More ammunition for the Ryzen hype gun, it seems. (Hit the link for the charts, as they are on the longer side.) While these new prices are not a perfect match to previous leaks, the notion that AMD’s upcoming effort will be pretty competitive stands—the author thinks that Intel will even drop the pricing of Kaby Lake in response to all of this. In other news, Ryzen CPUs may require special coolers.

Clock speeds and pricing have been leaked for AMD's entire Ryzen lineup, from high-end 8-core processors all the way low-end quad-cores. These new Chinese prices and CPU clock speeds are included below, though it is worth noting that the previously leaked R7 1800 model was missing from the list. We have converted the prices included in this leak to USD, taking into account the current exchange rate and China's 15% sales tax. Wh have compared these prices to previously leaked US prices, with end prices being very similar. These prices should not be considered final US prices, but as a ballpark figure which showcases Ryzen as a highly competitive product.

When the reviews and benchmarks come out I'll pass judgement.

I am hoping that Ryzen WILL force Intel to wake up and really innovate AND lower prices.

Hopefully that 1600x will hit some decent clock speeds with a good cooler. Could be a great all around choice for a new rig.

So purty...

I will be very sad if AMD "pulls a Falcons" sort of release. They have critical interest, let's see the delivery.

I'll tell you what, it would be tits if if the R5 1400X and 1600X really came in at ~$200 and ~$250, respectively.

What are the APU's called? I'm probably going to wait to build my HTPC until they come out.

prices look about what i expected the high end to be, whats interesting is the low end though, i definitely don't need the 1800x for what i do but the 1600x and 1400x look like a damn good deal if the performance is there. i guess i can hold on to what i have for another month and wait for ryzen, at the least it should cause intel prices to drop.

newest ones are the 7th gen aka Bristol Ridge but thats just an update of the previous series.. doubt we'll see anything based on ryzen and the RX gpu's until the end of the year or next year.

Don't be shit, don't be shit, don't be shit...

(I think we're all rooting for AMD, just please don't fuck this up, again.)

I've been wanting to build a small form factor PC for a while. Ended up waiting to see what Ryzen can deliver. If this thing is anywhere near Broadwell for these prices...

Gah, for real?.....LETS GO AMD, I have your money waiting!

I'm rooting for these to be good enough to ruffle Intel's feathers, like the rest of the enthusiast community. With that 1400X likely to be under $200 fairly quickly, one might end up at the heart of my living room PC, which is definitely due for an upgrade. Looks like it'll fit the bill nicely, and I want to support healthy competition especially in the enthusiast space.

hrmmmm might be tempted to sell off my Hero and Skylake and get me the 1800X

All are unlocked. X vs non X means X = XFR which is auto overclocking.

If true that is excellent news. Any info on what auto overclocking means exactly? How is it different from the Boost Clock speeds? Also, I believe the X versions come with a nice cooler out of the box. The older versions seem to be close to a Hpyer 212 Evo in terms of performance, depending on which review you read. But I do believe this one is a new revision.

But if you can easily up the MHZ by a few without touching the voltage, I'd rather get a non-X and just buy a Hyper 212 Evo and save $40 or so.

It is going to be interesting to see how well the 65W Ryzen parts OC compared to the 95W ones, especially the 6/12 at 65W and possibly 95W (different leaks different values for the 1600X, both show the R5 1500 as 65W).
If the costs are correct in the recent rumours and with competitive performance (depends upon the reviews) I would just go for the 1700X or 1800X models, maybe the 1600X if it is 95W but depends on how well it clocks compared to the upper 8C models.

The unknown is the 1600X (6c/12) as two different rumour 'leaks' do not match, one is showing 95W (thermal leak rumour) and another with most recent prices as 65W (Chinese leak on overclock3d).
The 95W thermal leak rumour for 1600X looks more like official type of data.
Cheers

I was under the impression that while all may be "unlocked", those with XFR support will have 25mhz steps available with specific voltage monitoring. Otherwise, it may just be traditional multipliers, etc. Not too much longer to wait either way!

Interesting how the models are R3, R5, R7 to correspond to the intel chips.... return of the PR ratings!

maybe pair that up with a firesale fury x ? Could be a sweet entry level softcore 4k rpg/rts type box for the living room Mega Tv?

I still don't understand why anyone cares about wattage when overclocking comes into play. I just pump as much as can be dissipated before hitting bsod or throttle and then dial it back 5-10%. I would never buy anything based on assumed TDP or Power Consumption...

It may matter because AMD differentiates between the models and no-one is yet 100% sure how that comes into play with XFR (which may be X models only and 95W if you want more than a 4c/8t) or overclocking for all models.
Otherwise why bother with top 8/16 95W models if the 65W TDP clocks just as well (that is the 1700 and 1700 Pro models).

Cheers

XFR... if your rig is up to the cooling requirement, the cpu will auto overclock up. The maximum that it will clock up will not be advertised presumably so for cya. They probably do not want to be put into a situation to be held liable if you don't hit X clock for X reason, etc. This will probably resonate with the non-overclocking crowd or the lazy overclockers. But again, its a catch because you have to good cooling to support the overclock and its only true enthusiasts that will drop the coin for custom loops that can support major overclocking.

So long as they don't bugger up the motherboards, 5-$600 for an 8c 4.0 Ghz... you can count me in.

I've held off buying my new rig and if the price is legit I'll get the x1800 (great gpu at the time too!).

But if they have crap motherboards at release I'll wait again.

+1 on waiting to see what Ryzen can do. Ready to upgrade PC after 4.5 years and was looking at the 7700k. If Ryzen can compete then I might get an AMD setup again after so many years!

I haven't been keeping up on this, can someone tell me the difference in the #### and the ####X - so the x models?

I'd like to build one of these to mess around but the model I'd want is still a bit more than playing around money so this is just a dream but the more I dream the more I can end up saving away.

Some of the primary IHV will have a range of B350 and X370 such as MSI/Asus/Gigabyte so does seem promising but just comes down to the exact spec details, prices also seem promising.
Key for me is the level of support/lanes for NVMe.
Intel screwed up IMO by limiting Optane to enterprise 1st (for reasons that go beyond R&D issues) as it still has nice potential even if it did not achieve all of what it was meant to, retail consumers will not see this as a viable solution for quite some time.
Yeah it is a rather extreme/expensive option for retail but it had potential for interesting performance gains if it has the backend-software support from Intel/Microsoft/etc, and I am sure I was not the only one interested.
Cheers

I'm happy with my rig, but a friend of mine suddenly has money for something better then the midget rig I built him; and, that 1600X looks like the sweet spot. He's the jerk that got me started in this dreadfully expensive habit 2 decades ago, so I really want something awesome to get him back into it.

Please, don't shit the bed, AMD.
