Ryzen Shipping Thread

I hope you have better luck up there in Canuckia. Just remember to not make eye contact with the locals! lol

AMAZON UPDATE: My order still has not shipped yet. [/troll] :p But yea still says "No tracking details. We're preparing your order. Carrier information will be updated soon." like it has all day.:(
Clearly 'soon' has a different definition at Amazon than it does for us... haha

Alright, it's 1AM now, so I'm going to attempt that sleep thing so I can wake up to Ryzen reviews!!! (I'm too tired to make a "rise up tomorrow" pun, so consider yourselves spared.)

I have that same message on my CPU at Amazon but my motherboard still says preorder status for the Asus ROG hero.

Last check in for me and yeah same thing on my Amazon. No shipping date, no change, and my card hasn't been charged. Let's hope we wake up to better news on the shipping front and good luck to everyone with their boards.

My motherboard has now gone from preorder to has not shipped. I don't like the way Amazon does things because they will never turn away an order but at the same time they don't tell you anything about how many they have or when they expect more. It's nail-biting. I'm going to take a little nap here on the east coast now and wake up in a few hours and call some stores. Keep you guys posted on that jazz.

Same thing here

Local Microcenter is showing 10+ in stock of all three processors, but has a terrible selection of motherboards.

I want my two m.2 slots so the two Asus X370 boards they have listed are both out. Ugh.

Maybe they have others and I'm just not finding them, I dunno. Maybe they'll just go out of stock before I get out of work at 12:30 and I'll be spared this whole mess.

Placed an Instore pickup for the Asus Crosshair at the Austin Fry's last night (2nd try), just got a "it's ready to pickup" email.

I preordered the second the items went up on Newegg and Newegg had them up before 1pm est. I think I placed my order at around 12:30pm. I was definitely in the first wave. Newegg is a POS to me right now. No budge on Amazon for me either. I might go to Canada tomorrow if Canada computers has anything left since they are only 30 minutes away. I'm not driving no 400 miles round trip to microcenter in Ohio from buffalo :(

I am right here now at the Microcenter in Northeast Ohio. I have my purchase in hand. Any way I can help?

Edit: I live in the City of Tonawanda.

Still no sign of life at Amazon which is pretty aggravating. Microcenter in my location has mostly Asus and one MSI board. I wanted to go with Gigabyte... we'll see.

After all the hype and the benchmarks I'm buying a kaby lake bundle today at microcenter. Sorry and but you are more money for less performance in the gaming zone :( maybe if they released the 5 series I wouldn't buy kaby lake but even then I know it won't be beating the 7700k. I'm kinda happy Newegg screwed me now. I bet there is a bunch of people.who won't be picking this up now to be honest. Kinda depressed over this now :(

Sadly Tdale I was in the same boat. If newegg had shipped my CPU already for my preorder I would have been happy with my ryzen. But as it is I just cancelled and ordered a new 7700 with a MSI gaming mobo and next day delivery and still came out less than the 1800+ and mobo I was ordering.

Yes I have half the cores... But as has been pointed out to me.... I have access to 36 core machines at work for VM play. Why burn money to do that at home? ;)

my amazon order still hasnt charged and hasnt shipped and im waiting on just the cpu and mobo, i did the Asus x370 prime and 1700x, half tempted to just get the 1700 instead at this point.

Local Microcenter just has 3 boards, all B350.. One is mATX and the other two have peasant PCI slots which I swore would never waste space in my rig again :pompous:

No shipment from Amazon yet on my 1700 and Asus prime b350m-a. Still says pending.

I'm with the rest: Amazon has not updated a single thing on the Tracking page, and the Order Info page under the Transaction drop-down only shows the price, no Charge info or Status (totally blank).

I'm not going to bother trying to cancel anything unless I kind find things literally in stock and CHEAPER than what the 1700X and Titanium are on Amazon... and I don't anticipate that happening :p I'll just sit tight and go read some reviews :)

Just got off chat and phone with Amazon. I assume that by trying to force me into buying from a third party seller and trying to force me into cancelling from them their stock is nonexistent at this point.

Gonna call up frys and some local electronic stores and see what's up around me before I place the order from the egg. Good luck to those waiting. I hope none of us pre order computer equipment from Amazon for a long long time. Worst customer experience in a long while and a first for Amazon.

Yeah third party electronics retailers on amazon == vendor denying your warranty due to not buying from an authorized reseller. A lot of them are grey market resellers from overseas.

No telling which part of the channel fell through so I can't blame Amazon necessarily. Seems like everyone got shorted on boards.

I'm actually fine with that aspect and more than understand that. The thing that irks some of us is the fact they couldn't give us a straight answer for the last couple of days and some of us had to jump through hoops until someone told us they didn't have stock.

The hero being oos is completely not on them especially after Gibbo was talking about ram stuff on his which made tons of folks switch to it but the cpus is a shocker.

You're Amazon.com and you're telling to buy my cpu from a just launched third party seller that has zero feedback with delivery of 8-13 and trying to cancel my order for me when I told you not to? What?

They just really dropped the ball for me on this one.

Hey, as long as you enjoy your purchase, there is no reason to ever feel down. You probably found that Microcenter had a ton of boards to choose from and I would imagine you got a 7700k, right? Enjoy it, that is all that matters, I know I am enjoying my new Ryzen setup. :D

Amazon is having major issues with stock across the board. I'm just another Joe Schmoe Prime member , but have been since it's early days , and between my own stuff and the things bought for clients I'm now betweeen 500k and 1 million with them. Peanuts compared to some , but they take care of me as a consumer customer. I usually always get straight to the tier 2 and then manager support immediately , and let's just say they have really taken care of me over the years on the few problems I've had.

They called me and bumped me to next day , extra free Prime time , etc etc and apologized quite a bit. They've helped me before getting me Amazon price parts from third party to fulfill orders they were behind on etc.

This time that's not even an option for them this time , and they couldn't even roughly estimate , a first , when they'd next day me a Ryzen. Ordered a 1700 , they said they'd ship me whatever they got first for same price too.

Something major happened in their shipment/suppliers.

Was getting a Rzyen to replace my secondary machine (i5 4690 , my gaming rig is a 7700k) , just to check it out and run more VM's at a time , etc. Now I'm trying to decide if want to wait or just send all the other parts I ordered (case , gpu , so on) back and do some other build.

My Amazon order, put up the minute the 1800X and CHVI came up on the 22nd, was still sitting there saying "we'll update you later when it ships" 15 minutes ago so I cancelled it. Since it seems to be pretty shit anyways I'll wait a while and pick up a 1700 just to play around with.

I know you would have enjoyed it but, since they have no idea when it will shipped, that is what I call pretty crappy too. The CPU's themselves are really good and I have not even done anything special yet.

Yeah, my 8350 is struggling right now so I have to get something. I think I may have pushed it too hard a few years ago when I picked it up (It went 5250mhz under custom water and a lot of volts haha), because the machine is randomly locking up every 30-40 minutes now.

I swung by the Austin Fry's as mentioned earlier after work at around 5pm and all of the AM4 motherboards were sold out. Glad I ordered one last night.

Canceled my Amazon order.

Ordered an 1800X and an Asus X370-Prime Pro about 10 minutes after the preorders went live last week at Amazon. Neither shipped today so I just ordered a 1700X and MSI Tomahawk B350 from Newegg. Saved about $200, and from what reviews indicate, the 1700X and 1800X both hit their OC limit at 4-4.1GHz. Still, wanted my new chip and mobo tomorrow so I could build my new system this weekend.

Can't say I'm real happy about this. I ordered on the 22nd and figured if it allowed me to pre-order I'd be getting it. Later in the day on the 22nd it would no longer allow pre-orders on the 1800X. Said currently unavailable. To me that implied I had gotten mine in there before the cutoff and the allocation ran out.

Very disappointing and frustrating. I took the day off tomorrow to be home and now it looks that was pointless.

Maybe I should've just cancelled the gdam thing and spent the extra on a 6850K then.

So much for releasing on the 2nd like th order said for the last what 8 days. Amazon let me down.

Amazon's pre-ordering was terrible, sucked I had to give up the financing, but glad to have gotten my board today. Good luck!

That's a total bummer to find out, but thank you for this heads up!

I'm not going to cancel my order quite yet. I'll give them till next Thursday before I make that decision.

[crackpot conspiracy] No doubt Intel is to blame for this. Everybody's thinkin it... I'm just sayin' it! [/crackpot conspiracy]

lol

Man, glad I went with Newegg then. I almost cancelled and re-ordered on Amazon due to the MSI board having a 3/7 date on Newegg (but 3/2 on Amazon) but it looks like Newegg is shipping early so all is well.

Just got a bit more info as got a manager who hooked up with me on also with the procurement team. Appears the default on preorders for the ryzen was to ship as a group, which I never pay attention to as usually all my orders default to ship as available.

They actually have some Ryzen CPU's ( definitely are understocked for all the orders though ) , but no x370 motherboards.

So if you ordered a motherboard with your CPU it's definitely holding it up till approx the 7th is eta they have.

They split my order and set next day for both , of course getting the CPU Sat without a MB isn't that helpful.

They've got some B chipset motherboards but I always prefer intel nics so that's a no go for me.

I just got back from Microcenter in Westmont, IL. Before I went I checked the website and they only had 3 boards as well: MSI B350, Asus Prime B350-Plus, and some pitiful looking Asus micro-atx, not sure now on model number. When I was there the sales people showed me other boards that were not on the website. Not sure what's going on, but the stores may have a better selection than the website says. The store had some Gigabyte B350 Gaming and Asus Prime X370. That Asus Prime X370 really looks nice but is a bit spendy. I went cheap and got an R7 1700 and Asus Prime B350-Plus. The Crosshair sold out fast according to the sales guy, and they only got around 10 to begin with which didn't help.

The Asus Prime B350-Plus has a few things that really annoy me, but it was cheap so I can overlook some things a bit. First thing is the size and that fact that it only has 6 mounting holes. One whole side of the board is unsupported. Oh, and the size makes the edge just hit the standoffs on the right side which could maybe cause shorting issues so you have to take out 3 of the standard ATX standoffs. Very annoying. If they were going to make the board smaller then make it so it misses those standoffs. The US site for this board has squat for bios updates, QVL, etc. You have to go to the global site. Just delete the /us/ section of the URL. There have been 3 bios updates so far which is good. Asus seems to do a good job with updates so I'm happy about that.

The R7 1700 cooler has a copper center, and it's pretty huge compared to the old FX heatsinks. It mounts with screws. How you might ask? Well, you need a screwdriver to take off the plastic mounting brackets, but you keep the stock backplate. The backplate has the built in standoffs for the heatsink screws. No more levers and clips like the old days. The heatsink has the normal 4 pin connector, plus an RGB cable. You have to pull out a rubber plug on the heatsink shroud to plug in the cable. It takes some effort and I was at first a bit nervous doing it. This is of course a big purchase so I didn't want to break anything. I don't really care about or want any extra lighting, but I plugged the cable in anyway.

I picked up some G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 3200 from a guy on Craigslist today after work. It won't boot with XMP enabled, even after the bios update, but maybe later after a few more bios updates are relased it will work. It was an insane deal on the ram so I can't complain: 16GB (2 x 8GB) for $60. It's over $130 on newegg.

I guess that's enough for now, I better get some sleep.
