memory to be a pain as it's double row since it's 16gb a stick. So I expect trying to get it to 3200 speeds to probably not happen.

everything for me is arriving today or tomorrow... well except my Gigabyte Gaming 5 it is supposed to deliver on the 14th butttt the tracking is suspiciously blank only showing the package was pickup at origin location on the 9th..... so we will see if i join the ranks of ppl experinceing the Ryzen blues of having everything but the MOBD

My CH6 is fine.. But I did have the benefit of reading thru the OCN thread and flashing 0902 before trying anything.

Only difficulty was the built in USB drivers with win10 don't work at all with my
Peripherals or my Wi-Fi adapter

So at this point it has been 20 days since I placed my order with amazon. I cant cancel my order because I bought the x370 prime and processor as a bundle and my 1700x arrived last Tuesday. They told me that I can send the 1700x back to them, at which point I would be
able to cancel my order. There is also no estimated ship date for my motherboard and I cant substitute anything for the motherboard.

Amazon sucks! I dont know if i will ever buy from them again.

I feel ya, I say just return it and just get a 1700 from the egg since we know now how little difference there really is between em.

Newegg finally got my mobo and shipped it so I should have my PC it up and running by Wed at the latest. I've had my ram and cpu sitting next to me for over a week and if I'd have gone with them from the start I'm sure my PC would've been built launch week.

just had my 1700 and my coolermaster masterliquid 120 AIO cooler arrived today, unfortunately the AIO cooler is ice cold and possibly frozen hopefully the rad or block dose not burst...

Have you tried de-icing by overclocking it?

had more stuff come in today and according to the tracking info everything should be here on the 14th and that's today so i should have everything

CH6 sold out, though another batch us due end of week. Other Asus and MSI boards still in stock. :)

Finallly got the motherboard this afternoon and posting from the new system now. Memory only running at 2133 but I haven't tried tweaking it at all, otherwise booted right up and doesn't have the long post/boot times others have noticed. So far, so good!

I was a bit disappointed with the boot speed on the MSI X370, but resume from sleep is super fast so I can live with not turning it off and hopefully MSI can fix it eventually.

Pro tip from anyone coming from a FX chip to Ryzen. Make sure to uninstall AMD overdrive first as it will hard lock windows with Ryzen when it loads.

Makes sense, there's no way amd would be able to have a perfect launch, even Intel can't manage that most of the time. I had to wait almost 2 weeks after preordering to get my board, but that said it worked perfectly out of the box even if the memory isn't running at its peak speed yet.

The timing makes me think amd was very wary of an Intel response so they figured some minor launch issues would be better to deal with than giving Intel enough of a heads up for a full response. The April 11 date is probably what the actual launch was going to be before it was brought forward, so let's see what Intel has in response and the state of things amd at that point. If things are looking good on the r5 launch with board availability and ram speeds are starting to fall into place, then they probably made the right choice with the early launch even with the issues it caused.

It has finally arrived, and new Beta BIOS updates have come out for my gaming 5, going to start setting up once I can get some one to help me
