1080ti Pre-order, Retail, and AIB availability watch

The shippers usually pull this crap when something goes wrong. They act like there is nothing they can do, and any amount of delays are inevitable. They don't try to make up for lost time. In this case, it is just an annoyance, just means I can't play with my new toy for a bit, but what if the package had been important? I mean most legal documents go via FedEx or UPS next day. If this was the kind of thing that I needed right away, then what? "Oh I'm sorry, we won't bring it to you because fuck you, and you can't come and get it because fuck you."

Yeah not only do they not try to make up time, they take advantage of the event.

Ive had one of these cards stuck in my newegg cart but the site was buckling under load... the Nvidia site says in stock now but when I add one it says sold out. Sigh. If anyone buys more than one and wants to sell one at retail LMK via PM.

I think doz is looking to sell his. I forgot which page it was. But it's there.

Thanks to the Nowinstock.net web site I was able to buy a PNY FE 1080Ti card just now @ BB. Order comfirmed and I will receive it Wednesday. What a great site that is and great for me that I got up early on this time change day. C'mon Wednesday!

I can't believe how many dumbasses are paying $900-$1000 for this card on Ebay.

I sold one of mine for $900 on eBay. I got two, one for me and one for my brother, but he got a huge speeding ticket and can't afford it now. Honestly, even at $900, it's not worth the trouble. I paid $756 with tax from Nvidia, plus shipping. I'm not making jack shit on it. Maybe $125, that's not even worth my drive to the UPS store and the time to list it. Still better than paying return shipping to Nvidia. For some people though, it's worth an extra $125 to be guaranteed a card and not have to sit and hit f5 for days hoping to get one.

Plus eBays 10% and the 3% from PayPal. The profit margin is too small to mess with. Combine that with the potential for a bad buyer. Nope, not worth it.

Not to mention that you could come across a deadbeat buyer that claims you sent him a box of rocks and gets issued a refund.

I've had pretty good luck with eBay, and only one time did the buyer pull something fishy. I sold a Sony HMZ and the buyer claimed it was broken, and that he had to fix it for $150 dollars or something like that. Granted, I didn't test it before I shipped it, but it had been working when I put it in the closet about a year prior. So I just paid him the $150. I didn't want to taint my 100% positive feedback on eBay, and I had no way to prove the headset didn't get damaged during shipping or who knows what. I'm pretty sure the dude scammed me, but it wasn't worth fighting (and I'm sure he knew this). Now I mostly just sell stuff to friends or co-workers, as at least I know there will be no funny business.

Best words to greet the Monday with. "Your order has shipped". Should have the card tomorrow or on Wednesday - depending from which EU warehouse they shipped it from.

I have never had a PNY card before I hope their quality is reliable. Nice to be off the list of wanting to buy.

When it comes to reference cards it makes no difference. They are produced by the same company and shipped to everyone for rebranding. Your PNY card will be the same as my NVIDIA labeled reference cards.

I should have my cards within the next couple of hours.

I could've ordered a FE while they were in stock from PCCG in Australia but I didn't because I saw this article from 3rd of this month https://rog.asus.com/articles/gamin...nces-rog-strix-and-turbo-geforce-gtx-1080-ti/

"ROG Strix and Turbo GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will be available worldwide from mid-March, 2017. Stay tuned to find out more, they'll be worth the wait."

Are AIB really expected late April? Have I been bamboozled by asus?

I called CS @ BB this morning and cancelled out my order. I ordered a card from Nvidia instead. Same cost and I get the free game with this order.

plus 2 more years warranty coverage
I almost got the PNY one from Newegg but notice the 1 year instead of the 3 coverage
two pretty interesting looking games, will probably get the Ghost Recon for variety as I'm playing Dark Souls 2 now

There are time tables from NVIDIA, time tables from ASUS and time tables for everyone else. ASUS has an uncanny ability to be first and just about anything they do. They are frequently weeks ahead of GIGABYTE, MSI etc. Part of it is having a larger QA department, part of it comes down to engineering expertise, tools, etc. I wouldn't at all be surprised if ASUS didn't have non-reference cards available earlier than anyone else.

Except when it comes to their monitors :ROFLMAO:.

I haven't gotten shipping confirmations from BB or Amazon... hoping to see something today

Get paid tomorrow, then I get to join the hunt for one of these things. I have used PNY in the past but I want to avoid picking one up purely for the resale point brought up earlier in the thread.

I'm waiting for the Asus or MSI aftermarket cards. I'm totally fine if it's Asus first. My only problem is it has to be gotten from Microcenter.

That Strix looks pretty nice. I'm tempted to wait for the Zotac Amp Extreme, though, since I've been super impressed with my 980ti version.

From maxwell titans to 1080 Ti's is your biggest upgrade?

Biggest for me was from a GeForce 2 GTS 32MB to a 9700 Pro 128MB.
