You ever wonder what is behind all that seed money you see flying around that is always getting talked about? This movie looks to answer some of those questions. Admit it, you were just sitting there in your comfy computer chair, and this was the biggest question on your mind. OK, maybe not, maybe it was, "did I close the pr0nhub tab?" or something like that. Anyway, this is actually a documentary film that will be kicked off at SXSW in Texas this weekend.

SEED brings to life the extraordinary world of hackathons as it explores three start-ups from vastly different geographic and economic backgrounds who travel to San Francisco for AngelHack's Silicon Valley Week, one of the most buzzed about hackathons for young developers. For three intense days teams refine their pitches, hoping to survive elimination and get the chance to present their idea to a panel of judges who could change their lives.[/QUOTE]

It can be scary being in front of your peers, especially when everyone flips you the bird and tells you that "You suck." Yes, it happened to me, and I documented it.

that trailer said:
"You are the top 1% of hackers in the world..."

I can't help but laugh at that, honestly, 'cause the top 1% of actual hackers in the world aren't people that would go to such events, aren't in it for money or fame, and more than likely could code these participants under the table twice over without even blinking, but I get the concept for such an event overall. Would have been more accurate to say "You are the top 1% of new software developers that could change the world..." or something similar.

Appears to be nothing but Silicon Valley fellating itself. If I thought any of these ideas were going to "make the world a better place", I might give a shit.

1% of the best hackers in the world are spread out between the basement of a Chinese opium den and the bear wrestling caves under the Kremlin. Definitely not in California. Maybe in Texas. :p

Is that picture taken at the Dallas Hyatt Regency? It looks similar to the place the CPLs were held.

Yeah that's from a CPL :) This might not be from the same event though.
