Twitter Is Cracking down on Politically Incorrect Language

I'm on the fence about retarded. It's literally a scientific term defining "slow". It's never bothered me, despite have cerebral palsy and brain damage I constantly call myself and other people retarded. It's not a specific enough term that I think its a valid derogatory term against any one person or group.

That said I literally have 5 or 6 family that get seriously butthurt when they hear it so as it's affecting me personally in any way to not use I don't mind acquiescing.

I was watching this dailyshow interview with the Lead singer of "Against Me!" who recently came out as a Transvestite. She said "I used to get offended by the term Tranny, but then an older trans called me a Tranny and it wasn't an insult. It just is what it is and I think you have to learning get past that kind of thing."

There's some terms I draw the line on. I don't use the N word. It's a nasty specific word that I don't like. If you wanna say it's ok to use it then start calling your friends "Albino inbred genetic trash who were too fucking retarded to cope with life in a real society" see how that feels for a couple days because thats what most white americans are.

Then again I'm from Kentucky so you know thats a whole other thing.
It was used in the scale of IQ. Let me find the chart:

The fourth revision of the Stanford–Binet scales (S-B IV) was developed by Thorndike, Hagen, and Sattler and published by Riverside Publishing in 1986. It retained the deviation scoring of the third revision with each standard deviation from the median being defined as a 16 IQ point difference. The S-B IV adopted new classification terminology. After this test was published, psychologist Nathan Brody lamented that IQ tests had still not caught up with advances in research on human intelligence during the twentieth century.[68]

Stanford–Binet Intelligence Scale, Fourth Edition (S-B IV) 1986 classification[69][70]
IQ Range ("deviation IQ") IQ Classification

121–131 Superior
111–120 High average
89–110 Average
79–88 Low average

67 or below Mentally retarded

This is all in preparation for fabricating an excuse to ban trump when he tweets something that they don't like. They will then say "SEE? YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW THE RULES! B&!"

The groundwork is being laid...

I would piss myself laughing if they banned his account. Where would he even go to vent about it if it happened? lmao

Eh. It sucks, it's dumb and I don't agree with it or PC nonsense; but their house their rules.

Twitter will die when GOD EMPEROR is silenced in Twitter

And this is why I don't bother with this social media bullshit. I will call a spade a spade whether you like it or not. The truth must only be true. It doesn't have to be nice.

tumbler, snapchat, or whatever else the cool kids use.

While waiting to pick up my son from school this afternoon, some girls ran past me and one yelled to the other "I'll E-mail you!!"

I couldn't even believe what I heard. Maybe they've been banned on Twitter already?

Wow, some of you guys see this as an Anti-Trump thing and others as proof that Trump is out to ruin the world.

I guess it just proves, that people only see what they want to see.

Not all people all the time, but for a large part, that is very true.

You don't have anything a little more current do you? Three years ago this guy wasn't running for President. Maybe some context to go along with it, you know, so we know he's not talking about how to handle a hostile takeover in the business world or something else.

For those that say "They're a private company, they can do whatever they want, big deal."

Of course that's true, but:

1) They aren't transparent about their agenda.

2) Information is power

Most people agree with the second point, but often only consider that collecting information is power. We've witnessed the power of collecting information, via datamining, with the rapid rise of Google, and also how they can even transform the political landscape like Wikileaks, and everyone gets that.

But what a lot of people forget is that collecting information is just half of the story. Controlling the information that the average person has is also immensely powerful! Money is just one means to power, but not an end, and so even if entities like Twitter or Reddit aren't able to turn profits, by being able to manipulate what people see and can't see, they can help shape public opinion and that is the true value.

And the big deal is when you have a handful of people on the planet that control Google, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and the mainstream media, you have a huge concentration of power to rewrite history, shape public opinion, influence policy, and push your agenda while suppressing anything that threatens it... and frankly, that's scary and something to worry about. For example, just today Reddit kicked up its censorship of the right up another notch, beyond their "algorithm change" and banning of right-leaning political forums from showing up on /r/All, by today creating an /r/popular sorting tool. They make reasonable claims, like making this a default for new users so it filters out NSFW content and polarizing politics, but you find this is a complete and total lie as there's a bunch of labeled NSFW content still showing up on front page and right now its dominated by /r/politics, and extremely left-wing political forum dedicated to berating Trump. And in fact, when you look at the data of what ACTUALLY is shadow-banned, you see the big impact is really just censorship of /r/The_Donald, a sub made to talk about and promote the president.

Honestly , the more they push this type of thing , the more reassured I am Trump will win 2020 also.

Keep pushing the blue haired , angry feminists in college right to scream about the white privilege of a coal miner in West Virginia and he will suddenly realize how privileged he is ,make sure trans bathrooms are the number one issue on the party platform , and I'm sure the factory plant worker in Michigan will come back to the Democratic Party.

No. He's also not running for the presidency now. Context? If you need help understanding that then good luck in life. The rest, just stop.

And this stuff only makes me want to be even less PC. I want to give snowflakes vapors.

Tell me, since when are insults "politcally incorrect"? Insults are insults and should be punished. If I would insult Kyle here, I would be banned, rightfully and not for being "politically incorrect." Some people need a grip on what "politically correct" actually means.

PC has to do with very selective policing and double-standards and often ridiculous levels of "eggshell walking", where small remarks that usually wouldn't cause any stir are blown out of proportion by professional bully-victims that wait for the slightest slip of the tongue to viciously attack.

For example, Leslie Jones, among others, were being made fun of for the horrific butchering of the Ghostbusters remake (in which literally every character was somehow the comic relief character... all the time), and in defense she started playing the race card to try to render herself immune from criticism... even though the attacks on the movie were if anything controversial about gender, not race (makes no sense, as Ernie Hudson was always well loved). Milo tweeted in response, "If at first you don't succeed (because your work is terrible), play the victim." Leslie then accused him of being racist for that (no clue how that's justified), blocked him, and reported him for harassment for that. As a joke, since Milo is known for hitting on black guys, he made a cheeky reply, "Rejected by another black dude". This apparently was enough to have his Twitter account permanently suspended, in spite of having a massive follower base and the joke not being outrageous by any means.

Meanwhile, Leslie Jones herself has made tweets such as "Lord have Mercy, more white people shit!", "Milo is the Uncle Tom of gay people", "ok you white girls are starting to look alike like a mutherfucka.I swear i went to high school with them two girls!#ainteventryingtolookdiff", "get the fuck outta here a white boy is best dj wtf?", "mickey mouse gangster cousin wtf? white people smh", comparing white people to animals, making fun of jews, etc. without so much of blinking of an eye, even though Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey himself follows Leslie Jones and has tweeted her directly to private message him in the past.

Then you have Rosie O'Donnell tweeting that Donald Trump's 10 year old is autistic (he's not), other celebs making tweets that the 10 year old boy will be our first homeschooled shooter, a Hollywood director tweeting a threat that the violent attacks against Trump supporters at Berkley were just the beginning, etc, and again no response from Twitter.

So Twitter is certainly not policing insults.

Twitter is enforcing political correctness, which means that its perfectly fine for leftist celebrities to tweet that Melania Trump is a whore and posting old semi-nude pictures of her from when she was a professional model, but will get you a lifetime ban for the slightest remark that is not perfectly PC.

Cliffnotes level 1: Politically correct is where one specific set of political ideas is defined as inherently correct, and any dissent or failure to adhere to said ideas is defined as inherently incorrect.

Cliffnotes level 2: Politically correct is dogma, dissenters are heretics.

So everyone who's on twitter (I don't use it), should just start using full definitions on twitter.

OMG, you are so retarded!

Translation: OMG, you are so less advanced in mental, physical, or social development than is usual for one's age.

I am not against the idea of PC. I mean, everyone is doing it all the time anyway. It's certainly better than barking at each other.

Problem with banning insults is, there are more than enough people who prefer to insult others indirectly. You can't ban the sneaky bastards without banning speech altogether

But not a vegetable .....

A few weeks ago I watched a BBC documentary "between life and death" about people with severe brain trauma. And one guy was crying, teary eyed to the camera, all while repeating: "I don't want her to be a cabbage! I don't want her to be a cabbage!" I laughed my ass off.

My saying, that what Trump said three years ago has less relevance than if he had said it last week, is not diminished by your comment.

Oh no, Trump runs off at the mouth all the time and he makes it very easy to take what he says out of context. Want to take a challenge?

I bet I can go through your posts and pull statements that you have made out of context and essentially misrepresent your position on topics, hell I can even make it look like you are commenting on topics that you never discussed at all.

I need a new case fan, you up for it?

You better believe all the world leaders and CEO's are on his twitter feed. If they banned his account, he would go with another service and that service would swell overnight just from the professionally motivated followers. A good portion of the country to go there as well in protest.

Twitter would collapse. Or collapse more quickly than it is now.

It's not 100% but I would dump twitter stock if I had it on the spot once I heard that happened.

As much as it pains me to agree with that, you are probably right. And witnessing him doing that would just be worse. Okay, maybe they shouldnt ban his account. (kicks a rock and walks away)

I know right?

They won't censor Trump. He's about as high profile as it gets and the only topic where twitter is mentioned without being followed by phrases like "circling the drain" .

Beyond that, all of twitter's bullshit has largely been used to censor right leaning speech, and not even particularly offensive or hateful examples of such. I would be very curious if there are left leaning examples of such that are being complained about. I try to keep tabs on the current events as both sides see it, but I have not heard of any lefty types having a huge problem with the twitter policies and algorithms.
