Extreme watercooling kits...Still worth it with Closed loop coolers performing very well?

On mine, which is a non-PWM version, the only difference I hear between the dial settings 1 through 5 is that the pitch is higher at the higher RPM's. The overall volume, IMHO, stays the same.
My PWM EK D5 pump/res combo is very quiet, I can't hear it over the (low) noise from the Noctua 14cm PWM fans both in idle and load.

I never understood what people were talking about with fan noise when it came to AIOs. People must have really aggressive fan profiles because my case fans are louder than my AIO, even at 100% load.

Custom loops are better honestly OP. I just got this one because of laziness pretty much, planning on doing a custom later on down the road but this is good enough for me, never breaks 62C at 100% at current settings. (see sig if curious)

Zarathustra,

I am unsure if you can get the pump I use in the USA, I actually doubt it, but just in case you can. It's an "Eheim" pump, a company that mainly does aquarium pumps and such. I bought it along with my cooling stuff from watercool.de and tho I have a few things I dont like about it, the technical specs and foremost the 0dB are just plain good.

I actually wanted to change the pump and the res that's perm. attached to it as it looks rather strange and sits on top of my radiator but it just works that damn good. I had to clean my KH-IV internally a month ago when I put the rig together and strangely after the cleaning my new dest. water got more and more blueish until I flushed it yesterday with a Y-connector and drain valve.

Since the pump is outside of the case on top of the extern. radiator, I can drain passivly, no pump running needed. Suction alone pulls it through :p...just dont be lazy and let air in HAHA then I had to use the pump..me lazy ass :p, but still, having it all external makes it an easy 1-man job.

Honestly, I am tempted to get their new cool res with Laiing D5-PWM pump hidden nicely in the bottom of the res, nicely attached to the MoRa3...yeah...but will it cool better 180€ later ?? NO !!! So I keep it till something breaks and then change.

Also I dont know if those D5's are so super low noise as my ceramic Eheim pump.

If you dont mind technical looks, this pump is powerfull, SILENT, comes with RES if you want and is state of the art technically ( ceramic, 12V, ). http://shop.watercool.de/epages/WatercooleK.sf/en_GB/?ViewObjectPath=/Shops/WatercooleK/Products/30720

In comparison, that HeatKiller Tube 200 res looks awesome mounted on the MoRa3....just that I would have to accept a louder D5....better-looks vs. no-noise -- no-noise wins !!!

But it looks so damn cool DAMN that D5 !! http://shop.watercool.de/epages/WatercooleK.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/WatercooleK/Products/30235
