GAMEGPU tested the retail edition this time. Not much if any seems to be changed from the console edition.

Looks like one game that one can play in 4K rather easily. Is it worth playing?

Plus it does not like hyper threading either.

Talk about regression- and the Wikipedia page is devoid of engine details, so it looks like it's just a general half-assing on their part.

(I realize that making HT work for you is non-trivial, but at least they could aim for not making it work against)

Well to go with the Halo Wars 2, ironically the packaging also re-inforces the soon launch of the 1080ti :)
Look down at the Ultra settings.

So there we go, 1080ti is definitely coming soon if this news is not based upon fake info.
And amusing they put that down as Ultra requirements unless this is 4k (and why no GTX1080 listed but seems silly).
Cheers

lol, so the FuryX now is in the same league as the 1080Ti. :wacky:

Yeah the Ultra settings made me laugh.
Lets just list the highest GPUs of each manufacturer and not bother actually deciding if they are needed :)
Especially when looking at the GameGPU results, but then I really dislike their benchmarking and tend to avoid them myself.

I wonder how SMT from AMD will fare compared to HT? Maybe reason why next XBox will just use 8 cores vice 4 core with SMT - custom Ryzen CPU without SMT? Jaguar again?

Dunno- we don't really know how AMD has implemented their version of HT, but it would make sense for them to emulate Intel's solution as close as possible because that's what operating systems and applications have been optimizing for.

The Xbox stuff is a completely different thing, too- totally stripped down cores where any form of HT would result in worse performance. Further, they wouldn't want to change the architecture until they can get a whole lot more performance out of fewer cores, as games are optimized for the current slow eight-core design.

MS and Sony will lock an entire core, SMT or not for the OS. But everything so far points to its not going to be Zen based.

I think the main issue with upgrading the console architecture beyond Jaguar will be the need to stay at eight real cores- and until they can do that economically with Zen using mature process shrinks with good yields, they'll likely stick with Jaguar or some massaged derivation.

The Fury X is still AMD's most powerful card, and I guess they wanted to put something from AMD in there.
Well it list an unavailable card: 1080Ti . Why not AMD's Vega top card?: RageFury X supreme 10th degree + with 1TB SSD add on cache. :D

Funny enough it list 8GB too, while the Fury X got 4 :p

Lucky tho Vega 10 got 8.

Well I have my doubts that photo is real. I have a copy of the physical Ultimate Edition arriving from the UK either this or next week, so we'll find out for sure ;).

Maybe I'm missing something, but how come the 5960X on the CPU chart doesn't match up with the FPS of the 1080 on the 1920x1080 chart?

Edit: Ah, I see for the resolution comparisons they overclocked the CPU but for the CPU comparisons they used stock speeds. Nevermind.

Reckon that screenshot is fake, since as I understand it, they don't list EOL products like a 2500K, that you can't even buy.

According to official news they do list 2500K as minimum spec, and also the AMD HD 7750 and GTX 660.

But it could still be fake, would had expected more sources by now tbh if it is real.
Cheers

i3 6100 matches the i7 2600k....Maybe it doesn't use more than 2 cores?

Ipc + clockspeed + RAM speed + updated instructions, its not THAT hard to imagine a 2016 dual core doing the same as a 2010 quad core.
