Thanks to a Target screw-up, it has been revealed that the Shadow of Mordor successor will be called Middle-earth: Shadow of War. While a PC version has not been officially listed yet, you can be sure that it is in development alongside the pleb versions. Am I the only one who practically maxed out his character before getting anywhere in the main quest?

"Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses, and dominate Mordor from within," it reads. "Experience how the award-winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth." PS4 and Xbox One versions are both listed. The original Shadow of Mordor was also available on PC, though the absence of a PC version on Target's website doesn't preclude it from also being in development. A release date is stated as August 22. That might prove to be true, but early release dates on retailers' websites don't always pan out.

I played the game for a hour it looks amazing the original but I really need to play it again it was pretty fun.

The first one was pretty awesome. I should have played it more than I did.

First game was really fun. Well worth everyone's time.

The Nemesis System and some other aspects of it really have the potential to be something even more in depth and ambitious if this developer or someone else ever wanted to run with it.

First was a fun game for sure. It did get fairly repetitive eventually because you were basically just fighting the same guys over and over, but the Nemesis system was at least a little different than other similar titles.

Awesome, fucking loved the first game, one of the few games I actually completed. It was repetitive but the variety of enemies and combat techniques needed to kill certain enemies was nice.

only game I have never finished is Shadow of Mordor.

eventually got bored.

forgot the story trying to get my character to where he could defeat a 1000 member horde of orcs that insta respawned as soon as you got the crowd down to a manageable size.
I must of killed a million of those fuckers. I am not exaggerating.

seriously. it took so long I forgot why I was even playing the game.

I got to where the witch and her daughter something something..... didn't even care.
could be that I had just finished Witcher 3 and found this on sale and was underwhelmed..

Looking forward to it. Main story on SoM was crap but gameplay was great and Nemesis system was awesome invention. I spent hours just micromanaging it, getting regular orcs promoted on purpose and see what unique captains the game generates and how far they can rise. And sometimes they could become a real pain in the ass and so strong that you have a hard time getting rid off him. An actual nemesis that appears in the most inconvenient times to ruin your killing spree and you have only yourself to blame. :D

I had a ton of fun playing Shadow of Mordor the combat felt very similar to the Arkham series. Some of the fights could get out of hand though because those damn orcs respawned like a mother if you didn't end the fight quickly. Looking forward to the next one!

Original was fun, but glad I got on a steam sale. Game had some issues for sure, like half the time when an additional 2-3 warchiefs would randomly interrupt my existing warchief fight. Just drop the controller because game will hose you no matter what at that point. Happened often and every time was BS.
Also, when you try to implement over 20 custom gamepad functions it gets bit much.

This is music to my ears. The first one is damn near a perfect game, so I can hardly wait for the follow-up!

Ah this is the game, that gave a backstory for re-loading checkpoints.

I was among the few who didn't much like the first one.

The nemesis system tried to somehow mimic a multiplayer experience, but if I wanted that I'd play multiplayer games.

Apart from that thousands of henchmen coming at you constantly so it's repetitive beyond belief. The story is completely put on the backburner.

Not my cup of tea at all.

Mad Max had similar gameplay and was infinitely better than this, more enjoyable fighting, better animations, better graphics, and of course cars, so you not only get endless hack and slash.

Fantastic news! I loved the first one. Gameplay was awesome as well as the battle system. Maybe the story could've been better but I had a lot of fun playing it. Definitely a must buy for me.

Fun but was too repetitive. They need to greatly expand on the actually gameplay.

I think it did well because of its simplicity of mechanics. You could just battle orcs and burn off some steam and feel like a badass. The nemesis system was really interesting and fun. I feel if they change too much from their formula, it could flop. I hope they improve on what they had for sure.

Now i wanna go play it when I get home.

LOL at the "Tolkien" black guy, because fuck lore and shit. Video are games pandering harder then hollywood now days.

And they forgot the Asian guy, the Inuit, and the Polynesian chick, the Mongol, and the ...

Heck, they forgot Marvin the Martian!

Yeah, there was no reason to distort the lore there in favor of dubious "PC reasoning", none whatsoever, just like there was no need for a "generic white dude" in this film (which sux anyway, from what I've heard): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Wall_(film)

You would think that films like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" proved that a solid flick could enjoy success in the US without having to pander to hypocritical "PC needs", but 17 years after that film's release, it seems the status quo is still true ...
