1080ti Pre-order, Retail, and AIB availability watch

According to Videocardz, Zotac card is still being developed - I'm not in that business, so Indont know how long it can take to develop a custom board and cooling and make it approved, but I doubt it will be just few days.

It varies.

I spend the money I earn how I like. I've always taken care of the bills first and what not but guys who let the wife push them around when they are the primary bread winner, or at least pay for their own shit drive me nuts. I don't get it.

I wanted triple monitors, wife said no, I wanted new large screen 4k tv, wife said no, I wanted Bora Bora for next vacation, wife said no, my wife cancelled our cable and land line to save money, she told me, as in didn't ASK me. Today I finalized my factory order on 2017 Corvette Stingray. I told her first. Like someone said, priorities.

EVGA restocked their supply on their EU site... so snugged FE card with shipping for 830 euro. Comparing the other shops, that price is a "bargain" :)

Agreed. I handle the budget, I set the goals, I make the decisions. My wife trusts me because my goal is to make her life comfortable. But money shouldn't have anything to do with being the leader of your house. You're the man, you're responsible for your home and family, therefore you're in charge, employed or unemployed. 50/50 are for wives that don't fully trust their husbands, or have selfish motives. Because wives will always step over the 50/50 line when it's convenient. "Don't buy that, we're saving for x, y, z!", which mainly benefits her.

Be self disciplined, not wife disciplined.

I just had a list of things I needed to do first. I put my priorities in order. Took care of everyone needs first. To be honest it took about 6 months of remodeling before I felt comfortable making this purchase. Oh and I bought wifey a purse too just in case

Buying the purse is a great move. We just have to take of them more and the wallet will open up.
Priorities is everything. The reason why I haven't bought this card yet.

Mine is out for delivery today :D

50% more fps in any game over 980ti if you believe the hype.

Know that cpu bound title you play everyday, coded like ass so for some reason it only uses 40% of your gpu at peak? 50% more fps!

I just got a alert from Now in Stock and it was sold out as soon as I clicked on the email.

So I am really leaning torwards waiting for the EVGA ICX versions. I know that the gains will be minimal probably 3-5% in overclocking but I really like the look and the custom RGB light, etc. I think the added phase design 10+2 with dual 8 pin is more of a bullshit marketing thing, but then again, isn't the fancy lights and fans also the same o_O

I'm a sucker for new tech toys man....Then, my 3770k will need upgrading once Skylake-E rolls out later this year.....and new mobo, ram...etc......FUUUUUUUUUKKKK:woot:

I'm going to cross my fingers that B&H will ship mine on Monday and I will have Wednesday. That's what the estimated delivery says so we shall see.

Anybody out there that can write a program to check 1080Ti availability from every vendor in the world like 100 times a second and automatically purchase one when available? Just sayin', that would be a killer app. I'd pay a dollar for that...overnight millionaire for someone. ;)

There's also the added bonus of having (usually) a much quieter card when you go with AIB.

I had the reference design original titans and the blower fan never bothered me.... I'm just wondering how much the AIB partners are going to bump up the MSRP for the added features. I would assume 25-150$ depending on cards....It's lame though when you look at the 3 different cards from EVGA. They like to entice you but i'm sure there going to price gouge and charge 25$ more just for adding RGB led's that are probably a few cents to solder onto the card....

Does anyone know if water-cooling a Nvidia branded FE will void the warranty?

That is not "hype" at all if you actually look at reviews. But yes these people deluding themselves that their old i5 is never a limitation will get no where near that difference in some games unless at 4k.

I wouldn't say it isn't a limitation, but people act as though a superior GPU can't be faster than one from last generation because its paired with an old CPU. People act as though the CPU will give you a boost in frame rates in cases where it simply doesn't or does very little. Time again this has been proven to be false unless you are at resolutions that are entirely CPU limited. Again, we are basically at a point where 1080P is quickly becoming a CPU limited resolution. The deltas we see between 1920x1080, 2560x1440, and 3840x2160 in various reviews show this to be the case.

microcenter st davids had 5 but now all gone selling for 749 plus tax Mango probably bought them all...:)

Yeah, tests show that there is a difference between CPUs in FHD, but in 1440p and higher any i7 from Devil Canyon is around same fps. That's why I'm still keeping my 4790k and only change GPUs.

My wallet likes it - I need just GPU update every two years or so.

Well :p to you then.

:D

I'm still waiting on FedEx because they suck. Card got delayed on account of the storms in Memphis on Friday morning, but got to town in the afternoon. However they won't deliver it today since it was a "weekday overnight" despite the fact they missed their weekday delivery. I tried to pick it up at the facility but they said it was already on a truck so they couldn't get it off. Be Monday at the earliest, assuming they don't find another way to cause an issue.

Storms in Memphis? So it rained?

We had a snow storm last night here, still got my card lol.

Yeah I had guaranteed AM delivery and it was in town before the sun came up Friday. Still those pesky Memphis storms kept it from reaching me until Friday night. /s

I'm glad it got here, but I didn't get to install it b/c of the delay. BS that a storm in another state keeps them from refunding shipping when it had nothing to do with a delay.

No it was some pretty heavy shit, apparently. Like damaged houses and such. Also the big thing with planes is thunder. They can take off in rain no problem but when a thunderstorm is going, they all get grounded. Not even FedEx's call in a case like that, ATC will shut down flights per FAA rules.

What annoys me is their BS of "Oh well this shipment didn't pay for Saturday delivery so you don't get it then." No, it didn't it paid for Friday delivery. You couldn't make that, which is fine no fault of your own, but then get it to me the next day you can. You are open Saturday, get it on a truck. Then more annoying that they won't let me pick it up. I mean come on guys, I'm trying to accommodate you and you won't help.

The shippers usually pull this crap when something goes wrong. They act like there is nothing they can do, and any amount of delays are inevitable. They don't try to make up for lost time. In this case, it is just an annoyance, just means I can't play with my new toy for a bit, but what if the package had been important? I mean most legal documents go via FedEx or UPS next day. If this was the kind of thing that I needed right away, then what? "Oh I'm sorry, we won't bring it to you because fuck you, and you can't come and get it because fuck you."

I'll probably look in to having nVidia hassle them for a refund (shipper has to get the refund since they paid) since if this kind of thing costs them some money, maybe they'll be more willing to make it right.
