I installed the above card in my media server/daily. I use Jriver to stream to my livingroom tv receiver via hdmi. The computer display is via dvi to hdmi adapter. It seems if the computer goes into hibernation it switches the default audio sources around which in turn causes jriver to not work properly because it is set to play audio through the receiver but when the crimson software goes to jacking around that all changes. Maybe it has something to do with rivatuner.

Just wondering if anyone else has similar extended desktop issues.

its seems like its seeing the device disappear then it jumps to the next available.
go into playback devices and disable everything but the one youre actually using. you will need to do it every time(it resets) you update the amd drivers or choose not to update the audio.

I'll try the disabling after I pull this junk GTX1050 I put in out and put the 460 back in.

I also should add the software keeps having an exception that the link between my cards isn't connected properly or something like that. Not home and have the 1050 installed so not sure the specific lingo but I only had one rx460 installed so I have no idea why it was crying that noise.

Ok well putting this card back in after testing out a GTX1050 SSC and I no longer have the above mentioned notice about the link between my cards (which I only had one card). I have new annoyances though. Occasionally when I power up the living room receiver my desktop wallpaper will show up on our living room tv for 1-2 seconds then it goes to a solid green screen. This is usually after the computer has been in hibernation and it has also happened after waking the display. The only thing I have found to fix it is rebooting. Although last night when it did it I had to reboot twice to get it to stop considering the first reboot yielded the same results as soon as the desktop wallpaper displayed 1-2 seconds then a solid green screen. This is just on the extended picture not my desktop monitor.Powering off my receiver and then back on yielded just a green screen so it wasn't that.

I can go into settings and everything is where it should be with the 4k res being set for my living room and 1080 for my desktop display.

The next annoyance is when the computer hibernates and comes back my desktop icons are all over the place. I move them and they get all screwed up all over again. They get all spread out and shifted over all between the first 3 rows on the left of the screen. They normally only take up the first whole row and then 3 spots at the top of the next. Now they get moved all checkerboard in the first 3 and mixed up also.

Along with this window sizes get skewed. Things that were filling up my desktop screen are now showing parts of the desktop. If I click the maximize button the windows then get very small so I have to drag the windows to the size I want them all over again for when they are minimized and then click maximize again for it to fit the full window.

A side issue that is new I believe with the display audio. Every show I stream to my living room now plays sound for a second at the beginning then goes silent for a second and plays normal the rest of the time that item is playing. I never had this issue with the on board display.

This RX460 will be replaced with a RX480 on Wednesday but I don't think it is a card issue. I think these problems are the Crimson/AMD/Radeon/ATI (what ever they are calling them these days) drivers. lol

Now as to the display settings through the software the only thing I have set is:
virtual super resolution (which makes the picture much better looking)
The resolutions of the displays are set to what they are. 4K and 1920x1080
GPU Scaling is off
Scaling is set to preserve aspect ratio
Hdmi scaling is on 0%

I don't know if my window size settings for scaling is what is causing the window sizes to keep shifting or what. I've never used a dedicated gpu for extended desktop just onboard so I'm not sure if I have proper settings or not.

Random question on your 4k monitor do you have it set to 4096x2160 or 3840x2160.. I had a similar issue that I fixed actually setting to my tv native res of 3840x2160 vs the 4k .

It's not a monitor. Its a 65" Samsung tv. so it is in fact 4096X2160. Wish it were as simple as that. Just pulled the RX460 STRIX and put in a RX480 STRIX. Jesus I barely got it in my Air 240. Nice of Corsair to put a slot in the frame channel on the side of the case to install cards through. Actually that may not even be for that but for the pci lockdown lever. Eh I used it to pass the pcb into the case anyway. LOL had that not been there I would have needed to pull my H100i GTX rad.

Anyway I'll see what this card does with this issue. No longer using a DVI---->HDMI adapter since it has dual hdmi ports. Although the DVI adapter was being used for my desktop 1080p monitor so I hardly doubt it was what was causing issues on the other display.

So naturally I had to install the Asus Aura software to switch the lights to match my arctic build. Switched them to static white. This is the grand result

WTF! The ROG logo is white, the logo on the side and the down lights mounted in the heatsink are freakin purple. Yet if Aura is set to cycle colors it changes all colors together. How did they screw this up....SMH
